We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Gold Cup enters the quarter-final stage this weekend. Here's the draw:





Saturday, July 18

5 p.m. Canada vs. Honduras

8 p.m. U.S. vs. Panama

Sunday, July 19

4 p.m. Guadeloupe vs. Costa Rica

7 p.m. Mexico vs. Haiti

Bollocks! I was hoping that the US would get the early match. DC hosts the Crapids at 8pm and you just know those stadium pin-heads will bark out updates over the PA so that DVR-ing the game loses all drama.

I don't like the way the Sunday matches line up. I don't fancy either of the underdogs in their matches and would like to avoid both of the Mexicans and the Ticos because we still have to play them in WCQ matches.
