Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week

I'm back from Cleveland after speaking at the History of Education Society meeting and checking out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum this weekend and it's time to crank up the LOB again.

"Which Premiership ground has the largest pitch? And which has the smallest pitch?"

Good luck, lads!

That's us. The Emirates has the biggest pitch. I think it's true that we went from the smallest to the biggest when we moved from Highbury.

Don't know about the smallest.

Not quite, but you're close in that you guessed a side that's recently moved to a new stadium. It was explained to me that a lot of new stadia are built with as large pitches as possible so that the stands can be larger and hold more people while still retaining that intimacy with the pitch that English fans love. Keep guessing mate.

Indeed, Davey. Eastlands has the biggest. What about the smallest pitch?

I was waiting for that, Trev. You're right on the money. Upton Park is indeed the smallest pitch.

Thanks to all who played along this week.
