Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Goals I Remember, Volume Eight

A goal from a happier time for Yorkshire's finest from Peter "Hot Shot" Lorimer against Palace. Pick that one out!

Sheffield United my arse! The Blades are going down, down, down next weekend.

According to that website that you sent earlier, we wore red as a third strip in 71/72, the year that we won the Cup.

We are Leeds!

Btw, Steven and Nick on FFF were just arguing that ManYoo should be docked points between of the shady Tim Howard deal with Everton.

The "Goal I Remember" series is great . . . although its a bit odd to see the useless cross, followed by the useless clearance, and then a nice strike from Lorimer . . . was it really this bad?????

'Tis true, some of the sublime skill that we remember from that era was only possible because of the truly horrific defending, too. I was just watching that doc. on the Cosmos, "Once in a Lifetime." The clips of Pele were, as expected, quite satisfying brilliant but the defending...? Shocking stuff. You'd like to see what the great man would do against the likes of Carlos Puyol, Alessandro Nesta or Rio Ferdinand, wouldn't you?
