The Final Hurdle!
The last four slots for Euro 2012 Poland/Ukraine will be confirmed this evening as the second legs of the playoffs kick off. Unfortunately, as usual on a Tuesday, I'll be teaching all afternoon, so I'll be merely in and out following the scores. But feel free to use this thread to update the LOB throng.

Here are the fixtures:
Croatia (3) v. Turkey (0)
Montenegro (0) v. Czechs (2)
Ireland (4) v. Estonia (0)
Portugal (0) v. Bosnia (0)
Additionally England kick off with Sweden around 3pm EST in a fairly meaningless friendly match.
It's just before 2pm now and I'm about to head into my class. Croatia and Turkey are about to kick off. Croatia obviously favorites in that one. Indeed, only Portugal v. Bosnia and to some extent Montenegro v. Czech Republic are in the balance today.
I'm back at my first class break and it's 0-0 in Croatia. The Turks need three goals in the second half to claw that one back. Not happening. Good riddance.
No goals yet in the others.
England are about to kick off at Wemberley. Here's the starting XI:
Hart, Walker, Cahill, Terry, Baines, Rodwell, Jones, Barry, Walcott, Zamora, Downing.
Subs: Carson, G. Johnson, A. Cole, Lescott, Parker, Lamps, Milner.
Only one goal in the Euro qualifiers . Ireland have a 1-0 halftime lead over Estonia. They lead 5-0 on aggregate and will be in their second Euro this summer.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Engerlund lead Sweden 1-0 while the U.S. have their first win under Jurgen Klinnsman as they won2-3 in Slovenia.
Engelrund lead through a goal by Gareth Barry of all people while The U.S. lead 1-3 at halftime and held on to win 2-3. The U.S. scorers were Edson Buddle , Clint and a penalty from Jozy.
Bob's Belize won 0-2 at St. Vincent and the Grenadines in what was a moot point as Guatemamla had already won the group. Therefore Guatemala advance to the next round. Sorry Bob.
A correction. Belize are winning 0-2 in the second half.
I'm back at my break. Shame about my Belizers - it would have been lovely to get a chance to see a qualifier down there in Belmopan in January.
Cristiano Ronaldo has come up trumps for the Portugeezers - they lead Bosnia 1-0 in that crucial second legger.
It looks as if Gareth Barry's headed effort for England has gone down as an own goal. Shame - he doesn't score that often.
Still 1-0 at Wembley.
Portugal now lead 2-0 thanks to a goal by Nani . Bob will be pleased. The Czech Republeic won 0-1 in Montenegro to win 3-0 on aggregate while Estonia have tied it up in Dublin, but the Irish still lead 5-1 on aggregate.
The final score between Ireland and Estonia is 1-1 so the Irish qualify for the Euros with a 5-1 aggregate win while Croatia vs Turkey has finished 0-0 so Croatia qualify by winning 3-0 on aggregate.
Belize win 0-2 at St. Vincent and the Grenadines even though Guatemala already qualified.
Bosnia have just scored in Lisbon as they trail 2-1 on the night and on aggregate just a few minutes before halftime. It should be an interesting second half.
Engerlund have defeated Sweden 1-0 while Portugal lead Bosnia 2-1 at halftime. If Bosnia tie it up would they adavance on the away goals rule?
Colombia lead Argentina 1-0 at halftime in a CONMEBOL qualifier
A shock halftime as Costa Rica lead Spain 2-0 in a friendly.
Skippy Ronaldo scored a second for Portugal to give them a 3-1 lead, then Senad Lulic was sent off a few minutes laster for violent conduct to reduce Bosnia to ten men. It will be an uphill battle for the Bosnians after trailing by only one goal at the half.
I'm back after my first class and happy to see that England have prevailed 1-0 due to that first half o.g. 365 comments that, "It was far from a classic, but England buried their Swedish hoodoo with a 1-0 win at Wembley to ensure Fabio Capello's side finished 2011 unbeaten. Rodwell, Walcott, Downing and man of the match Walker all had positive matches."
The ten men of Bosnia have scored and now trail 3-2 in a thrilling second leg in Lisboa. GAME ON!
Hello BD. I stay late for after school tutorial on Tuesdays, so I am here as there is a thrilling last twenty minutes in Lisboa.
Helder Postiga, the fromer Spurs flop has scored to give Portugal a 4-2 lead in a wild match in Lisboa.
Argentina have tied it up in Bogota. It is now 1-1.
Miguel Veloso has scored to give Portugal a 5-2 lead and all, but seal their place in the Euros next summer.
Helder Postiga has scored his second to give Portugal a 6-2 lead as it is now starting to become farcical in Lisboa.
Portugal have defeated Bosnia 6-2 on the night and on aggreagte to become the final team to qualify for Euro 2012. Argentina now lead 1-2 in Colombia while Ecuador lead Peru 2-0.
