Who's Staying and Who's Going?
The Premiership transfer window ends this evening at 6 pm GMT (1 pm EST). As is tradition, there should be a flurry of last minute activity as clubs scramble to offload or add to their squads. This one should be particularly interesting as the moneybags clubs adjust to the new Premiership rules in terms of squad size and make-up. Stay tuned for updates throughout the day.

The Guardian has a brilliant live blog of the transfer moves today at:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/31/transfer-deadline-day-live-clockwatch1
Here are the moves so far at 11 am EST:
* Marcus Bent is joining Wolves on loan from Birmingham.
* Croatia goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa has joined Spurs on loan from Spartak Moscow.
* Alex Hleb has signed a one-year loan deal with Birmingham City
* The Blues have also signed a 4m euro deal for Chile winger Jean Beausejour
* Bolton have signed Rodrigo Moreno, Benfica's 19-year-old striker, on a season-long loan.
In the rumor mill, Robinho is in the midst of a medical at AC Milan today.
Fulham say that Mark Schwarzer is NOT moving to the Arsenal today.
Tom Cleverley has gone out on a season long loan to Wigan
Alex Hleb is also on loan from Barcelona to Birmingham!
United's Tom Cleverley has joined Wigan on a season-long loan.
That doesn't make me happy.
He could be useful for us
Well, maybe he can take some points off our rivals during the season
Cleverboy is a loss to United. He could really play a part in keeping Wigan up. Sorry to hear that... not really.
I liked the look of that Chilean guy that's going to Birmingham. He scored for them in the World Cup
Kick-boxing Gooner Armand Traore is off to Juve on loan. I doubt he'll return.
Did you see that the England match is on FSC live at 3 pm on FRIDAY!
The second match is on Tuesday. I guess that make sense for recovery time
Thanks for that tip Davy.
You beat me to it by a minute there, Dave. How are you?
I did just notice that weird schedule for the internationals. I'm not pleased. I was looking forward to the usual Saturday morning routine of following the footer with a cuppa and a bagel by my side. Ah well, I should be able to steal a few minutes on Friday to follow it...and Tuesday is actually a brilliant day for me - much better than the traditional Wednesday. That works.
Robinho's transfer to Milan is complete, the Guardian reports. A permanent deal, not a loan.
Class sarky talk:
5.07pm: "Did someone just see the video for Easy Lover and decide to make a transfer rumour out of it?" wonders Kamal Bennoune of Ryan Babel's helicopter flight.
Sunderland have gotten Gyan from Ghana
Konchesky did go from Fulham to Liverpool
The bloke that fired the Seasiders to the Premier League has finally joined them. DJ Campbell has joined Blackpool from Leicester City
Jermaine Pennant is wanted by Stoke
Kitson going to Pompey from Stoke
Leeds old boy Ian Harte has joined Reading from Carlisle. Also, it's his 33rd birthday. Happy birthday Ian!
Sunderland had to fork out 13 mil pounds!!!
Sky Sports News are live at Fulham's training ground and say there could be a couple of moves in the last 10 minutes
'late twist at Tottenham' ??
'international name involved in the Dutch squad could go to WHL'
I went to atdhe and got the link for sky sports news
Van Der Vart is the name from SSN
He would join from Real Madrid and be available for the CL
Insua of Liverpool joins Galata on loan
30 seconds til is slam shuts
SSN shows Big Ben chiming
The window is shut
What late moves will be announced?
Carlton Cole isn't going anywhere
Stoke DID sign Gudjohnsen, Pennant and Pompey's captain Marc Wilson
City didn't get rid of anyone but Robby
If Van Der Vaart does go to Spurs then Bentley would go to Fulham on loan
Wigan have signed Chelsea's DiSanto
Kitson and Liam Lawrence go to Pompey from Stoke
Fulham tried to bring in Bentley and Santa Cruz but it seems to be nothing
Arsenal didn't get Schwarzer
Brucie is a happy chappy in Sunderland
Is Frasior Campbell on Sunderland?
I guess he tore is knee ligaments!
Campbell is out for 6 months
Yobo is out of Everton on loan to Turkey
Leeds signs some Honduran international on loan
How did Arsene not buy any goalkeeper? I just don't get it
Blackburn's right back Lars Jacobsen has joined West Ham... never even heard of him!
In the end, it seems like much ado about nothing today. As far as I can tell, there was no late business involving any of the players who seemed destined to move. That is
* Ryan Babbel is still at Liverpool
* Robbie Keane is still at Spurs
* Mark Schwarzer is still at Fulham
* Shay Given is still at Citeh
The big clubs didn't go spending crazy today. Indeed, I can't see that Arsenal, United or Chelski brought any new players in.
Still no confirmation from Spus
I am off
Talk to you Friday

UWS
Very disappointed. I don't know who I'm less happy with, Wenger or that bag of pus, Mark Hughes. Probably Wenger, because the instant that Hughes was made Fulham's manager, Wenger should have known that he couldn't do business with slime like him, he'd just lead us along until the last hours and refuse to sell Shwartzer. But we were in for Steklenberg too. Less likely because he would have cost, I know, but we let Ajax cup-tie him so that he'd be no use in our CL campaign.
So, no trophy this season either. Is is any wonder that Cesc is tired of this s**t? A decent keeper two years ago and we could have had a happy Fabregas until his current contract runs out and some silverware to send him off with.
Thank you for the tip about the Euro qualifiers, UWS. I wonder why the qualifiers are on Friday instead of Saturday.Does anyone have an idea? I was disappointed to hear that Cleverly joined Wigan on a season long loan as he would have provided some depth to the squad. The only good thing to come out of this is that he will gain valuable premier league experience. He may be the difference between Wigan surviving and being relegated. This may pay off for us in future seasons.I agree with Gooner regarding the goalkeeping situation at the Emirates.I thought Wenger would have signed Schwarzer or Given. Will he try again in January? Will either keeper break into the starting lineup this season?I guess Cesc did not join Barcelona. That should happen once his contract expires.
I think the Friday kick off is a good idea. It gives the players a good rest after their club games. It also gives the opportunity to play on Tuesday which helps them the clubs for the following weekend.
Did you see that the FA Cup Final is on May 14. The League season doesn't end until May 22!!!! They have to do this because of the Champions League Final being at Wembley on May 28th. It was just decided today that the FA Cup Final will keep its' traditional 3 o'clock start. The full slate of league games will be played at 12:30 or 5:30.
I don't like it!!!
Arsenal aren't concerned with the FA Cup final.
