Carling Cup First Round!
Forget the Premiership - the Carling Cup is back to offer fresh hope to fallen giants and minnows of the Football League alike. It's not a fashionable tournament but I would luv it - as King Kev would say - if Leeds were able to overcome League 2 dwellers Macclesfield tonight and continue the Renaissance that started on Saturday. If you're around this afternoon, do drop in for a cuppa and a chat.

Leicester have scored the afternoon's first goal against Accrington Stanley.
Norwich have scored against Barnet and Stoke City have taken the lead against Rochdale.
Hey Gator B, you still in the motherland?
Hey, Sir Trev. No, I came back Sunday. I'm taking a break from packing up the house. I'll be into my new place in Gville on Thursday. KC's moving up to D.C. around about Labor Day.
Morecambe have taken a shock lead against PNE, while Hereford are one up against Yeovil.
Excellent! Sounds like your trip home was very enjoyable. Are your parents well? I don't know if you saw but I came down with mono while on vacation two weeks ago. It was awful, but I turned a corner last Wed when the fever finally went away. I have a doctor's appointment in 30 minutes, so I'm going to sign off soon. The ONLY plus side to the illness was that it gave me the opportunity to read The Deathly Hollows . . . really enjoyable stuff!
Yeah, it was a terrific week with them. Parents are holding up remarkably well despite obvious creakiness due to age.
Sorry to hear about your illness; take care of that. Don't let it linger like Gooner did and end up in the hospital.
What did you make of the last Harry Potter - I was disappointed - you?
Sorry, Blubber. MK Dons have taken the lead against Ipswich. And the Canaries have extended their lead.
Crikey! Lescott has scored for Everton after only three minutes. Spurs are down again - not a happy start at Shite Fart Lane. They could be played two, lost two at the end of today. So much for my prediction of them at fourth.
It's not going right for Ipswich today. They're now 2-0 down while their arch rivals up the road are 4-0 up!
Championship favorites West Brom and Watford are both one up.
Macclesfield and Leeds are still at 0-0.
Norwich now at 5-0 and building up a real cricket score against Barnet. Where are you, Stef?
Ricardo Gardner has levelled it for Spurs. Typical. They've spent oodles on striking talent and their first goal of the season comes from their fifth choice center back.
Half time at Macclesfield and it's still deadlocked.
Everton have taken the lead against Spurs again through Osman. And speaking of Ipswich, they've nicked a goal back against the Dons.
Half-time at Shite Fart Lane and they're 3-1 down now! Absolutely shambolic defending by Spurs.
And the Portman Rd. faithful have been rewarded with an equalizer.
Leyton Orient have got QPR on the ropes 2-0.
Down to twenty five minutes left to kill off Macclesfield.
And Spurs now have half an hour to score two just to even it up and win their first point of the season.
YES! Ian Westlake has come on and scored for Leeds. We're one up!
A couple of minutes left now to hang in there for another precious win for the boys.
Full-time: And Leeds are into the Second Round of the Carling Cup. Lovely jubbly. Two games, two late goals, and two wins.
It's not beating Milan at the San Siro but you can only beat those in front of you.
Spurs 1 Everton 3. The headline on 365 is "Let's all Laugh at Tottenham." Gooner must be peeing himself.
