Derby Day in the Premiership!
Morning, chaps! I'm holed up in the Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa in Austin, TX experiencing the early morning schedule that MUR is accustomed to this morning. I'll be around for the North London Derby this morning before jumping on a shuttle at 10am CST to head back to WNY. Later today, it's Steven Gerrard's last derby day for Liverpool. Join me for all the derby action, won't you?

Subs: Szczesny, Gibbs, Gabriel, Rosicky, Walcott, Flamini, Akpom.

A lot of chatter this week about whether Alexis might shake off his hammy injury and appear today. Wenger has left him out. It's Welly and Giroud up front for the Gunners.
A trafffic jam caused Arsenal to arrive a wee bit late on their bus apparently. Not the best preparation for today's early kickoff.
So Tottenham welcome back Nabil Bentaleb and Eric Dier as starters. North London derby fixture Emmanuel Adebayor, back at Spurs on loan, doesn’t even make the squad.
Hey Bob
I won't be around all day
I have to go off to a Mathcounts competition just after kick off
I'll be able to listen to the matches on my phone at least
Take care... enjoy no snow!
The implications for the table couldn't be greater. As it has been in recent years, this is a match that's all about fourth place and Champions League qualification. Arsenal start in 5th, two points ahead of Spurs in 6th. A win for the Gunners at Shite Fart today would put them (temporarily) ahead of Soton in 4th. A win for Spurs would leapfrog them over their bitter rivals in 5th.
Morning, UWS - sorry we'll be missing you this morning. Enjoy your math nerds competition. :-)
Good morning Bob. I will be around for the first 20 minutes of the match. I will be leaving for a similar reason, but the one I'm going to is for all subjects.
I chatted with the Gooner after I chatted with you. He won't be watching with dad, claiming he's nonpartisan. Is that naughty?
Teams warming up now while the away fans are struggling to get into the ground ahead of this one.
Kickoff is in 18 minutes and they haven't let in the fans yet. Why are they waiting till the last minute to let in fans and tens of thousands at a time?
Morning, MUR! Great to have you around for the early part of this one.
They don't call it Shite Fart Lane for no reason, do they?
Steve Bower and Owen Hargreaves on the mic this morning.
A bit of a ruck outside the ground, apparently.
Ta, mate. I guess not. They got their head up their Arse . No need for police if they had let the fans in. Don't most teams in most sports let them in about an hour before kickoff?
Hargreaves accent is incredibly confusing now. Is he Canadian? Is he British? Is he German? No one knows.
I think he's Canadian with British parents. Am I correct?
Hopefully, Gooner will be able to celebrate with some Coq Au Vin today.
Teams coming out of the tunnel now - marvelous atmosphere inside the ground.
The teams are heading out among an incredible atmosphere.
Yeah - you are right. But then he spent a good deal of time in Germany with Bayern, which somewhat confused his accent apparently. He's one who never really proved himself at OT.
Im' sorry for not responding to your post earlier this week. Great news as Harry definitely did not have the team reddy for prem action
Owen Hargreaves had lots and lots of problems with injuries . I would say that contributed to his problems more than anything else. I think he would have done well had he stayed fit. Hard to blame SAF for that one.
They're off from SFL.
And Spurs get us underway - I'm much happier with the new camera angle - the old one at WHL used to be way up in the rafters.
Time to gun down the potato blight.
will Danny Rose be a thorn in the Gunners side?
Arsenal have dropped deep early doors, perhaps looking to hit Spurs on the break. In truth, a point would do Arsenal here.
You are correct . A great camera angle.
As they say, every Rose has it's thorn.
I think a draw would be good for both teams. If the Gunners win then they go up to third, although that may be temporary.
Will QPR be ready for the Saints now that unhappy Harry is gone?
BOOM BOOM, BOB. To be honest , those formative days at ER as a Yorkshire rose helped.
Oh - a decent break from Arsenal through Monreal but his ball went behind Giroud.
And now it's Spurs on the break. Kane tries a curler and Ospina had to turn it around.
Ospins does well to turn around a curling effort from Harry Kane on the break off a great pass from Dembele and started by Rose.
Ospina needs a wee bit of treatment after having made that save.
Ospina is down after that save. Did he pull something? Su Su Sudio!
Great singing from both sets of supporters.
I guess he's okay
Phil Collins fan Sussudio warming up just in case he's called in to service.
The corner taken short to Eriksen, whose cross is headed away. The Spuds keep possession.
He just can't smoke any fags. Right, mate?
Late there by Giroud - later in the match that might have been yellow. Martin Atkinson keeping his cards tight.
Naughty by Dier on Giroud. Kate will not be pleased.
Ospina drops the cross from Rose then gathers. Then Harry Kane is flagged offside. That was close. He may have been on and off to the races.
Absolutely right.
A textbook challenge by Rose on Wellie.
GOAL! Mesut Ozil opens the scoring for the Gunners!
GOAL !!! OZIL GIVES THE GUNNERS THE LEAD.
Great break by Welly, but it was a bit lucky that Giroud miscued right into Ozil's path. Nice settled volley while the recalled Dier kept him onside.
gIROUD WON THE BALL IN MIDFIELD AND wELLIE USED HIS SPEED TO GET DOWN THE RIGHT PAST rOSE. He passed to Giroud , who played a wonderful dumy and Ozil was unmarked at the far post, blasting it past Lloris.
Oh - end to end stuff here. Rose was wide open and he went for goal. Ospina tipped it away and Monreal cleared.
Great save by Opsina from Rose then cleared away for a corner by the Nacho man . The corner was gathered by Ospina.
If I understand that's advantage MUFC Academy over the LUFC Academy in the war of the Roses. Right mate?
Mason needs to settle down. He's already been booked.
I hear cursing in the streets of Alex as I know Gooner is demanding a penalty for hand ball on Vertonghen and I would have to agree.
Yes - I was surprised at how easily Welly stripped Rose for pace on that goal move.
Could easily have been given.
I have to bugger off . It was great chatting with you, Have a safe trip back and I hope to chat with you tomorrow.
CHEERS MATE!
Decent move after Caz had been dispossessed, ending with Bentaleb hitting one left footed from distance.
Cheers, mate! Have a safe trip!
Half way through this first half and everything is going to Wenger's plan so far. It's been a cracking match.
Both sets of fans baying for blood.
Decent corner there but Ospina comes to collect well. He's been very good.
Theo biding his time on the bench. He should be launched in the second half.
Mason with a great effort from distance. Ospina tipped it around.
Half hour gone now - Arsenal still on top through that Beaker goal.
Oh - Bellerin sent a teasing ball over but no Arsenal striker was challenging for it.
Oh - the ball came to Lamela in the box but he was already reaching for it.
Pochettino looks a wee bit grumpy.
Oh - Ozil really did poorly there after another great break through Welly.
Harry Kane picks up the first yellow card of this encounter. A real striker's challenge on Giroud.
Ospina came but didn't quite connect with that punch. Dangerous.
And now Kane fizzes one wide of the mark. He is very direct - I love that about the boy.
Flag was up but how did that ball stay out of the net? Kane again the danger man.
And that’s that for the half. Before the players depart, Rose and Welbeck, both grown men, go nose to nose, chests puffed out in the try-me-go-on-try-me style. They’re pulled apart, and everyone makes off down the tunnel. Chances are the next 45 minutes will provide much entertainment, if all this is anything to go by.
Teams back out of the second half now. How will Wenger play this one. Will he be tempted to do a Mourinho and stick a holding player on at the hour mark.
First chance for Bentley but he miscued it badly.
Welly has bundled Rose over there awkwardly. Atkinson lets him off the hook.
Caz pulls the trigger but Lloris is able to tip around.
A win for the Gunners here would definitely put pressure on United to get something at Upton Park.
Better pressure now for Arsenal.
Kos gets a yellow for a wild challenge there on Kyle Walker.
Oh - Mason's shot is deflected and it could have gone anywhere.
GOAL! Kane scores again!
Great cross over there and Ospina could merely tip it away. Kane was in the right place to mop it up.
That goal certainly changes the complexion of things.
Oh - Arsenal are really on the ropes now with Spurs pushing for a second goal.
An hour gone now - the changes will be fascinating to see.
Oh - Welly went for goal there with a curler and Lloris did magnificently.
Oh - Koz had a free header! Straight at Lloris.
Oh - Kane was nearly in there again but the flag was up. It's heart in mouth time for Arsenal.
Ospina's a decent shot stopper but he's got to hang on to a few more of these. He keeps giving up tasty rebounds for the Spurs forwards to gobble up.
Flamini warming up now - is Wenger going to settle for a draw?
Caz off for Tomas Rosicky now. Surprised that Ramsey didn't come off.
Finally Eriksson has a chance from a good free kick position.
Oh - just over the top from Eriksson.
Nacer Chadli to come on in a moment.
Fifteen minutes left for the deadlock to be broken.
Oh - Giroud should have done better with that header from Ozil's cross.
Apparently the pie of the day at Shite Fart features Argentina grilled beef and chimmichurri. Sounds a bit posher than most.
I thought that Ryan Mason had been booked in the first half - he has been now.
Just over ten minutes left - will both sides settle for a draw now rather than risking a loss?
Lamela with another bad miss. He seems rubbish on his left.
More Arsenal pressure now in the last ten minutes.
Giroud picks up a yellow now for an innocuous challenge on Mason.
Spurs have really slowed their pace down and Arsenal are trying to take advantage.
Somehow Theo has come on and I didn't see it.
GOAL! Kane has won it for Spurs!!!!!
That's ten goals in nine matches and Kane is the new White Hart Lane hero.
Great cross from Bentaleb and Kane jumped taller than Koz and fired in. Great header!
Can't fault the way that Spurs have played - they've had the better of this one.
Coq Au Vin departs and Akpom comes on. Not sure what the point of that is from Wenger.
Shite Fart Lane is bouncing now.
Tottenham would grab the fourth spot with this win.
Four minutes of stoppage time to play.
Ozil wins a vital free kick. Arsenal must do something with this one.
Poor, poor free kick from Ozil.
Monreal wins a late, late corner. This could be the last chance.
Why is Ozil taking it? His distribution has been rubbish all day long. And is again.
Ramsey picks up a late yellow for blocking Bentaleb's run.
That should be that.
And that's it - Atkinson blows for the end of a match which sees an epic Spurs win through two goals from the hero of the moment Harry Kane.
I'm off for a shower and will return for the first half of the 10 am kickoffs.
I'm back for Chelski v. Villa and the rest of the 10am kickoffs.
GOAL! Well, that didn't take long. Hazard with the neat finish!
Terrific team goal there through Oscar, Wilian and then Hazard. Who needs Diego Costa when you have all these midfield weapons?
Now, then. Villa haven't scored in nearly 11 hours. Do they have a possibility of turning this around?
Boro have an early goal against Charlton.
Big appeal for handball on JT - referee not interested.
Agbon wastes a free headed chance from Fab Delph's ball in.
Lots of goals in the Championship, but not at Elland Road, of course.
I'd take a draw today against Brentford, who are in 5th. Both Charlton and Millwall are down already, so we would pick up some buffer space as well as a vital point toward survival.
I'm off to catch my shuttle, lads - see you tomorrow!
