Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Will England Still Qualify?

The titular question above has been on the minds of all England fans this week, despite an impressive performance and victory against Estonia away. With five games to play in the group, England lie in fourth place behind Croatia, Israel and Russia. It's been thirteen years since the Three Lions have failed to qualify for a big tournament, so this would be a calamity. However, as this BBC article that United We Stand sent me suggests, England still have every ability to place second in the group. It'll be a close thing, so pay close attention now.

Thanks to Davey for spotting this article.

Obviously it's possible with maximum points and a few more bad results for our nearest rivals Croatia and Israel.

Yeah, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

I reckon it's about 50/50 that England will qualify at this point.
