Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week

I've been heartened by the number of Americans playing in the Premiership this season, so here's a three part question that addresses that:

1. How many Americans played in the Premiership last weekend?

2. Who were they?

3. What teams did they represent?

6. Friedel at Blackeye Rovers, Demerit at Watford, McBride at Fulham, Howard at Everton and Hahnemann and Convey for Reading.

Did I miss anyone?

No, spot on, mate. I thought you might go for seven, but Claudio Reyna has a slight knock so he didn't play for Citeh against you lot on Saturday.

It's interesting that still half of them are goalkeepers - still our strength.

Well done!

I had to cheat to make sure Jonathan Spector didn't get a few minutes.

I watched the Citeh game, (sigh) so I know that Plodio Reyna didn't get any minutes.

By the way and on another subject, did you see this description of Mendes' injury in the Times?

"The Portuguese will undergo a series of tests on his central nervous system after the force of Thatcher’s forearm smash, which sent him crashing into the advertising hoardings, induced a fit, knocked him unconscious and left him bleeding from one ear and requiring oxygen and a drip."

Jesus!

Stevo, where have you been?
I, for one, have missed your comments.

That was a viscious attack by Thatcher. All the talk on the radio is about the police getting involved. Others say that he should get a big ban. Not Cantona like but similar

The worst aspect of the Thatcher thuggery is that he stood over him for a few moments glowering, as if to say, "Get up, you ponce." What a shocker!

Oh that's thuggery 101 to stand over the fallen and abuse them. Alfie Haaland may be able to walk again after all these years, but his psyche is forever damaged by the rolliking Keano gave him for getting in the way of that hooligan's studs.
