It seems to be a rainy day on Wembley Way. That doesn't happen often.

We don't get the build up like we used to , but at least the BBC start at 12:40 and go right through till the end . Sky Sports news has been doing "Road to Wembley" and other Cup Final things all morning , hotel walk-abouts etc . Look forward to you guys joining me .
Mike did a show at Wembley last night and said it was really good . He's off to Birmingham today .
What kind of build up coverage do you get over there ? The excitement on the Beeb is building . Wish you were here !

Debs said she had a great time watching JHJ and other in Brighton on Thursday.
She had her picture taken with Paul Young and Rick Astley.
She said they had a Spinal Tap Hello Cleveland moment!! Mike was leading a lot of people up and down some stairs not knowing how to get out!!

Cup Final mornings were such good memories growing up.
The shows used to start at 11ish and have a Cup Final It's a Knockout.
Lots of different features. I remember one that featured a boy that made the Cup Final ball. It was back in the day when they only used one ball. This kid was in the factory and made the ball. After ten minutes of the match, the ball had to be replaced because it was flat. No one on the Beeb mentioned it was because they had a kid make the stupid thing.
It looks like, after Bob's comment at the beginning, that the Dahlgrens used to watch ITV on Cup Final Day.

Steve Waugh The Aussie is being interviewed at the moment . He's an FA Cup fan . They used to get up at about 2 AM to watch it . His mum used to make him and his brother a cup of tea as they settled down for the match .
Didn't you used to watch BBC and record ITV ? I could only stick the BBC over a long period of time .
They have just been showing the 1939 footage . The final and then the start of WW2 a couple of months later . The bombing of the city etc . Mum would have been about 14 wouldn't she .

I would try and see if there was times I could switch over, like during racing time but it was the Beeb all the way. In fact, I think each channel had one bus so I would follow that.

I used to flip between BBC and ITV, but as you know I was loyal to Auntie Beeb. I would get the Radio and TV Times on the Friday and scrutinize it and make out a schedule for myself. But I mainly remember the comedians who'd liven up the proceedings. You?
So, some woman with a very high voice sings with a microphone that didn't work. It was left for the supporters to sing it for at least for a full verse.

We were pretty near the front and mike spotted where we were,so he waved and looked our way often...he said he could hear our out of tune singing hhaha
It was great though,cos everyone got a good reaction..people were there to have fun :)

Sorry, Tony, I'm talking about the University of Florida football team - the Gators - which plays in the Southeast conference here in Gainesville. I was just commenting that a lot of college football stadia hold more people than Wembley. That's probably true of Syracuse too, right Dave? My brother and I went to the Homecoming game in November and there were 96,000 fans in the stadium. It's by far the biggest audience we've been in for a sporting event and we were at the Euro '96 final!
