Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Still 0-0 from Molineaux in this relegation battle as Wolves have had several chances.
Victor Moses wins a Wigan corner as David Jones takes against his former club.
Rodallega is flagged offside as he heads over with a wide open goal from a great cross.
Some final scores:
Motherwell 1 Celtic 1
Real Madrid 7 Osasuna 1
Still 0-0 in this " Losers Bowl"
Stephen Hunt is flagged offside and the natives are starting to get restless.
Celtic have now taken a 1-2 lead at Motherwell. I thought that was final. There is three minutes plus stoppage time remaining in that match.
Dave Edwards heads wide from a Stephen Hunt cross.
Wolves defend for their lives as Diame founds Di Santo in the box and he wants a penalty as it takes four tame Wolves to tackle him.it may have been a penalty.
Rodallega shoots tamely at Hennessey as they start to take control of this match and the fans are not amused as they jeer Wolves' effort or lack of.
Celtic have won 1-2 at Motherwell . Someone will be pleased even though he may have preferred a more emphatic victory.
Wigan is playing the Spanish style possession game and the Wolves fans moan and groan . Now Wolves break.
A through ball by Stephen Hunt is just too long for Stephen Ward.
Alcaraz has been booked for a late challenge.
Kevin Doyle skips past Alcaraz down the right, but crosses to Al Habsi.
A Superb tackle by Berra on Di Santo to prevent a possible opening goal.
David Jones is called for a push as he heads to his former teammate, Hennessey.
Where is BD and UWS? Are you enjoying some extra kip?
How did Rodallega miss? I thought that was an opening goal for wigan?
GOAL!!! 1-0 WOLVES AS THEY GO STRAIGHT DOWN THE OTHER END TO SCORE AS KEVIN DOYLE GOES DOWN THE RIGHT TO PASS TO JAIME O'HARA TO SCORE SECONDS AFTER RODALLEGA MISSED AN OPEN GOAL.
Wolves fans are singing after that goal. Kevin Doyle has been superb for Wolves today even though Wigan has been the slightly better team. It's all about scoring goals.
This may be a priceless goal for Wolves.
As things stand it appears that the relegation zone will continue to be occupied by Lancashire teams.
Morning, MUR! I have absolutely no idea what bloody time it is at this point in Chicago. I think Leicester v. Leeds kicks off in about 50 minutes so I'm going to run out quickly to the local Dunkin' Donuts and pick up some grub. Be back in a tick.
Lots of possession by Wigan ,but no chances on goal.I think this is why they are struggling.
Good Morning BD. You are absolutely correct.
CHEERS!
PENALTY !!! STEPHEN HUNT IS CALLED FOR A CLUMSY CHALLENGE ON EMERSON BOYCE. THE CORRECT DECISION BY LEE PROVAN WHO WAS IN A PERFECT POSITION.
GOAL ! 1-1 AS HENESSEY SAVES THE PENALTY FROM BEN WATSON, BUT WATSON PUTS AWAY THE REBOUND.
A perfect time for Wigan to score , just a few minutes before halftime. To be honest they had not looked like scoring, so Mick will be furious with Stephen Hunt.
Al Habsi punches away a free kick from Jaime O'Hara.
Victor Moses wins a corner after fancy foot work as there will be two minutes of stoppage time.
David Jones takes the free kick and Lee Provan blows for a Wigan foul. Then Al Habsi is out to get a Wolves through ball.
It's halftime and 1-1 in a tense relegation battle. I wonder what the second half has in store for us.
Kevin Bond is in charge of Spurs today as Harry recovers from heart surgery. Here is wishing Harry a speedy recovery.
Matt Jarvis is on for Guediora. I am surprised that Jarvis did not start.
The second half is underway from Molineaux.
It is quiet at Molineaux.
The cross from Jaime O'Hara is far too high and the fans moan and groan.
I'm back with my DD. With the break coming up, it's a perfect time to sack a manager, so Mick and Roberto will be cognizant of that.
Victor Moses shot when he should have crossed and shoots well wide from a nearly impossible angle.
I agree. I will not tell my wife as DD is her favorite and the nearest one is several hours away from us.
Di Santo has a shot deflected wide for a corner.
It is actually a goal kick.
Now you know what it is like to be in my time zone.
Leeds kick off at Leicester in about twenty minutes.
I'll enjoy my coffee and bowtie with Elizabeth in mind. I've got your link through First Row up and running. Cheers!
Will we switch to Leicester vs Leeds in about twenty minutes?
That's my plan.
Two Wolves crosses are cleared.
I second that. If you come to Texas you will be in this time zone.
GOAL! Wolves back in front. Not a pretty goal.
GOAL !!! 2-1 WOLVES AFTER A SURPRISINGLY GREAT RUN BY KARL HENRY LED TO A GREAT SAVE BY AL HABSI FROM AN O'HARA HEADER , THEN DAVE EDWARDS PUT AWAY THE REBOUND.
Al Habsi did so well to save twice but he couldn't do anything about Dave Edwards' finish.
2-1!
How does it fell being in my time zone?
A great run by Victor Moses leads to a blocked cross by Berra.
Was that a hand ball by Stephen Hunt?
Victor Moses crosses straight to Hennessey.
Wigan seem to have only one game plan - launching it long at Rodalegga. Have they been doing that all match?
Owen Coyle is also part of the sack race as Bolton kick off against tricky Stoke at the same time as Leeds.I predict KD will be less physical than Stoke and will be taught a few lessons today.
I'm playing a blast of the old MOT now.
No. They played the Spanish style possession game in the first half, dominating possession, but not testing Hennessey at all.
How was the party last night?
A great run and cross by Di Santo, but no Wigan players had made a run.
I don't see a link at present for the Leeds match v. Leicester. We ay be out of luck for that one.
Di Santo wins a corner off of Jarvis.
The corner from David Jones is headed out.
Is Leicester vs Leeds on firstrow sports?
Albert Crusat is on for Ben Watson in an attacking move.
Simon Grayson's team choice was always going to be interesting after the 0-5 drubbing in midweek and so it is:
Leicester: Schmeichel, Peltier, Mills, Bamba, Konchesky, Gallagher, Wellens, Danns, King, Howard, Nugent. Subs: St Ledger, Johnson, Beckford, Weale, Schlupp.
United: McCarthy, Connolly, O'Brien, Kisnorbo, White, Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton, Pugh, McCormack, Keogh, Subs: Cairns, Brown, Bromby, Becchio, Sam.
Referee: O Langford
I don't see a link on any of the usual sites. We may just have to keep watching the Wolves v. Wigan and follow the text.
You are correct. Bolton vs Stoke is on instead. Why is that crap match on instead? I guess they want to watch Owen Coyle before he is sacked.
I missed the third goal looking for a link. Who scored? It is 3-1 Wolves.
That sounds like a plan , BD.
Foul by Alcaraz on O'Hara . He needs to be careful as he is on a card.
What superb save by Al Habsi from a header off the free kick . Corner wolves.
Sorry - I missed it as well for the same reason. Ward with the goal in the 66th minute. Here's how 365 deescribed it:
"Despite being under pressure for large chunks of the game, Wolves have a two-goal lead. Al Habsi makes another good save from O'Hara but it falls to Ward, whose deflected shot finds the corner."
Kick off time at the Walker's. Come on, you Whites!
Wigan seem to have no more ideas.
Old friends Schmiechel and JB will be playing for the Svenless Foxes. Here is hoping that the Foxes are at sixes and Svens today!
MY LINK JUST CRASHED!
This result, if it holds up, will have Wigan rooted to the bottom of the league and Wolves springing up to 13th.
Bolton have a chance to gain on Everton later on but they'd have to beat Stoke 10-0 in order to jump out of the relegation zone.
Back and running . I sent a crash report.
Bolton is more likely to lose 10-0. Their poor run started with a 5-0 semifinal defeat to Stoke.
The other Championship matches today are Brighton vs Barnsley and Reading vs Birmingham.
Rodallega has got the hook.
Connor Salmon is on for Rodallega and David Jones and is replaced by James MacArthur.
Rodallega left his shooting boots on the bus. Roberto Martinez should have started the bus driver up front.
we could watch Bolton vs Stoke after this , but I am not so sure that I would be interested in that match.
WOW! Bolton have taken the lead vs Stoke.
A decent save by Hennesey from the header
A fight breaks out in the box before the corner can be taken.
Only nine goals to go for Bolton.
Handbags between Berra and Alcaraz.
Milijas is on for the excellent O'Hara.
From LUFC.com: "United manager Simon Grayson handed a debut to loan goalkeeper Alex McCarthy in place of Paul Rachubka and also recalled Andy O'Brien in place of the suspended Tom Leeds.
The Leicester side included former United goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel while ex-Leeds front man Jermaine Beckford was among the subs.
The home side were still on the hunt for a new manager, following the departure of Sven Goran Eriksson, while United went into the clash on the back of a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Blackpool."
Roberto should be dusting off his resume, methinks.
Hennesey punches away the free kick from Victor Moses.
Just wide by Connor Salmon.
I agree. Roberto may choose to work full time at ESPN 2! 0)
I wonder where McCarthy is on loan from.
Blackpool - he was their third-string keeper in the Premiership last season.
Diame shoots well wide for Wigan.
That is why he couldn't play on wednesday.
I guess we could switch to Bolton vs Stoke in a few minutes.
ESPN 2 would be glad to see Roberto win the sack race.
Four minutes of stoppage time.
We're back up to 10th on the strength of kicking off. A win, though, would bounce us back up to 7th.
Boyce wins a corner off of Stephen Ward.
We want a Leeds win!
That's it and Wolves have a vital 3-1 win over Wigan.
Wolves have broken their losing streak today at Molineux. A big win for Mick - a terrible loss for Roberto. He'll be sacked in the morning IMHO.
What a cheeky goal for Kevin Davies!!
Still no goals in the Championship as Bolton still lead Stoke 1-0.
Chris Eagles put Bolton 2-0 up as the link was loading.
Cor - great goal by Chris Eagles!
Bolton are 2-0 up. 8 goals to go!
A great finish by Eagles after a comical clearance by the normally reliable Begovic.
Still 0-0 in all the Championship matches.
Stoke is suffering from a Europa league hangover.
Did you hear that Kevin Bond is in charge of Spurs today due to Harry's heart surgery.
From LUFC.com: "McCarthy was called upon to make his first save on 15 minutes when he had tipped over a chipped shot from just inside of the area."
I'd love to see a Reading win today, as Brum still have three matches in hand even after today's match, given their Europa League commitments.
I agree.Leeds needs a win too. A draw doesn't help too much today.
KD heads wide from a free kick.
Based on the LUFC comment, it's good that Rachubka was dropped.
Still goalless in the Championship.
Yeah - at first I thought he'd been taken off injured but Grayson withdrew him at half time. Apparently the crowd was chanting "Off, off, off" as he came off at half-time.
That seems a bit out of order from the Elland Road faithful.
I agree. Strange behavior!
More from LUFC.com: "United were slightly the more inventive of the two sides during a tight opening 25 minutes or so and, after a couple of good Paul Connolly deliveries into the box, Ross McCormack felt he had a good penalty shout after going to ground while going up for header.
Danny Pugh also tried his luck on the half-hour with a low shot which went wide of the upright following more constructive build-up play by Leeds. At the other end, Leicester were far more direct, and Paul Gallagher hurried a shot wide after a long punt from Schmeichel."
The long throw from Delap results in nowt.
Still all Bolton as Stoke continue their poor road form.
The poor run of Bolton results started with Stoke and could end with Stoke.
I am sure you are on LUFC.com, BD.
Catching practice for Jussi.
Jermaine Pennant is down injured, holding his knee.
Still no goals in the Championship today. That's unusual. Only a few minutes left in the first half.
The announcer blames Begovic for both Bolton goals.
I already mentioned the semifinal,Mr. Announcer. Get with the programme!
Jussi has only made one save in the first half. Two minutes of stoppage time.
A scramble in the Bolton box, but they clear.
Halftime and Bolton lead Stoke 2-0
Finally a goal in the Championship as Brighton take the lead over Barnsley in stoppage time.
Great finish by KD, but Begovic should have done a better job covering the near post.
Brighton have taken the lead through Gordon Greer. They were flying at the beginning of the season but have gone off the boil lately.
Half time at Leicester - still 0-0.
Brighton lead Barnsley 1-0 at halftime and it is 0-0 in the other two Championship[ matches at halftime.
Fulham vs Spurs kicks off from Craven Cottage with Kevin Bond in charge of Spurs today.
Danny Murphy wins an early corner and Brad is forced to make a reflex save from a header off the corner.
The header was from Steve Sidwell as the second half kicks off from the Reebok.
A great long free kick from Pennant leads to head tennis in the Bolton box and end with a Stoke player offside.
Fulham easily clear a Spurs corner.
Muamba has a shot blocked from a Bolton corner.
Jerome heads wide from a Walters cross.
Brad is bundles off the ball by Clint while gathering a cross and Clint comes the worse of the two.
I'm back from packing up my gear to make a quick exit after the second half at Leicester. I'm onto the Fulham v. Spurs match.
GOAL 0-1 SPURS AS BALE SCORES AT THE NEAR POST WITH A DEFLECTED EFFORT AFTER SCHWARZER FAILED TO PUNCH AWAY A LENNON CROSS AFTER A GREAT RUN BY KYLE WALKER.
GOAL! Spurs are off and running after less than ten minutes. Looked like a Chris Baird own goal in the end.
I am doing both matches. We have to leave at the end of the match too as Melanie has a concert today.
Still 0-0 at The Walkers.
The link is not doing too well in the second half. There is audio , but off and on video.
J A Rise had a shot clear the stadium!
I'd have a packet of salt and vinegar (my least favorite flavour) if it brought a goal for the Super Whites at Leicester.
If Leeds win we have to celebrate with crisps. It is surprising to see Leeds involved in a 0-0 match!
From LUFC.com: "United had looked solid during the opening period and had tried to play the better football, although the game was finely balanced when the second half started with Leeds enjoying another spell of possession.
United almost had an opportunity when Schmeichel made a poor clearance, but Keogh was unable to get enough hook on his shot to lift it back over the Dane."
True enough - we've only had one clean sheet this season.
Not sure at all about this lavender scented strip that Spurs are wearing today. Are they Fiorentina in disguise?
Parker has taken an elbow to the schnoz and is down for the count.
GOAL !!! 3-0 BOLTON
kLASNIC SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH OFF A CROSS BY EAGLES.
tWO CORNERS FOR bOLTON AS pARKER IS DOWN FOR sPURS.
Brighton have extended their lead through Ryan Harley. 2-0 their for the Seagulls who have jumped over us into 10th now.
cap is at Craven Cottage , watching Spurs as per his contract.
Wow - only 7 goals needed by Bolton now in order to lift themselves out of the dropzone.
He does seem to keep a close eye on Spurs.
Brad saves from Clinto.
Great save by Brad from Clint.
Stoke win another corner.
More from LUFC.com: "It was United's turn to do some defending when Leicester threatened and O'Brien made two great clearances, despite appearing to need treatment for a knock. From Leicester's first corner of the second period, the ball squirmed its way over the bar following a stabbed shot.
Leeds were getting men behind the ball when the hosts were in possession, and while United were intricate with the ball, Leicester moved it quickly and got men forward at pace."
The corner sails over everyone ad is out for a goal kick,.
Time for some changes from Simon Grayson, I would think. Becchio on for Keogh has been the usual change.
Jones for Pennant, whitehead for Whelan , and Higginbotam on for ?
Can't be much more than 15 minutes left now.
YESSS! LEEDS TAKE THE LEAD AT THE WALKERS!
tIME TO CELEBRATE WITH SOME CRISPS.
From LUFC.com: "On 66 minutes, United had what appeared to be a decent penalty shout waved away when a well-placed McCormack again went down under pressure while looking to get on the end of a great cross from Connolly."
Shame.
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Adam Clayton with a priceless goal for the Whites!
0-1! Hang on lads!
Up to 7th now, edged out by Palace on goal difference.
Adam Clayton scored the vital goal for Leeds.
Adam Clayton scored the vital goal for Leeds.
I'll be stopping on the road for some crisps if we can hang on to this lead.
The description of the Clayton goal from LUFC.com:
"Leeds were rewarded for what was shaping up into being a good away performance when the ball broke to Clayton on the edge of the box and the midfielder unleashed a thunderbolt of a strike past Schmeichel and into the top corner.
It was a wonderful goal from the youngster and put United in a great position going into the final 20 minutes or so."
Bolton now lead 4-0. I missed the goal, checking to see who scored for Leeds. It was worth it.
Wow - Reading have taken the lead as well. What a wonderful Sunday this is shaping up to be!
You deserve to celebrate. A great reaction from Leeds after that horrible result.
Six goals to go for Bolton. Improbable, yes, but no one would have predicted a 4-0 scoreline for them ahead of the match.
Predictably, Becchio has come on for Keogh.
Just a wee bit over ten minutes to play now. Hang on, lads!
Goal !!! 5-0 Bolton as Wheater heads on a corner and Klasnic scores with an easy finish!
it gets better for Leeds as reading have taken the lead over Birmingham.
Our old boy Jermaine Beckford has predictably been introduced for what should prove to be a lively last ten minutes at the Walker's.
Five goals to go for Bolton. Who would bet against them now? They've whittled their goal difference down from -14 to -9 now.
Great save by Begovic from Muamba who had just the keeper to beat.
Tuncay is on for Kalsnic, who gets a standing ovation.
