Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

i have been hopeless this fall but I will miss the match again for Tom's playoff game this afternoon
The seasons are almost finished!!
Hiya, UWS - I'm back at my break. Best of luck to Tom with his play-off game today. I still remember that dreary day up at ECC last season. Hope it doesn't end that way again.
Leeds v. Charlton is still at 0-0, but somehow we've jumped from 9th to 8th with Brighton falling behind at table topping Leicester.
Seriously good luck Tom.
Sensational effort just now from Chicha to stay up and then sweep a long diagonal ball to a free Rooney. Deserved to be a goal, that.
Actually it was Nani's shot. But it would have been Chica's Herculean effort to get to that point that people would be talking about.
Trust Chicha to get good again just when we need him to suck in WC qualifying.
Bang! Chicha scores the go-ahead. 3-2 United now.
That may be the send RVP cross for a Chica headed goal today. Watch his first. Text-book predatory strikers header.
The US is so dead when we face Mexico in the qualifiers.
We really need three points today against a bottom half side. That would take us up into the playoff positions as things currently stand.
Come on, you Whites!
Nope, Cleverboy's cross for Chicha's 2nd.
De Gea in the spirit of fair play throws the ball out straight to a Braga player who can't quite convert. Keystone Cop moment from the Man U defence.
Back at the 67th minute mark and my boys are locked in a 1-1 draw. Not really good enough.
Braga pouring forward in the 86th. They are a handful and completely on the front foot.
3 minutes of extra time to withstand. United still 3-2 ahead.
Michael Jackson circa Thriller could have leveled this just now. He didn't.
That's it. 3-2 United wins. You could say United was lucky today against a very spritely Braga, especially Alan. But United came back from 2-down, and scored the necessary 3 unanswered goals to win this one.
MJ Circa Thriller is Ze Deus. Google and picture him in a red Member's Only and see if I'm kidding.
I love this stat. RVP at 11.45 kilometers is the top Energizer Bunny for you lot. Please, please run his creaky ass into the ground like this some more.
Juve draw with Njordvkagenborgland 1-1 despite pink-booted and Paddy Panted goal threat Nik Bendtner being given a rare 30 minutes to play today.
Chelsea lose to Waxtap! 2-1.
Back at the end of my classes. 1-1. Not happy with that at all. And yet...we've jumped two places as all of the top sides bar Boro either drew or lost. So we're edging ever closer to the playoff spots. Still - it feels like two dropped points at home to a rubbish side. We need to start scoring again.
Tom's team won 6-0. They are now 15-1
The game Bob was talking about would have been last weekend and SUNY Adirondack got a bye. They have gone past the next round with today's win.
They play in the Regional semi final on Saturday against reigning National Champs and the only team to beat them this year.. .Herkimer!
Guess I won't be around for the Saturday footer!
Matt has his play off game in Glens Falls on Saturday night!
Fantastic news, UWS. Best of luck against Herkimer. As I mentioned with Tom, "Never even 'eard of 'em!"
I'm back Wednesday afternoon and am about to shoot home to watch this afternoon's CL festivities in the comfort of my own surroundings at Blue Devil HQ

Just home in time for kick-off. Gary Taphouse and The Neviller on the commentary this afternoon.
All Ajax pressure so far....
The other big fixtures today:
Arsenal v. Shalke
Dortmund v. Real
Malaga v. Milan
Oh - Eriksson came mighty close to opening the scoring for Ajax with a clever half-volley just sliced wide.
Another great fizzing shot by Eriksson - Ajax have started really well here.
In Group A action, Porto have taken the lead against Kiev. Porto are running away with that group.
GOAL! Nasri tucks in with aplomb after a sublime pass out of the back from Micah Richards.
0-1 Citeh!
In earlier action, Zenit have completed a 1-0 win over Anderlecht.
Citeh desperately need this win today - and will hope for a 0-0 draw in the other match.
As wel get closer to half-time, Kiev have leveled it against Porto.
And PSG have taken the lead in Zagreb.
Arsenal are still locked at 0-0 with Schalke. I'm sure that they won't be fussed about that, as they've already got two wins out of the rubbish sides in the group.
Wow - Dortmund have gone 1-0 up against Real!
Cristiano has equalized in quick order for Real.
GOAL! De Jong fires Ajax back into this match. No more than they deserved in truth.
Bloody hell - FSC missed the kick-off of the second half while they were showing Heineken adverts. Pull your fingers out, lads!
Ajax are playing 17th century Dutch painter Vermeer in goal today. He's lovely with the still lifes but he didn't look so clever on that Nasri goal.
In Group B, Montpelier have taken a 1-0 lead over Olympiacos.
Porto are back in the lead against Kiev 2-1. And PSG have extended their lead in Zagreb. 0-2 there.
GOAL! Citeh are in real trouble as Moisande rises magnificently from the corner and flicks home a lovely header. 2-1 Ajax!
The Neviller is banging on against zonal marking at headers - and you can see why! The Citeh defenders were like statues at that corner.
If this result holds up, Citeh will be bottom of the group and you have to think that Citeh's CL campaign will be slipping away from them this season.
Mancini is going to have to make change now - and quick! They desperately need a win today.
Lescott is coming off for Kolarov, so Mancini will be going to a 2-5-2 formation now. Three at the back! Wow!
GOAL! Ericksson makes it 3-1 with a deflected effort that gave Hart no chance at all!
Over and out for Citeh now. With Chelski motoring along in the Premiership, how long before Mancini gets his marching orders?
Wow - Joe Hart keeps Citeh alive with a great save one on one with Sanah.
And then Vermeer saves from Dzeko - this game is wide open now!
More firepower now - Tevez on for Barry. That should have been the change 10 minutes ago. They need at least two goals if not three.
Schmeltzer has added a second goal for Dortmund.
Excellent is Balo Show time!
Arsenal seem to be settling for a 0-0 draw.
Bloody hell - that's not good. The Hunter has put Schalke 0-1 up in the 75th minute. Panic stations now at the Emirates!
Kolarov to swing a free kick in now.
Inside the last ten minutes now!
Blimey - Schalke have won it now - 0-2 as Affelay adds to the score.
A terrible night for the English as Citeh have gone down to Ajax 3-1 and the Dutch fans are doing the Poznan with some glee in the stands.
