Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

...And Curbs is on his bike too!

What on earth is going on in the Premiership these days. Suddenly Citeh have more money than Croesus and all the other managers are taking a look at the new landscape and saying - "I'm off!"

Curbishley was apparently livid that Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney were sold without his nod at the 11th hour.

Does this put Gary Megson nearer the top to succeed Capello now? What an odd week. Curbs was right to get out now, they would have sacked him in a few weeks.

I've heard that repeated in the media but I don't understand that one, Simon. Why would West Ham have sacked Curbishley now? They're fifth! They've won two out of three matches so far and are coming off of a 4-1 tonking of Blackburn. What does the club expect of him - Champions League status? That's not going to happen unless they get their own fake sheikh to buy the club and splash a bit of cash around.

What is going all over the place???
I have heard that Slaven Bilic could becoming to Upton Park. I say bring the old Hammer back and make sure it is before next Wednesday. Croatia could be buggered without him!!

Man, I'd love it if Bilic joined the Hammers and this week please. He's had the Croatia side clicking along nicely. Wouldn't mind seeing their efforts scuppered right from the start. Can we get Ukraine's gaffer in at St. James's?

About ten years ago, I managed West Ham to the Premiership championship in some video game and then got the sack about eight games into the new season when the results lagged. It was right before the second leg of a European Cup fixture and I was so bitter I never played the game again. . . We sold Ferdinand???

Hey, selling Ferdinands is your bread and butter, mate. Surely you've got another 12 year Ferdinand in the pipeline?

I've just heard on World Soccer Daily that you can get 10,000 to 1 odds on Hammers supporter Barack Obama becoming the new manager at Upton Park. Worth a flutter, Trev?

I think Curbs would have been sacked - he had fallen out with the board no question and they were looking for an excuse. They are 5th now but who have they beat? Wigan and Blackburn - got hammered by City and nearly knocked out by Macclesfield - the squad is injury prone (some of this is down to his buys) and the fans were waiting to get him out. I like Curbs and think the Hammers fans love themselves too much. The 2 transfers sort of make sense but clearly there was bickering from both sides over it. Rumblings before the season of boardroom unrest with him and he took the can for the Ljungberg fiasco.

Bilic is not coming and Stuart Pearce has sensationally ruled himself out (like he was ever in it!) - could just be Di Canio's time and God help us all as he is nuts.
