FA Cup Quarterfinals!
The season is marching along and we've reached the FA Cup Quarterfinals stage this weekend. It all starts in a moment with Chelski kicking off at the Ricoh Stadium against Coventry. At 12:15, United and Fulham struggle for a semi-final birth.
Along with those two quarterfinal fixtures, we've got a full slate of lower league matches. Join me for the early morning footer.

Brilliant ITV stream up through Adthe here. May it long continue.
That old Python joke question - "When did Coventry City last win the FA Cup?" sadly no longer works. The straight forward answer to it now is..."1987."
After his mid-week, late night boozy shenanigans, Ashley Cole is getting booed at every touch by the Sky Blues' faithful.
A lot of the early work is going down the right hand side through Bosingwa, almost as if Guus Hiddink has had a word with the Chelski side about not playing the ball to Crashley.
GOAL! Didier Drogba is played in and almost can't miss. Slots home nicely after rounding the keeper. Drogs is back in real form under Hiddink.
Chelski 0-1 up!
Coventry are playing with fire at the back here. They're being roared on by a big home crowd but that shouldn't make them lose their heads. Drogs nearly in again there.
Coventry have settled down in the past fifteen minutes. Half an hour in and they're still trailing but they're making a better fist of things.
Chelski go in 0-1 up at half time. They'll be reasonably pleased with that. Hiddink's side look comfortably in control right now. However, a fired up Coventry might surprise them in the second half.
Hey Bob, I watched the firsts half on FSC in the bedroom. I am out here for the second half.
Chelsea were all over them!
Teams are out for the second half
Quaresma isn't available for the Champions League fixture in the week so he's coming on for the second half here. His first taste of the Cup.
Coventry were the 41st of 42 teams to win the Cup.
Who were the 42nd?
Morning, Dave!
That's a good 'un. Wimbledon? Won it against Liverpool in 1989 right?
Chelski do seem a completely different side under Hiddink - are you scared?
Drogba's totally torturing the Coventry back four today.
Well done
I've told you, I am always scared of Chelsea
Of course, Chelsea are winning but they have struggled against Wigan at home and Pompey away. So they aren't crushing teams
Coventry are pants!!
Actually, you were slightly wrong with you trivia answer.
Wimbledon beat Liverpool in 1988
Liverpool won it in 89 against Everton.
That match's BBC coverage was shown on ESPN. Des Lynam on ESPN!! They showed it because of the Hillsborough disaster.
Did you get my email last night?
I have turned on the ITV coverage too. I am going to keep it on all afternoon for the United match
Yes, and I am still not joining
Ta very much. I was very close. I remember the Crazy Gang victory pretty well. I watched it live at the Plough and Stars in Cambridge, MA.
Spoilsport!
The computer is about 30 seconds ahead of the TV
Have you noticed the big clubs that are at risk of the drop from the Championship into Division 1? Soton, Norwich, Charlton! That could make Division 1 tough next season. I hope we can get out.
Why are you watching the computer and not FSC?
Any thoughts about the Crashley Cole story during the week?
I'm lazy. I can't be bothered to get out of bed this early and I don't have FSC in the bedroom. Only in the living room. It's so cozy in here.
Besides the ITV coverage is much better than FSC.
John Terry - Chelski's most prolific goalscoring defender of all time. I wonder who is the next - Chopper Harris?
Sounds like good reasons to me
Essien about to come on.
Here comes Essien. First match back in yonks.
Nothing else is on FSC today so you might as well stay in bed all day!
BTW, ASHLEY COLE IS AN IDIOT!
Listen how picky you are
ITV's coverage is better than FSC
BOY ARE WE SPOILED!
What year did Coventry go down?
They were a mainstay in the top flight for years!
Coventry with the classy stuff - the long throw.
We are spoiled, aren't we? But not as spoiled as Crashley.
Btw, I do have to get out of bed. I've got to leave for an all-day research conference at school.
Celtic are losing to St Mirren in the cup. Not long to go
Did you see that Rangers lost at home to Iverness Cally Thistle?
Super Cally go ballistic Rangers are atrocious
It sounds better with Celtic!
When do you have to go?
Will you be here for the 10 o'clocks?
Game over
One of the big guns in the semis
United and Arsenal to follow?
Everton too?
Not a bad final four
A bit of total football from the Blues finished off by Alex. 0-2 Chelski.
Game over?
Yeah, I'd definitely go for that final four. Any of them would produce a good final.
I have to leave at 11 so I'll be around for the first half. And I'll be around all day tomorrow - you?
Ooh, Lamps was one on one with the keeper. Good save.
Drogs off to have a rest for the CL. Di Santo coming on.
I will be here all day today and probably tomorrow.
Good luck to your lot today
Westwood to Eastwood
Morrison should have done better there.
Cheers, mate. Bristol Rovers away. We should be able to get a result there. They're strictly mid-table.
Is Cookie Coleman a rubbish manager? Or does he just have the misfortune to manage rubbish sides? Discuss....
Just a a few minutes left now.
I think Bennett has done a good job today
No flashing of the yellow every minute
I thought Cookie was unlucky to lose his job at Fulham
Into 3 min of added time
St. Mirren have knocked out Celtic and are in the semis
Crossword help
What band sang Wild Thing?
Chelsea on their way to Wembley..for the semi final
The Troggs?
Full-time: Chelski ease into the semi finals with a 0-2 win. I'm off for a shower before the 10 a.m. matches. Find us a stream for Soccer Saturday, will you Dave?
Yeah, the original was by the Troggs. Before Hendrix did it.
Any others? I'm a dab hand at crosswords.
The Troggs had that famous outburst in the studio with the swearing. Classic stuff
I am zooming through this crossword all by lonesome!
Okay
Who wrote Lord Jim
Conrad?
Crossword finished
Now to the cryptoquote and then Sudoku
I went to p2p and it has the link for Soccer Saturday. It is the Iraqigoals link. It pops up on the second screen
Lovely - thanks mate!
oot
Yes, Joseph Conrad wrote "Lord Jim." I'm no help with the sudoku, btw.
Already got Lord Jim!
Half way done with Suds.
Isn't it strange to see Cristiano Ronaldo near the top of the scoring chart? It doesn't seem as if he's been that impressive this season but he's still scored 12 goals.
Alright then, who wrote "Lucky Jim?"
Didn't know Derby were playing.
Derby have held Bristols. That's not a result, it's just a bit of gossip
Derby 2 Bristol C. 1
Conrad
Have you noticed that MyP2P say that they won their lawsuit against the Premiership? Amazing - I don't know they can do that. It's clearly illegal. They must have some wizard attorneys.
I still have my ITV link going. It is minimized and turned down.
There is Agatha Christie on right now
This guy better not change the channel!
HE DID
Nice one, mate! Nope it was Kingsley Amis, Martin's dad, who wrote "Lucky Jim."
Did you see that the CL leg is on ESPN not ESPN 2 on Tuesday but not Wednesday. BLOODY BASKETBALL!!!
It doesn't start til 3:30 because of clock change
Bollocks! The silly bugger watching SS has switched over to a replay of the Liverpool vs. Real CL fixture. WTF?
GET IT OFF REAL TV!!!
What a plonker!!!
It is on your new website Livevss
ON Chanel 3 I think
Sunderland are one up
Kick off time and he's still on the Costa Del News. What a numpty!
Colchester have taken the lead against Oldham. Lovely.
Well in, mate! That's genius! Jeff Stelling back in the pink.
I love this website but it was down for about a week, no doubt with the Sky hounds chasing after them.
If this guy changes the channel I am going to visit him in small hours of the night and stick a bat up his nightdress!
I'll be at work on Tuesday and Wednesday but I should be able to watch a bit more than usual. It's mid-term week.
Scunthorpe taken the lead against Stockport
I'm with you!
Bugger! That's knocked us out of the playoff spots. We need a win!
You could do with Stockport winning instead of Scunthorpe. They have overtaken Leeds
Goal at Sunderland and the hosts are ahead. Kieran Richardson races into the box on the right, Heurelho Gomes comes out but can't get to the ball and Richardson clips it into the net. 1-0.
A draw would probably be better. Scunthorpe on 55 and Stockport on 54 in that case.
That goal was scored yonks ago
Peterborough are leading
Jeff isn't happy
Peterboro have scored against Stelling's Hartlepool.
Scuse me!
You definitely want Stockport.
They have played a game more than Leeds. Scunthorpe has played one less
Scunnie are two up
some guy just knocked on the door!!
Shut the bleedin door.. muva
Uh, Leeds are one down
Bugger! Bristol Rovers take the lead. That won't help us.
Leicester take the lead
Champions Elect
The watch...the Chinese watch...muva.
Charlton are toast!
What a fall
MK Dons doing their best Leeds impersonation
Losing away to lowly team
We haven't got in a shot on goal yet. Come on, you Whites!
My ITV link still going strong
Get your sound sort out... thank u
Yeah, that was what I was saying earlier. You could easily have three big sides drop into Division 1. And maybe Newcastle and Spurs in the Championship? Meanwhile Swansea in the Premiership? The world turned upside down!
Why are you still watching ITV?
Yet another goal at Walker Stadium. 2-0 now and it's Fryatt again.
Btw, Gooner tells me that there's a new crisp flavor in the UK - Cajun Squirrel! Are you up for that?
I am keeping the link going for the United match
Cajun Squirrel? I wouldn't eat that, maybe BBQ
Stockport have got one back.
The argie has tied it up for you!
What? BBQ Squirrel?
Why not
Yessss! Becchio! His 14th goal of the season. 1-1 Game on!
It's not the Cajun part that I'm worried about - it's the bleedin' squirrel....muva.
I'm going get you on Mastermind
Specialized Subject, THE BLEEDIN OBVIOUS!
MK Dons losing today would really help us out. And if Hartlepool could pull their fingers out, that would be nice too.
Bloody hell, he changed the channel.
Good back right away
The Dons have scored an equalizer, sadly.
Phil Thompson getting a little excited
Did you see the clip of him losing it when Risse scored the OG in the last minute against Chels in CL. He screams something that I have no idea what it is
Tresor Kandol, our old boy, has scored a brace for Charlton. Why did we loan him out?
I didn't see that Thommo clip. Too bad. I still remember Alan Hansen going bonkers when Robbie Fowler scored the winner in the Cup Winners Cup a few years back.
Stelling got a nice one over him the other week. He said that Thommo was away on a ski holiday and then after a beat added that he was bringing the ski slope with him! Boom boom!
Google it
I will look for for the Hansen clip
Hartlepool get the equalizer
Lovely - Hartlepool have equalized. Take that you Mastermind!
Brilliant. The reporter at Bloomfield Road is having to compete with the drummers.
Sudoku is finished.
I am now going to do the Cryptoquote
My link has frozen
I refreshed and it went to CH 1 and it was Sunderland Spurs
I prefer SS
I am off to the loo
If I am not back before you leave, have a good day
COME ON UNITED!!
Coming up on half-time now.
Cheers, mate. Don't be flushing any budgies down there. It could be dangerous.
I'm back
Stream is gone
It's back
Was that Ronaldo not traveling with United?
Blackpool's drummer still going strong
Young Fergie's men have taken the lead again at Hartlepool
Little Drummer boy is happy
Blackpool have taken the lead against in trouble Norwich
Cambridge have taken the lead against leaders Burton
BOB WILL BE HAPPY
Leeds take the lead at Rovers
Special Name SNODGRASS give the Whites the lead after 58 minutes
Leeds move up to fifth as we speak
Bad news for Bob
Millwall have taken the lead at Huddersfield
Leicester are four up
Millwall have been pegged back
Cambridge two up against Champions Elect
Ronaldo isn't in the squad for today's match
Watch out Inter
I have my new link from atdhe for the United match.
ITV News just finished
Spurs are still losing at Sunderland
When they seem to be moving away from danger they move right back down
Rooney and Tevez up front for United
Berbatov, Giggs and Scholes all on the bench
VDS in goal
My SS link just changed to ITV for the United match
Lovely opening story on ITV about United!!

Bristol Rovers score a last minute equalizer
That goal will drop Leeds outside the play offs
Leeds are held by BR
Two vital points dropped.
Sorry mate
Millwall score a last minute winner
Players about to come out of the 'tunnel'
United could have 20 more games left of season if everything goes well.
The last game would be the FA Cup Final
AND WE'RE OFF
Dempsey almost gets a shot in but blocked by Rio
Tev has a great shot but saved by the Aussie and Roon almost gets the rebound
Corner
followed by another
Fletch gives away a corner
Hopefully it doesn't come to anything
It doesn't
Good start from both teams
AJ gets a lucky touch and gets passed a rushing VDS. Vidic sprints back and saves it off the line
United are stinking it up for a while
Dempsey with a nice header saved by VDS
United are under the cosh
United are at sixes and sevens
COME ON UNITED!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
United get a corner, Rooney wins the first header and Tevez knocks it in at the back post
LOVELY JUBBLEY!!
That goal came against the run of play
after 20 minutes
What is going on? Vidic tries to pass it back to VDS with his head and almost lobs him!!!
United's passing has been horrible so far
Roon takes a pop from about half
Very close
United finally having some possession
Rooney called for offside. That was VERY close
Tev almost gets Roon in
They look good together.
They haven't started together since Boxing Day
They should more
Rooney hits the post from inside the six yard box. Should have been #2
The Fulham fans sing
What the F.. , What the F.. what the f..ing hell is that
WHAT A GOAL BY TEVEZ!!!
UPPER 90!!!
SIGN HIM NOW!!!!
We come back here in two weeks for a league match
SAME AGAIN PLEASE
10 minutes to go in the half
We're on the march with Fergie's Army.
We're all going to Wembley
And we'll really shake em up, when we win the FA Cup
Cause United are the greatest football team!
Wembley Wembley
We're the famous Man United and we're going to Wembley
Wembley Wembley
AJ almost gets in
Zamora almost in again
United's defense is pretty useless so far
Rio is down hurt.
Not before Inter
Looks like a foot or ankle injury
He just winced.
He is walking off with a little limp
Not going to be replaced yet
He is back on
O'Shea almost in but saved by Schwazer
Corner to United at the 45th minute
Two added minutes
Motty and Ian Holloway on 5 Live are convinced Fulham should have had a penalty... but then, Wayne Rooney wasn't offside earlier so maybe it's even stevens.
What Motson was talking about was O'Shea mugging Zamora with all the pulling. Why doesn't that get called!
Half time
Fulham started brightly but Tevez knocked one in from close range and then from way out
Half way there.
Looks like a great documentary on Clougie on ITV soon.
Hope we can see it
The teams are coming out for the second half.
Evans on for Rio. Hopefully just for precaution
The second half about to get underway
It is precautionary.
Fergie has to run across the field before the game gets under way.
Everyone has a good laugh
1817: "Inter are having injury problems against Genoa. Both Burdisso and Materazzi have been forced out of the game."
Tev got four in the Carling Cup Quarter Final. Same again in the FA Cup quarter final
YES!!!
ROONEY
3-0
Eckersley coming on for O'Shea
Rooney and Tevez are a great partnership. They should play more together
