Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

LiverSox has a two goal lead at Molineux.
Torres with a tap-in in the first half after a great decision by the lineswoman.
A Meirles wonder volley doubled LiverSox's lead in the second
Great link for Soccer Saturday

Wonder where everyone has been.
The Battle of Dahgrens Part 1 and 2
Leeds throttling of Scunny
Derby 0 Forest 0 in the second half
Rio is out of the United line up with a groin injury
Smalling takes his place..yikes!
Is Evans hurt?
Pienaar is in the starting eleven for Spurs against the Toon
Full slate for today is
Arsenal v Wigan
Blackpool v Sunderland
Everton v West Ham
Fulham v Stoke
Man Utd v Birmingham
Newcastle v Spurs
Late game
Villa vs Citeh
Leeds travel to Fratton Park
Swansea away to Barnsley
Cardiff home to Watford
Norwich away to the Blades
QPR not playing today
10 minutes to go at Molineux...still comfortable for the Sox
This win would jump the Sox from 13th to 10th before the 10 o'clockers
Good morning UWS. I will be in and out today. I hope your wife is well after her surgery and wish her a speedy recovery.
This is a rematch of the December 28th matches and Liversox appear to avenge that embarassing home defeat to Wolves.
Morning MUR
She is okay
She had Carpal Tunnel on her right hand. A lot of bandages and sore but she is a trooper
Thanks
Dahlgrens... as Delia would say.... LET'S BE HAVIN YA!!
Rangers, after selling Kenny Miller to a Turkish side, are losing at Hearts
I hope United clobber Birmingham after they got that offside equalizer against us. Pompey vs Leeds should be interesting today.
Torres scores LiverSox's third inside added time
0-3
COULDN'T AGREE MORE
DOUBLE FIGURES PLEASE... bloody cheaters
Liversox score an easy third as Torres taps in to an empty net as Kuyyt was judged to be onsie.
Hearts have beaten Rangers
They are two points behind Rangers and four behind Celtic
I thought Leeds gave the Gunners a tougher game than the Hammers did.
Liverpool have 0-3 at Molineaux.
All over at Molineux
King Kenny's first win
I am surprised that Rangers lost, but they will need to to replace Kenny Miller. I wonder if he was sold for financial reasons. He was never successful in England, but he was always in a relegation side.
Forest take the lead in the Battle of Cloughie Clubs
I agree with you
I have always hated bloody Kenny Miller. He scored the only goal for Wolves when they beat United in '04. That was the game we went to watch at a place in DC when we had a Lakenheath Reunion! It was such a great weekend ruined by that bloody goal!
I'd like to see a Spurs win today at St. James' Park. I want Spurs to leapfrog Chelsea
Morning Dave,
Bob's winging it back from Belize as we speak.
I'm around for our game against Wigan.
I hope Kath's prognosis is good for relief from the CTS pain she's had. I understand that is generally miserable. You four men wait on her hand and foot, you hear?
Man Utd: Van der Sar, O'Shea, Vidic, Smalling, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs, Berbatov, Rooney. Subs: Kuszczak, Owen, Scholes, Fabio Da Silva, Evans, Obertan, Gibson.
Morning Steve
I didn't know Bob was still out of the country!
I am treating her like a queen.... still trying to get the boys to clean up by themselves
Kenny Miller is the kind of guy who isn't exceptional, but can pop up time and again and bite you.
Miller never terrorized us, but John Bloody Carew has legitimized his claim to be a footballer against us, scoring for Valencia, Djugardens (I think, maybe is was Copenhagen) and Villa. Doesn't even trouble the sides of most barns most of the time but the guy comes alive against us.
I'd love to see him piss off to a non-European qualifying side in Turkey.
Looking at the upcoming schedule for United... Villa on Feb 1st and Chelsea March 1st... both first Tuesdays of the month... BLOODY FACULTY MEETINGS!!!
Good morning Gooner. I am sure you will let Bob know about that midweek cup win. I remember that game Dave. That was his only decent game for Wolves. Wasn't much better for Derby , but scored in their only win that season against Newcastle.
Forest have beaten Derby
Davey, to get the lads to pick up by themselves, think whip and chair. Liberal use of whip and chair.
We're off at Old Trafford... COME ON UNITED!!!
The match kicks off from OT.
COME ON UNITED!
It's worth a shot!
I hope Brum do have their eyes of the semi final in midweek
United travel to Blackpool
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BERBATOV!!!!!
LOVELY JUBBLEY
UNDER TWO MINUTES
Nani wins an early corner for United!
yes! DRAC HEADS IN THE CORNER FROM GIGGS AND THEY LEAD OVER THE CHEATERS 1-0!
Nice flick by O'Shea... I thought he was the scorer at first
Berbatov has already equaled his highest total in the league!
Wrexham take the lead at Cambridge
The goal was scored exactly 90 seconds into the match.
Come on United... crush them!! Remember Banjo Boy's off side goal!
ooh, Berba has another chance!
Put it in boys!
A lovely sweeping move by Arsenal ends with Theo's attempted cross that sails behind.
Followed by the tippy-tappy passing passage that ends with a Nasri belter just saved.
Short corner, HUH! what are they good for. Absolutely nothing, say it again!!!!
I hope thet Hammers win the Carling Cup match against Birmigham. Great save by Foster from Drac, then Carrick shoots wide.
Birmingham look clueless.
I heard the Arsenal move on Soccer Saturday
Ask Bob, I am a hater of short corners
Answer: Absolutely Nothing!
Even with David Bentley in the squad?
Dear oh dear
Ipswich are losing at home to Doncaster!
Paul Jewel hasn't changed much at Portman Road
Evra wins another corner for United.
La TIs says that there was a world class save at the Em
How about Tractor Boys vs Hammers for the Carling Cup final. Any thoughts Dave and Steve?
OOOOOHHHH. RVP denied point blank by the Wigan keeper. A foot either side and it was in.
Al Habsi you are living on your luck, mate.
Another corner for United as the onslaught continues. We need another goal to put away this boring, useless side.
I don't think Cesc was touched but we have a free right outside of the box.
Leicester take the lead against Millwall
Now it is 1-1
Carr headed away for another corner as United nearly had a second.
RVP over the ball....
... and into the wall. Damn.
An inauspicious start for Steven Pienaar so far on his Tottenham debut, with the signing from Everton giving the ball away a couple of times early on at St James' Park. Tottenham are just about edging possession in the early stages, though.
AND
Bale looks like he has to go off with a back injury
Into the wall or Row Q... either will do for me from RVP
Zigic and Banjo Boy are on the bench. The Aussies are being held 0-0 by Iraq in the second half of an Asian Cup Quarterfinal
Pompey have had the best chances so far
Cambridge two down
Come on United... score again!
Ball in the net at OT but called back for a "foul'... I didn't see anything
The goal from Smalling is called back for a foul that I did not see. We should be 2-0 ahead.
Goal at Bloomfield Road... for Sunderland
Come on Blackpool.. get something from this match... you're not going to get anything midweek!
Bale has only recently stood upright so it's no wonder his back might ache. On the plus side, his knuckles are healing up nicely.
Cesc on the end of another sweeping move is blocked and the ball is over for a corner. Kos fouls the keeper from the corner.
Bloody cheaters!
Nani can't get a cross over TWICE
Bellamy scores for Cardiff
The other Welsh side fall behind at Barnsley
Cesc wins another free at the edge of the box. Caldwell stood on his ankle and God's chess piece is shaken up.
Theo? takes the free kick or back pass to El Hamsy as it turns out to be.
This is scaring me... we need to score again!
Sunderland take the lead at Blackpool as life after Bent continues.
Keep it up Theo!
"God's chess piece"
Haven't heard that before!
Cardiff two up
I agree Dave. They just need one assist from the referee like they got at St. Andrews.
This guy with the Alice band for Wigan named Stam... any relation?
I guess it is okay for Blue Devil
Watford are right behind Leeds
They just got one with that disallowed goal!
Don't think any relation
Cambridge THREE down
You'll be relieved that after a few minutes, Cesc is running freely. We're enjoying a lot of room on the right. If Theo or Sagna can put a good ball in, it could be paydirt.
Goal somewhere... at the Em... to the Arse!
RVP with the goal
The only problem is that it cost us an away win and two points.United old boy Kieran Richardson scored for Sunderland.
WALLLLLLLLLLLOP!!!!
RVP with a diagonal run just onside and as ferocious a shot as you'll ever see. Oooof, that was traveling.
1-0!
Useless pass there by O'Shea
God's chess piece. Copyright, Alan Davies, 2010, b-t-w.
That goal at the Em has taken away the monopoly of the top two places by the City of Manchester
Leicester City retake the lead against Millwall
Birmingham win their first corner as they show a few signs of life.
Carrick had to come off after that challenge from before
Gibson has come on
I am surprised it wasn't Scholes
Darren Gibson is on for Carrick and Anderson concedes another corner.
Birmingham have a shot but hit wide... come on UNITED!!!!
Did he mean a Pawn?
Man, they just showed a replay of the shot hitting the net. I'd have been frightened to be behind the goal, much less in front of that shot from RVP.
Oh, just offside, but Cesc with a cheeky headed effort that would have been a piss-take if it went in.
West Ham have scored at Goodison by Spector
Spector has given the Hammers the lead at Goodison Park and Leicester now lead Millwall 2-0. Luton are losing 0-2 at home to Gateshead.
Leicester lead 2-1,not2-0.
I'm not liking this spell at Old Trafford
COME ON!
Celtic take the lead against Abderdeen. The score was 9-0 last time they played
A poor cross by Nani.
Hopless by Nani!!!
Pompey have taken the lead against Bob's lot
Matthew could probably teach you that a pawn is just as dangerous to your king as any other piece on the board when it's played by a master!
Wigan are taking turns knocking Cesc down at the moment. One of these clowns needs a card.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
BERBATOV AGAIN!!!
Great quick break.. Rooney makes the right pass to Berbs
PAY ATTENTION NANI!!!
Yes!!! GOAL !! 2-0 UNITED AS DRAC SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH AT THE NEAR POST.
Another point blank save by El Hamsy! And Cesc's follow up is ridden out of bounds. Short. Bleedin'. Corner!!!!! FFS!!!!
Drac just wide as he tries for a hat-trick.
I'll ask Matt!!
ooh Berba goes close to his hat-trick
Is he the Queen? Rook? Bishop? Just asking?
Seriously, do you think he is buggering off to Spain ala Ronaldo?
Joe Ward has given Pompey the lead against Leeds.
Sounds like the Wigan player is reincarnation of the Pole in '73
Fulham take the lead against Stoke
Another Yank scores! Dempsey joins Spector!
Cardiff three up
Theo is one on one and he passes sideways?
Le Tis says he was too unselfish
Watford get a quick goal back 1-3
Watford get a quick goal back 1-3
I did not hear about Drac going top Spain. Is he on of SAF's ten. That will provide a lot of money for new players.
I doubt that he's made up his mind when we're involved in 4 competitions.
OOOOOHH. Cesc from his own half finds Theo's unmarked run. His finish is straight at El Hamzi and Nasri is blocked from scoring from the rebound. What a break from Arsenal and for Wigan.
Could this be Berba's third hat-trick of the season? I think he already has two
One against the Sox
and his five against Blackburn
Sunderland double their lead at Bloomfield Road
Kieran Richardson has scored both Sunderland goals.
Tomaszewski had to move side to side in '74. In fairness, El Hamsy has just needed to make himself big and be in the right position. Arsenal's shots right at him make him look impressive. But he's done his job well.
I was talking about Cesc not Berbs
I am thinking it is the same as Ronny... saying he isn't sure but always going to go
I don't know why Ron thinks Real is bigger than United.
Same with Barca and the Arse
Gibson has a shot but it is right at the third post
Darren Gibson shoots straight at Foster with a shot from just outside the box.
West Ham hit the inside of the post and the ball rebounds across the goal... but not in
And again, El Hamsy tips it over the bar from Nasri.
DAMMIT, he saves well from Cesc and his defender hoofs it away.
Come on Arsenal!!!!
Cesc to Barca must be a cert this summer.
Giggs shoots just wide.
Rooney has to score one from open play at Old Trafford.
When was his last?
Barry Ferguson concedes a bizarre corner, then United win another corner.
He scored against Costa Del Pool in March of last season... was it a pen?
Roon scored from open play on New Years Day at the Hawthorns , but am not sure when the last one from open play happened at OT.
I know but I was asking at OT
I am trying to find out about that goal against Costa(they were that before being Sox)
Two minutes of stoppage time.Luton have pulled a goal back against Gateshead and Celtic lead only 1-0.
YES!!!!
GIGGSY!!!
GREAT GOAL!!!!
What a great cross by Rooney
GOAL 3-0 AS GIGGS FINISHES AT THE FAR POST. WHAT A TACKLE BY DRAC IN MIDFIELD.
Half time... Happy Chappy
Off to shower and shave
Be back soon
United have a 3-0 halftime lead.
United have a 3-0 halftime lead.
The net sheriff killed my link so I lost the last 7 minutes. We should be up 4-0 at least.
I'm sorted on a nice ATDHE link now.
Good to see you lads are keeping the LOB fires burning this morning. I'm about to check out of the hotel in Belize and will be back in Blue Devil HQ later this evening. Cheers!
Have a safe trip Bob.
The second half kicks off from OT.
OK, we're off again. But I just realized that the irritating noise that has started is Trevor Francis' color commentary. Surely some crap team somewhere needs a crap manager and can put us out of our misery.
Just a programming note, the US game vs. Chile is only being shown in Spanish tonight and only on Telefutura. Don't like that? Complain often at the USFed site.
COME ON ROON! He headed wide from a yard out.
The Aussies have defeated Iraq 1-0 in extra time in the quarters of the Asian Cup.
Harry Kewell scored the winner two minutes before the teams were due for a penalty shootout.
Luton are now tied 2-2 with Gateshead after being 0-2 down in the first half.
Arsenal have started the second half at half speed. Wigan in 5 minutes have gotten to our byline 2 more times than they got to it in the first half.
Nasri takes a heavy knock from a guy in blue. No foul but he looks like he's carrying that knock for now.
Now Walcott is limping, Nasri is gimpy, and Djourou is holding his ouchy shoulder. FFS
GOAL AND DRAC COMPLETES A HAT-TRICK. A GREAT GOAL THAT STARTED WITH A CLEARANCE FROM VDS, SUPERB CONTROL FROM ROON, THEN A GRETA CROSS FROM GIGGS AND A GREAT FINISH FROM DRAC.
UNITED LEAD 4-0.
I am back.... I did see Rooney's miss from two feet... will he ever score!
Berbatov with his third hat-trick... lovely jubbley!
Owen is on for Giggs as he gets a great ovation for putting in a great shift with a goal and two assists.
Giggs coming off for Owen... I thought it would be Berba
Dempsey scores from the spot for two nil
Fulham's first pen of the season
Shawcroft was sent off for the pen
Welcome back UWS.
This is frustrating.
We avoided most of the physical stuff Wigan wanted to dish out by keeping a high tempo. Now we're strolling and they are fouling at will.
That said, we get forward just then and even from a tight angle, Walcott gets a shot in at the near post that shouldn't have and didn't trouble their keeper.
We are exposing Birmingham for the useless , unimaginative side that they are.
That is Shawcross not croft
Goal at the Em... two nil RVP again
RVP!!!!
What a beauty, a floated cross from Cesc and Robin takes it on the volley and puts it past El Hamsy. Two lovely ones from RVP.
How was that missed!!! STRUTH... what a miss by Brum
It had to be Shawcross. When will Tony Pullis just take him down to the Trent river and humanely as possible strangle him to death.
Matt Derbyshire does his Roon impersonation with a miss from similar range.
Becchio has tied it up at Fratton Park for Leeds as it is 1-1. Watford have pulled another back at Cardiff as they tail 3-2.
Trevor Francis just asked if Arsenal got a penalty, would Cesc take it or would the guy on the hat-trick take it. Honestly, Trev can join Tony and Ryan down on the banks of the Trent.
Ipswich have tied it up against Doncaster and Hull City have taken the lead at Reading.
Goal at St James' Park... for the hosts
Spurs are blowing it
Ipswich have taken the lead against Doncaster... I missed their equalizer
That didn't last long
Ipswich pegged back
Bournemouth take the lead against Brighton
Cambridge get a goal back against Wrexham
Sotton are two down at Tranmere
I know we play at Southampton next week. Did we play there in the cup a few years ago? I think I remember that we won 0-3
Norwich take the lead at Bramell Lane. Not good news for BD
Oh, I didn't notice that Leeds had tied it up and now they're two one down!!
Ipswich are now 3-2 up!
De Santo misses a sitter while Arsenal defenders watch him rise and head 4 yards wide. Terrible defending.
Cesc and Gary Caldwell's battle continues. GCP gives Caldwell a sly kick and surprisingly doesn't earn a yellow.
Thomas goes through the back of Jack Wilshere and isn't as lucky. First yellow deservedly to Wigan. Caldwell needs a ticket to calm himself down too.
Yup, in the 09 season
Norwich have taken the lead at Sheffield United and Pompey now lead 2-1 against Leeds as John Utaka scored .
Southampton have some anniversary kit being worn this season. It is white with a red slash on it.... looks like United will wear red
"Dimitar Berbatov becomes the first player to score three Premier League hat-tricks in a season since Ruud van Nistelrooy in 2002/2003."
When I was in high school they would wear blue when the played at the Dell.
Leeds have tied it up again
Penalty to the Arse
What a season by Drac. He hasbenn the best EPL player this season and most improved player. IMHO.
Pen and a red card... is Trevor Francis right.... RVP hits row Z!!!
Caldwell fouls Cesc just outside, but on the floor, Cesc tries the most outrageous chip that if it had been on target, El Hamsy would have known nothing about.
Penalty!!! Cesc brought down by Caldwell. Lovely. I'm not usually a fan of sending off a player and awarding a penalty, but Caldwell has been asking for it.
Oh Chrissakes, RVP skies it horribly over. Really, really crap. And now Trev is going on and on about how maybe Cesc should have taken it. Just smack him Martin Tyler, you know you want to.
Goal at the Riverside.. for Middlesboro against Preston
Young Fergie's men beating Hartlepool 3-0
Everton still losing and apparently hopeless
Leicester 3 Millwall 2
RVP mesmerizes and freezes the remaining Wigan defense before hitting the post. So unlucky.
Sheff United tie it up against Norwich
Here comes Arshavin. Nasri goes off. I'd love to see Arshavin put one past El Hamsy so that we can take the rest of this at a stroll and rest up for midweek.
What time is it, Dave?
United's goal difference is +28, Arsenal +25, Citeh +18, Chelsea +19 and Spurs +5
YES... +29
NANI!!!
I did not realize that Darren returned to London Road. That is three goals in five minutes as he makes an instant impact. They need a win as they are in a playoff position.
HEY BOB.... IT IS LEEDS TIME!!!
Where are you?
GOAL !!! 5-0 AS NANI SCORES WITH A GREAT LEFT FOOT FINISH FROM JUST OUTSIDE THE BOX. BIRMINGHAM DESERVE THIS FOR BEING BLOODY CHEATERS.
4-2 Leicester
Roon misses at the back post... Come on WAYNE... hit the big rectangle at the end of the pitch!
I Think Bob is 30 K feet in the air back to Fredonia.
Song lines it up but stumbles before he can shoot.
Nzogbia goes off and old Vaudvillian Emmerson Boyce on. Wigan's PA music should be George Formby's "Washing Windows."
Sunderland will join Spurs on points
Nani fires well over... he never passes and always does the same move and shot! He scores 10% of the time
