We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!
Fire up your Tivos! The Gooner spotted that this week is "Euro 2008" week on ESPN Classic. They'll be favoring us all with a preview show at 6 p.m. and then a classic European Championship match at 7. Tonight it's Germany vs. Czechoslovakia in the 1976 final, which is an absolute ripper and is the last time that we witnessed a German player missing a penalty. Don't miss it!

I tell ya, I'm really enjoying the 1-hour classic matches so far. That German-Czech encounter is so deep in my memory that it was good to see it again.
