Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The teams for today:
Leeds: Ankergren, Richardson, Huntington, Michalik, Johnson, Prutton, Douglas, Howson, Kilkenny, Beckford, Freedman. Subs: Lucas, Marques, Carole, Kandol, Hughes.
Carlisle: Westwood, Arnison, Livesey, Murphy, Horwood, Dobie, Lumsdon, Bridge-Wilkinson, Grant Smith, Hackney, Graham. Subs: Howarth, Thirlwell, Campion, Taylor, Madine.
Referee: Tony Bates (Staffordshire).
The big news is that our top scorer Jermaine Beckford - that's "Big Beck" to you - is back in the fold after a lengthy absence due to injury.
Carlisle have made the brighter start here and Bridge-Wilkinson is looking to get the away side into an offensive situation once more.
Marc Bridge-Wilkinson volleys a Graham cross against the Leeds upright! It goes behind for a goal-kick but the Leeds boys were inches away from going 1-0 down there.
Come on!
Graham is left in acres of space at the far post and his header is well saved by Ankergren in the Leeds goal. We're really under the cosh in the first ten minutes here and the sell-out Elland Road crowd really have to get us back into the mood.
It's been a frantic start with both sides leaving gaps at the back. As a consequence there has been plenty of early chances but the score remains 0-0.
Scott Dobie gets in the Leeds box but he can only direct his header high and wide. This is not looking good so far. We really need a two-goal cushion to take into the match on Thursday to make me feel comfortable.
Carlisle are in control at the moment as the last five minutes possession stat suggests - 74% Carlisle.
Coming up on the half-way point of the first half and we're not in this one yet. I cannot believe that we're going to blow this chance when we've done all the hard work this season. Macca needs to cuff a few round the ear in order to get them to pull their socks up.
I am here.
At least they haven't fallen behind!
Come on Leeds, get your finger out!!
It's wave after wave of Carlisle attacks at the moment as Leeds struggle to win the ball and keep it.
Afternoon, Davey. Maybe you can bring us some ManYoo luck. We'll need it. Glad to have you on board.
The home teams have not done much during the playoffs so far
BTW, UNITED DON'T NEED LUCK!!
True, both Palace and Watford lost at home and Southend drew 0-0 with Doncaster.
OH DEAR
Carlisle open the account
We do! Bugger!
31 mins: GOAL! HACKNEY! Hackney volleys goalwards from an acute angle for Carlisle and it takes a significant deflection off Graham to leave Ankergren stranded in the Leeds goal. 1-0 Carlisle and they deserve it.
Do away goals count double in the playoffs? If so, we're really up against it.
No they don't
Carlisle are winning every header in the Leeds box at present.
Well, that's something at least. I guess it goes to extra time and pens then.
How are you following it
Jonathan Douglas takes a fall in the Carlisle box after tripping over his own feet. We're trying anything at present to get back into this match.
I'm following the text on Football 365 and listening to Friday's edition of World Soccer Daily.
I am listening to talksport and they keep going for updates.
Douglas has sprung to life. This time he latches onto a loose ball on the edge of the Carlisle box but his effort is too close to Westwood who saves.
Beckford turns in the Carlisle box but the ball just runs away from him and the away side clear their lines.
Sounds like we're getting back into this one slowly.
Neil Kilkenny threads a super ball through to Beckford who shoots at Westwood's near post when perhaps he should have gone across the goalkeeper. Fine save again from Westwood. Corner to Leeds.
Come on, you Whites!
It sounds like Leeds are starting to put some pressure on.
There is a short turn around for the second leg. It is on Thursday
Half time: Leeds 0 Carlisle 1
Just one minute of added time is played and Carlisle go into the break 1-0 up at Elland Road. We'll have to do better in the second half.
Half time, in front of 40,000+
Carlisle get the second period started at Elland Road.
We'll need to dig deep to give the Elland Road faithful want they want in the second half.
No changes at the half.
UH OH
Two nil
OH NO! We're two down! Curses!
The busy Horwood makes a spurt into the Leeds box and his square ball finds Bridge-Wilkinson who makes no mistake this time from close range. Leeds ripped apart and it's 2-0 to Carlisle.
sniff sniff
I can smell a big fight back on the way!!!!
Beckford is replaced by Kandol. A disappointing return for the striker who is furious at being substituted.
He can't be fully fit.
Leeds makes a sub: Tresor Kandol enters for Jermaine Beckford. Reason: Injury
So why was he so "furious" about being subbed. What a prat!
Kilkenny is pulling all the strings for Leeds at present but they are failing to create worthwhile chances.
20 to go
Of course, it is LEEDS TIME
Thank you.
If we ever needed the late heroics, we need it today.
Leeds work the ball to Prutton on the Leeds left and he hits a fierce shot against Arnison arm. Prutton and the Leeds fans scream for a penalty but that would have been harsh. Hey, we'll take a dodgy pen.
There are only 1008 Carlisle fans inside Elland Road
That's about a thousand too many for my taste.
Your lot better take more than that up North on Thursday!!
Freedman goes down in the Carlisle box and the Leeds fans again shout for a spotkick but he simply fell over his own feet.
We need diving lessons from your Ronaldo!
You guys need a goal. If you are one goal down you still will have a shot!
Drogs is the professor!!
It's all Leeds now but they are struggling to find a way through this stubborn Carlisle defence.
Did you hear about the latest sad Gazza news?
No, what?
I heard that Rangers wanted him to come to the Uefa Cup Final on Wednesday(on FSC)
Apparently he checked into a hotel room and then ordered up some food and asked the front desk to send up some prostitutes. They threatened to throw him out and then he tried to drown himself in the bath. The police had to rescue him. Yeah, Ally MacCoist has reached out to him. And Mike Tyson! If you need help from Mike Tyson, you know you've hit bottom!

Ten minutes or so to rescue this one from the fire.
Leeds go very close
They now have a corner
Johnson hits a quality free-kick which is bound for the top corner until Arnison gets his head in the way. Corner to Leeds.
The ball falls to Douglas who hits a snap shot straight at Westwood who makes another excellent save.
Leeds are making a tactical substitution!!
Why??
Stop waisting time!!
There will be four minutes of added time.
YES
LEEDS SCORE!!!
AND THEN THE FINAL WHISTLE!!
YESSSS! Even one goal might give us some hope for Thursday.
Dougie Freedman with the goal!!!
THEY ARE WELL IN THIS!!
96th minute scrambled goal!!!!
Best of luck.
I will be there for you
Cheers mate
GOAL! FREEDMAN! Six minutes into stoppage time and Freedman gets a priceless goal for Leeds, latching onto a loose ball in the box and slotting it home.
That might really gee the lads up for the trip up north on Thursday. An appalling performance but I still have hope.
Cheers, mate. The United mojo rubbed off.
Watching the highlights on Sky Sports, Leeds had many chances and the keeper made some GREAT saves!!
