Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Big Sam is Off...

...but where is he headed? That's right, Allardyce has said goodbye to the cosy confines of the Reebox, and only a few weeks before the end of the season with Bolton fighting for a UEFA spot. What's the explanation for this bizarre behavior? 365 predicts that he's going to take over at Citeh at the end of the season. But would you really leave Bolton to go to Citeh, if you were Big Sam? My fear is that Macca will be out of the England job in the summer and Allardyce swiftly installed when he goes. Any thoughts, gents?

I was going to post something about this.

606 had a lot of callers about this.
There were suggestions of him going to Citeh, Chelski, Sunderland, Newcastle or England.
Could it be something to do with the Bung situation?
I know that Bolton are much better than Citeh but the are still the bigger club. Why would players, like Sidwell, leave Reading to go to Newcastle?
Bob, you said "fear", do you really think he could do worse the Stevie Mac?

I know it's hard to believe a worse manager than Steve McClaren, but IMHO Big Sam would be worse. It would signal that England have a bunker mentality and refuse to learn anything from the advances of footie strategy on the Continent. Big Sam's a Little Englander from way back and favors the lump it and hope strategy. We've had enough of that. There honestly isn't an English manager that I'd have managing England right now. My pick would be Guus Hiddink. Yours?
