Cheers, Gooner. You must be smiling this afternoon. Easy draw for the Gunners.
You'll also have a chuckle at the expense of Spurs who struggled to get past Young Boys of Bern and now have to see off Inter and Werder Bremen. Best of luck!
Group G - with Milan, Real and Ajax - looks like the group of death to my mind.
Thanks for adding the pic. I was looking for an image of Platini stuffing a canape into his mush.
Reasonably happy. I think Shaktar play on plastic so I want that away match over with early and wouldn't mind getting the away to Partizan over with as well. Glad to have dodged Madrid, Roma, the banana skins of Kazan, Cluj, and whoever Zilina is.
I was hoping Spurs would also get an away day in Tel Aviv, but you can't have everything.
No worries - btw, is that Mancini plucking the balls out in that image? And if so, isn't that a wee bit of a conflict of interest given that his Citeh side was narrowly edged out by Spurs?
Reasonably happy with United's draw but I don't think there a tough group at all. I guess the MIlan, Real and Ajax sounds tough but the Dutch aren't as tough as their name!
That's right Davy. Ajax are but a whisper of the great side they once were. Madrid however will be tough because Mourinho will have them playing the disgracefully unwatchable football that he brought to Chelsea, Inter and now them.
I don't think that's Mancini. They acknowledged the best keeper, defender, midfielder, and forward from last year's campaign. It's not Julio Cesar, but it could be Diego Milito who was their pick at forward. Or someone else entirely.
Bob, it's not the defender of the year, Maicon. I don't know who won at midfield, but it doesn't look like Van Bommell so my guess is still Milito.
You boys know far too much about footballers. Why didn't Spurs get the ALL CAPS treatment?
GOONER did it... need I say more?
Really Johnno? Really?
Speaking of anti-Spurs sentiments, there was a great discussion of Spurs' prospects in the CL this season on the "It's Up for Grabs" podcast hosted by the actor and super Gooner Alan Davies. Check it out.
No, not really.
I second Steve - up for grabs this week was brilliant.
Arsenal have a good draw here, no give mes in any walk of life but you'd expect them to finish top 2. A couple of dubious away ties but at least 7 points at home I feel.
I was happy with United's draw.Their only tough opponent is Valencia. They should win their group.Spurs were the only English side with a challenging draw.Despite that, they should be able to finish second behind Inter and ahead of Bremen. To be honest, some of the groups are a joke.I know that several people mentioned that Group G as a "group of death." Milan and Real Nadrid should finish comfortably ahead of Ajax. I am surprised that Group B was not mentioned as a possible "group of death." Lyon, Benfica, and Schalke will be fighting for the top two places , and Hapoel will not be pushovers.
