We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!
Happy Birthday LOB!
It's the first anniversary of Lakenheath Old Boys today! This time last year I was propped up in bed recovering from surgery when I decided that we needed a forum for our Anglophilic reminiscences and ramblings. It's been a great year and I look forward to many memories in the future.

Long may it continue.
I didn't realize that it was a year.
I wish more of us would contribute.
We need to get the Gooner back!!!
Great picture of the school Bob.
The big green tree to the right is the tree that was planted in memory of my father. I can't believe how big it is.
I actually imported the picture to my iphotos. The weird thing is that it went into by iphoto libray right next pictures of The Meadows.
Glad you liked it, Dave. Wow, I didn't realize that they'd planted a tree for your dad. Really nice touch. Is it the tree right next to the new red sign there by the staircase?
In other LOB news, I managed to get on World Soccer Daily today, talking about Leeds's imminent relegation. They were really putting the boot in in the first part of the intro to the show, so I wanted to see if I could get any sympathy out of them.
They were really good to me and let me talk quite a bit about the Revie team and the 70s, how it's been difficult being a Leeds fans over the years and having to deal with the team's rotten reputation - the thuggery on the pitch, the hooliganism in the stands and the Majestyk scandal with Banjo Boy and Woody.
Definitely download it from Itunes. I'm the first caller on at about the fifteen minute mark of the program.
Wow,is it available today.
Today's program?
The tree is the one on the right straight ahead of you after you come up the stairs.
Yeah, mate. I've already downloaded it. Just go to Itunes and search for "World Soccer Daily."
I am listening to something right now.
I went to talk radio and then it had Big Soccer.
Steven from FoxFoneIn.
Can you fast forward
Hey mate: I dunno if you can if you're just using the feed on Internet radio. Try it on Itunes. Go to:
http://www.itunes.com
They just finished talking about books. Charlie Cook and co.
Am I on the right show?
Actually it's:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can specify for Windows if you're on a PC.
They just said Robert.
Is that you>
You're too far into the show. They talked about Charlie Cook around about the 30 minute mark. I was on around fifteen minutes before that.
Download the Itunes for free and then search for WSD. It's well worth it. And keep listening. You'll like Howard Rogers - he's a Red Deviler like you!
I'll give it a go
It's definitely worth it.
I have to go to download itunes? I already have it. Where do I go from the first home page
No, if you've already got it, just go to the Itunes Store, click on the "Podcasts" link and then plug "World Soccer Daily" into the search box. Then click on "Subscribe" and you've got it. Enjoy!
LISTEN, I am not an idiot here. I can find my way around the computer pretty well but I am struggling today.
I went to itunes store, podcast and NOW I CAN'T FIND A SEARCH WINDOW
I am getting there.
I have to go through my itunes.
It is taking 30 minutes to download.
I am doing something wrong
Well, that is fairly slow, but give it a chance. I'm telling you that it's worth it to hear your mate Gatorbob on the radio. And then you'll have WSD; it'll automatically download every episode. Lovely jubbly.
The important thing is... did you mention your friend from NY????
Your almost up. The whole family is listening
Fantastic job Robert!!!
You sounded great and very knowledgeable(you fooled him)
I especially like the "put the boot in" comment.
Of course, you did mention Man Utd and The Arse so you could have mentioned me and your bro !!!!
Seriously, great job.
I expect you on the telly tomorrow!!
Thanks, mate. Sorry I didn't have a chance to put in a plug for you lot. I shall try to get on tomorrow night, but I'm told that it's a lot harder to get on the FFF.
