Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

WE'VE GOT OUR TROPHY BACK!!!

A big thank you to The Arse for getting it done today.
A very deserved Championship for United. They have been the best team all season.
Ninth Premier League Title in 14 years. A total of 16 times being Champions of England. Only two behind The Pool.
You're thoughts?

We've got our trophy back, we've got our trophy back, we've got our trophy, we've got OUR TROPHY BACK!!!!!

Congratulations Dave and all the other Red Devils out there. You're worthy champions this year. I'm reminded that I picked you to come fifth this season, behind even Spurs, who will be lucky to make the UEFA. It seems laughable now, but hear me out: I do think that you were thin coming into the season and were very fortunate to weather most of the season without major injuries. Still, when the injuries came and the big games heated up in the past month, you had the mettle to get the job done. I'm happy that it didn't go to the big money boys at Chelski again, but I really would like to see someone outside the top three win the Premiership - it's getting a bit tedious, don't you think?

I agree about only a few win the league but it has really been that way for YEARS.
Liverpool were winning it all the time except for a Forest here, a Villa there.
I know that you are saying that those two would NEVER have a shot. Even Everton can't
We did have a lot injuries all at once. Look at our back four?

Congrats, Dave . . . any chance you'll give your U-19s a run on Saturday?. . . I'm worried, a Wigan win and a West Ham loss and we are down.

Well, a quick check showed that five sides won the First Division title in the 70s: Everton, Arsenal, Derby, Leeds, Liverpool and Forest.

In the 80s, four teams won the championship: Villa, Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal.

Since the Premiership started, only four sides have won in fifteen years: United, Arsenal, Blackburn and Chelsea.

Also, mid-table sides typically won the cup competitions. In the past fifteen years, Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Chelski have dominated these too. This year, the domestic trophies win be shared by just two sides.

I think that says something. I don't want to take anything away from your win today, but I do think unless other teams have some chance of actually winning something rather than just surviving in the Premiership, their fans will eventually lose interest and start watching something else.
