Sunday Delivers!
Morning, LOBers! We've got some real crackers on the way this Sunday morning. It all starts with two matches at 9am, including my beloved Leeds hosting Brentford. We haven't won a league match in 2023, so now is the time. That's followed by the marquee match up of the weekend - Arsenal v. United, That match usually produces some fireworks, so it should be fun.
Brew yourself a cuppa and settle in, won't you?

With his team winless in the league since November and tumbling towards the relegation zone, Jesse Marsch is running out of road. And with a back-to-back double-header against in-form rivals Manchester United looming, he needs points quickly. Meanwhile Thomas Frank and his gang are dreaming of Europe, unbeaten since October and playing with a carefree fearlessness that has seen off Liverpool and both Manchester clubs already this season.
The team news out of Elland Road this morning:
Leeds: Meslier; Ayling, Struijk, Koch, Wober; Adams, Roca, Aaronson, Harrison; Rodrigo, Gnonto. Subs: Robles, Firpo, Llorente, Kristensen, Greenwood, Sinisterra, Bamford, Rutter, Gelhardt.
Brentford: Raya; Roerslev, Ajey, Pinnock, Mee; Henry, Norgaard, Jensen, Dasilva; Mbeumo, Toney. Subs: Strakosha, Hickey, Schade, Wissa, Zanke, Ghoddos, Lewis-Potter, Damsgaard, Janeit.
The USA crew are doing their Orlando fanfest again today. They just had Leeds legend Michael Bridges on alongside the kid from the Harry Potter movies who's a Leeds superfan.
Good Morning, Bob. I just woke up . I have Citeh vs Wolves on the telly and the match from ER on the the computer
We're underway - come on!
The matches are underway
COME ON LEEDS! MOT!
Morning, David - thanks for joining me!
In the other match I will be rooting for Wolves and I'm guessing you will be rooting for Citeh
You're welcome Here to support you in the big match from ER
Willy Gnonto has an early injury scare, but seems to run it off.
You've got that right; I need Haaland to score hatfuls today.
Christian Norgaard is getting some treatment now.
Matty Jensen fouls Aaronson just outside the box. Well done the Leeds high press
I'm a bit surprised that we're going with the usual high press today. I'm worried that the front three for the Bees will take advantage.
Curling free kick over by Wober on his home league debut
Free kick for us in a dangerous position; new boy Max Wober puts one over the top.
In the other match ion the battle of the two Spanish managers, Lopetegui goes to Pep and starts telling him off over the way his players are playing. I hate when managers do that. Then he starts yelling at the fourth official. I'm starting to not like him because he's don e this in other matches to in his short time at wolves
Patient buildup from us.
That Sa was a nice save from a Halland shot. Not what you wanted to read
Love the colorful updates from the other match - keep them coming!
Wolves signed from Mario Lemina from Nice. I didn't think he was anything special when he played for Saints and briefly the Cottagers. Do you think that's the type of signing that will help Wolves. I really don't think so. How about you?
Cheers, mate. I know that match is important for both of us
I'm guessing you will be in the neutral corner for the late match
Not the most convincing keeping from Meslier off the cross from Bryan Mbeumbo , but somehow got it away then the return cross from the opposite side off the bar , but the ref said it first curled out of play. The most threatening the|Bees have been so far
I agree with the color commentator - we need more quality.
The stats show that this match hasn't been exciting so far. Desmond in terms of shots off target and neither side yet to register a shot on. It shows this match has been fairly even
Bit o argybargy between Adams and Jensen now. Knock it off!
Hand bags between Matty Jensen and Tyler Adams. The dan isa midfield player not a fan of 18th century Presidents. So you know anything about that? Has that question been asked by your students?
Rodrigo went down there looking for a pen. Nothing doing.
Long range shot from Rodri inches over. Wolves now starting to sit back with almost a neck nine or ten. Had given it a go until about five minutes ago
Soft long range shot from Rodrigo easily saved by David Raya. It may have been going wide
GOAL ! JUST WHAT THE DOC ORDERED. HAALAND HEADS CITEH OINTO THE LEAD
A short fee kick was taken by youngster, Rico Lewis to Rodri. He played a long diagonal pass wide right to Mahrez and he played it back to KDB and then headed in at the far post by Halland from the KDB cross. Hew was marked, but his markers were ball watching
Now VAR checking for a possible Citeh penalty
Nothing doing .
I'm back after feeding the twins their morning oatmeal. We're drifting toward a goalless first half.
Marvelous to hear about that Haaland goal - I believe that that's his 23rd in the league this season - maybe 28 or so all told. Remarkable strike rate.
It's 0-0 at the half at ER. Citeh one up in stoppage time. Off to take Trooper walkies
Teams coming out for the second half now. It was a drab first half. Brentford clearly came to nullify and we haven't had the quality to break them down yet. Plenty of firepower on the bench but no changes as yet.
We're on the attack again as we've been throughout this match. But I can't remember a good chance for us. And I worry about Brentford picking us off.
Oh - Wober tried a strike there and it seemed to hit an arm. Nothing doing.
Oh - best chance yet. Rodrigo fires toward goal and Raya has to push it away.
MOT!!!!
Back from walkies and Haalnd just put Citeh three up. That Sa was a gift as Jose with a short pass picked up by Mahrez and passed to Haaland for an easy tap in
This match is there for the winning. I'd like to se JM make some positive moves in the next few minutes.
Oh - Aaronson nearly played Gnonto in there. We're getting closer.
Welcome back, mate - how was the walkies?
Still 1-0 Citeh?
Oh - now Jack nearly finds Gnonto running into the area. He's clearly the target man for us now.
The Bees really parking the bus now.
More poor play from Roca - I'd have him off for Greenwood.
That's a hat-trick for Haaland as I just saw the second goal . Ruben Neves will want to forget about it as he gifted possession to Cityeh deep in the Citeh then about a dozen passes later tripped Gundogan in the wolves box . Definitely a penalty , but soft and Gundogan exaggerated the fall
Thanks, Bob. It was a good walkies on a damp, drizzly, Lakenheath type morning
David Raya does well to turn around a shot from Willy off a pass from Gnoto off a long ball from the back
What's JM waiting for? I want to see the new boy Rutter!
A sinister substitution as Luis on for Aaronson
It's pretty cold and dreary here as well.
Welcome back, Luis Sinesterra - Aaronson gets the hook. Not a great day for him.
Oh - Ayling got to the by-line, but could only find Raya with his cross.
In the other match Pablo Sarabia making his Wolves debut. I'm sure you would have wanted him at ER. He came on at the beginning of the second half
Lovely - Brentford were threatening there but Toney got into a ruck with Koch off the ball and gets a yellow card for it.
For Citeh , Phil Foden didn't even making the match. He's sulking in the stands . Quite a statement from Pep. That's how you keep players on their toes.
Haaland off after his hat-trick. replaced by world Cup winner, Julian Alvarez
I can't say that I know Pablo Sarabia - where was he before this?
Citeh could have been four up, but Mahrez had a goal disallowed for offside. Wolves lucky because it was a really close call
Wow - that's quite a return for Erling. I wish he was here at ER!
He was at PSG and was a regular starter. Played for Spain at the World Cup. Sounds like the should have come to ER instead of Molineaux
Long throw antics from Brentford now - Rodrigo concedes a corner.
Agreed, mate. Isn't that 25 Prem goals for the season?
I guess a draw is a decent result for Leeds or do you consider that a pair of dropped points?
I think so and maybe 30 in total for Citeh. The man is a machine.
Roerslev Struicked down Pascal just outside the Bees box
I would consider that two dropped points - this is a winnable match.
That's more like it - Lord Bamford coming on for Rodrigo. He's on three goals from the last two matches. Let's go Pat!
My volume went out on the Leeds match. OH well.
Leeds currently 15th place , a point clear of the drop zoe. The Bees are in eighth place, so I guess a draw isn't the worst result even though I agree this match is winnable. It's been solid Leeds performance
That's odd - I hope it comes back for you.
Come on, Luis - shoot!
Robin Koch gets a yellow and he'll be suspended for the Forest match.
Thanks, mate. That's why I detest streaming video. It's not user friendly and if you accidentally click the wrong button you have to hunt for a needle in a haystack to see what you did. Either you watch in silence or miss the match and see what you did wrong
Bugger - Marc Roca gives the ball away and Koch is forced to concede a corner.
I agree with you about streaming; however, I have to admit that it allows me to watch Leeds every weekend. In the old days, they would have just shown the Citeh match and I'd have been following the Leeds news on the LUFC site.
Now it's Greenwood on for Roca. That should have come at half-time and I'd like to see Rutter.
Now we've got a free kick out wide left. This has to go in!
Decent free kick from Jack but it's cleared out.
I don't mind streaming on the ROKU, but on the computer it's quite a challenge when you are dexterity challenged. I agree with you about your points
Brentford still trying to catch us on the break, but Wober has been a stalwart.
Into a trio of stoppage time minutes at ER
He seems to be a good signing . Did Wober play for Jesse at Salzburg?
And I appreciate your generosity with the Peacock account.
Just started the same amount of stoppage time at the Etihad
Yes - they did work together at Salzburg. There have been some complaints about JM making too many Salzburg signings but I think he's a good addition.
Sure. Glad to help, mate and glad you see lots of Leeds
A late, late corner now - must go in!
Agreed. I think the Salzburg signings have helped
It's been a game changer. When we were L1, I was lucky to see two matches a season live. Just the Cup matches really.
I'm' sure Leeds would have preferred someone of the quality of Sraboia, but a shale that he went to Wolves. That will help them
It's tough toes the L1 matches. At least in the Championship there's plus
It's over at ER and finishes 0-0. I know you wanted a win , but it's a clean sheet against a top half side.
Better news for you as Citeh have won 3-0. Not good news for Steve as Citeh now trail by only a pair of points thanks to the Gunners being idle in midweek
Now time for the late marquee match of the weekend as the Gunners host United , who will be without Casemiro, who is suspended for his fifth booking of the season in midweek,.
One last hoof up the pitch and that's that. 0-0 in the end. Not enough, really. But on the plus side, it's our first clean sheet in ages. It leaves us in 15th on 18 points from 19 matches. But only a point off Bournemouth in the relegation zone. Half-way through the campaign now and still in a perilous position.
NBC not at the match yet. Will probably barely make it in time for kickoff.
They're off from the EM .
COME ON MAN UNITED!
Made it with a few seconds to spare
Gunners gifted a corner off a poor cross from Saka. The ball was going out of play and Obi Wan should have let it run out of play for a goal kick
McTomain replaces Casemiro , who is out due to a suspension, not food poisoning
WAY HAY! WHAT A SHOT FROM RASH TO GIVE UNITED THE LEAD
Not exactly Partey time for the Gunners as Thomas coughed up possession and it broke to Bruno , who passed to Rash , who went on a short run then a rocket of a shot from thirty yards out beat Ramsdale at the near post, but the pace really beat him as opposed to a goalkeeping error
That puts United third, three points behind Citeh and three points ahead of the Toon. Gunners still top, a pair of points ahead of Citeh with a game in hand
BUGGER! THE GUNNERS TIE IT UP THANKS TO A HEADER FROM EDDIE
It started off a Gunners short corner and about ten passes later a cross from the left from Xakha Khan was headed in by Eddie
The Gunners are now three points ahead of Citeh with a game in hand while United are third,a point ahead of the Toon
OH! Ramsdale does well to turn a round a shot from McTomain from just outside the box off a pass from Marc Antony
This is United's first corner of the match after the Gunners have won five
Mickey Arteta has talked himself into the book. He Shaw was complaining about persistent fouling from Luke.
