Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Spamalot!

One of the highlights of my recent London visit was catching Spamalot in the West End. For those of you who haven't had the chance, it's well worth it. Eric Idle has "loving ripped off" the Python vaults of lots of bits and pieces - the show opens with the Idle tune "Finland" from the Contractual Obligation album, for example. It basically follows the "Holy Grail" script, but there are some great new tunes ("The Song that Goes Like This" is a nice piss-take on Andrew Lloyd Webber) and it all ends up with a bit of an audience sing-along with "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."

Kathy and I saw it in NYC last December. We both loved it.
I was able to save some confetti from the end!!!

Excellent - I saw some people collecting those yellow and white circles of paper too. I have to say that I got a bit choked up at the end when they had us all sing "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" thinking about the Graham Chapman funeral.

Great show.
