Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Birmingham are continuing their excellent start to the season with a 0-1 lead over Bolton this morning. They're just starting the second half at the Reebok.
Celtic have beaten Motherwell 0-1 in the SPL this morning.
Gardner has added a second goal for Brum. 0-2 now. Brum into fourth place ahead of those 10 am kickoff matches. I'm trying to figure out if I should watch Pool v. WBA or Sunderland v. Citeh. I think the former.
I've chosen Pool. Here's a link that's working:

Morning Bob
I added a comment to my trivia question.
There have been 43 EPL teams so with your four answers there are four more
Hiya, Dave. Thanks - I'll give that some thought.
I have your Liverpool link going
Bolton are also down to ten men
Fernando Torres is back leading the line for Pool this morning. Stevie G. and Dirk Kuyt will back him up in the hole. There are two defensive mids - Lucas and Poulsen - in Roy's line-up. Fairly defensive for a home match against West Brom, methinks.
We're off
Relegation bound Liverpool vs West Brom
COME ON YOU BAGGIES!
The Baggies get us started. Liverpool begin the match in (teehee) one of the relegation slots.
Torres tries an early shot from a difficult angle.
And James Morrison tries a pop as well. Well wide.
Did you see the cricket story?
England won today bowling out Pakistan for just over a hundred odd and won by an innings +. But there is a story from the News of the World that some Pakistan bowlers were paid to bowl no-balls at certain time
They could be in major trouble!
The entire atmosphere at Lords was somber today
Kevin Davies has got a penalty back for Bolton in the 72nd minute. Game on at the Reebok.
Wow - that's a huge story. I hadn't heard it. Who paid them off?
Torres looks hungry - and a bit greedy there - as Gerrard played him in.
Albion are playing a striker - Peter Odemwinge - in an unfamiliar holding role. I think that's almost always a mistake and he coughed up the ball horribly there.
I agree with the commentators - Roy Hodgson is definitely under pressure and they must win this match today.
I lost the link!
As for the cricket, Some guy has been arrested but nothing has been done yet to the two Paki bowlers
I just thought of another ground and posted it on the other thread. I made an error in my original post in saying that Sunderland play at the Riverside. That's Boro, who used to play at Ayresome Park. Sunderland play at the ludicrously named Stadium of Light.
This link is giving me fits. Keeps going down.
Still 0-0 at the Stadium of Light, but Citeh have tucked in right behind you lot in fourth on the strength of kicking off. If they were to win there, how many goals would they need to leapfrog United?
We're off for the international break and, finally, don't have to compete in the bloody Johnstone's Paint Trophy this season, so Leeds' next match is at home to Swansea on September 11.
The Baggies aren't being defensive today. They're giving it a go.
Robbie Blake has leveled it for Bolton at the Reebok. Only minutes to play there.
Liverpool are certainly making hard work of this match. Not convincing at all. I reckon that Roy's for the chop early doors.
Bolton have scored two quick ones??
The link has been off!
That could have been a penalty for West Brom!
Liverpool won the toss BTW
The Baggies might have had a penalty there for Skrtel's hanging on to the shirt.
Remember that this is the same WBA team that Chelski rolled over 6-0 on the opening day of the season!
Bolton have drawn with Brimingham.
The match was totally dominated by Brum according to the Beeb
Yeah - Bolton scored a pen in the 72nd and another in the 81st. They might still go on to win it!
Nope - it's all over at the Reebok. 2-2 - what a comeback from the home side!
The Baggies might well be in front in this match. What the hell are Pool up to? I can't remember a weaker looking Liverpool side.
Link's gone down again. Grrr!
The first Atdhe link is working. Still 0-0 at Anfield and at the Stadium of Light.
I have given up with that link. I will look for another link for the second half
I am watching videos of the cricket story
Not a lot going on, to be fair.
Do you agree with me that this is the worst Liverpool side that you've ever seen? I don't think you can reasonably say that they're a top four club anymore. They just aren't.
Half-time at Anfield - 0-0.
Some booing in the crowd from the home support. Wow!
I hope they bloody well do!
1546: BREAKING ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS:
Stephen Ireland has injured himself in the warm-up, so is replaced in the Villa midfield by Nigel Reo-Coker.
I'm back at about the hour mark in the 10 am kickoffs and Villa v. Everton has started on the box. 1-0 already for Villa through a goal from Ashley Young in the 9th minute.
Everton are now keeping their Merseyside rivals out of the relegation zone. They're still on one point to Liverpool's two.
Villa have taken the lead with a nice goal by Luke Young
Lovely move and left-footed strike from Young for the Villa goal on the replay.
Pinear with a great shot off the bar!
I am busy skyping Tony at the moment
Oh - Pienaar with a lovely curler onto the Villa bar. That move involved my old mate Jermaine Beckford.
How is the Chelskilad then? And where's he been -his side is flying!
If WBA were to sneak a victory at Anfield today, would Hicks and Gillette then use the international break to sack Hodgson and get another manager in? I wonder....
GOAL! El Nino fires Liverpool into the lead with a lovely volley after some sterling work from Dirk Kuyt on the wing.
1-0 Pool!
He's been so busy and no time to even read LOB comments.
I refuse to say that Cheslki are flying!! They are playing the bottom of the barrel teams... of course, they have played Liverpool yet!!
BUGGER TORRES SCORED!!!
That goal lifts Liverpool out of the gloom. Btw, Villa are now fourth on the strength of that opening goal. Citeh drop to fifth as their still drawing at the Stadium of Light.
You say that about Chelski but you can only play the teams that you're scheduled to play, right?
And they beat WBA on the first day 6-0. Pool are struggling to beat them 1-0 at home.
They beat Wigan 6-0 away from home. Wigan BEAT Spurs yesterday.
That is, the other sides aren't doing as well against the lower teams. They're cruising.
I'd love to see JB get his debut goal for Everton today.
I'm really enjoying watching this Albrighton kid play. He's raw but exciting to watch.
Inside the last ten minutes at Anfield and the Stadium of Light. Liverpool hanging on to a slender lead with the Baggies pressing.
Citeh being held by Sunderland.
Jack Rodwell has got to be part of the England set-up in the near future.
Pool appeal for a handball in the area - ref waves on.
James Morrison in a spot of bother here for hacking Torres.
And it's a red card for the youngster. A bit harsh - he was merely tackling back after he lost the ball. Yellow at worst but because it was against the fragile Torres, he's off. Albion down to ten!
Villa appeal for a penalty as Pienaar appears to tug back Albrighton. Nothing doing from the ref.
Half-time at Villa Park - 1-0 Villa.
Scottie Carson looks a bit like the Brawney guy with that beard.
The Baggies giving it a last go here at Anfield.
Full time at Anfield - Pool have eked out a narrow but vital first win in the Prem this season.
It's got to be just about over at the Stadium of Light as well. Citeh seem to have wasted an opportunity to maintain their fourth place spot.
RATS!!!
Just hung with Tony
Sunderland have a penalty very late on
Darren Bent dispatches the penalty
SAME OLD CITEH!
Sunderland goal: With practically the last kick of the game, Sunderland have surely won it
Sunderland have beaten Citeh
Mancini out??
TopClassCitizen on 606: "I HATE FOOTBALL!!!"
Vishmaster1 on Twitter: "I LOVE FOOTBALL!!"
Lovely stuff on the Twitter feed, Dave. Citeh throw it away - they're down to ninth. You must be smiling at that.
Darren Bent must be in Don Fabio's squad for the upcoming qualifiers. I don't care about his lack of quality - he's scoring.
Well, I did place them in second at the end of the year!!
Off for a walk... I'll be back!
Saha on for JB - still no joy for the ex-Leeds man.
I am back from a very short but I am now off to the score. I'll have the boys text me the score
Take care Bob
TTFN
Tremendous save from Big Brad from Saha's shot there.
Cheers, mate!
Villa have held on for a 1-niller against Everton.
