Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good afternoon, Bob. I am joining you on a what is typical for this time of the year; a bloody hot afternoon.
Pictures at the Keepmoat Stadium as players are going through their p-re-match routine.
Afternoon, mate - I'm just logging in to the BEin coverage of the match.
The team news out of the Keepmoat today:
Doncaster team: Stuckmann, McCullough, Butler, Jones, Taylor-Sinclair, Evina, Wellens, Middleton, Forrester, Coppinger, Williams. Subs: Marosi, Lund, MacKenzie, Main, Tyson, P.McKay, Whitehouse.
United team: Turnbull, Berardi, Bellusci, Cooper, Taylor, Wootton, Cook, Mowatt, Doukara, Dallas, Antenucci. Subs: Silvestri, Bamba, Phillips, Murphy, Erwin, Byram, Wood.
Referee: K Hill
Hello Bob. This is the final match of the First Round. How does it fell BEIN on the Europa League schedule?
Interesting looking team. Champions League winner Ross Turnbull is getting his debut for the Whites in goal tonight. Two academy prospects Liam Cooper and Charlie Taylor are also in the side.
Feels pretty good, mate. I'm hoping that we avoid the pitfalls that some of the big sides have faced this week. No upset tonight, please.
Peter Drury on the mic tonight.
It sounds like a changed side for the Capital One Cup match. Will it be like the Europa League where the full strength side is out for the match on Sunday?
UWS was delighted that Pompey defeated a strong Derby County side yesterday.
Five changes from Saturday. Uwe realizes that he needs to rotate the squad since the Whites are on the EL schedule.
Donny won't be easy. They're only a division below and it's a derby match
They're off from the KeApmoat.
COME ON YOU WHITES!
And we're away at the Keepmoat.
Keith Hill officiated a first round match between Brentford and Daggenham last year as they split a dozen goals between them. I guess first round results are not an accurate indicator of form over the course of a season.
Did you hear about the bizarre incident between Donny and Bury on Saturday?
Uwe is more animated than his evil twin, Brian.
MOT!
I did hear about that on 606 - Paul Dickov was interviewed about it. Hilarious.
Early Leeds corner now.
You must feel that Uwe looks like a Leeds manager should.
Dallas sounds familiar . We were there last week and it was a cauldron!
Another Leeds corner.
And another. Both wasted.
A waste as Liam Cooper is called for a foul off the corner from Mowatt.
COME ON YOU YELLOWS!
Good closing down by our midfield - winning most of the second balls.
Donny's uniforms look more suited to Rugby Union than football.
Bellusci called for a foul. Donny have a free kick in a decent position.
Liam Cooper heads away the free kick from Forrester
Uwe looking concerned on the touchline.
Uwe sports a great cauffe. A sign of success?
Uwe will not have fond memories of Donny. When he was in charge of Brentford his team missed a penalty then Donny went up the other end of the pitch to score, winning promotion and denying his team promotion.
GOAL! Lewis Cook on the spot to slam home a rebound after Dallas pulled a save out of the Donny keeper!
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOAL !!!! LEWIS COOK GIVES LEEDS THE LEAD AFTER THE KEEPER PARRIED AWAY A SHOT FROM STUART DALLAS . HE EASILY PUT AWAY THE REBOUND.
That'll do nicely. The second goal of the season and we're off and running tonight.
0-1 Leeds!
Cook's first ever senior goal and Leeds fans are now singing MOT! That should ease the nerves.
Liking the cut of Turnbull's jib - he's got the presence to create confidence across that back line.
Sounds like we've got great away support today in Donny.
A nice one-two between Stuart Dallas and Mowatt prior to the shot from Dallas. Too hot for the keeper to handle.
Yes. Between MOT and Glory Glory Leeds United , it should be music to your ears.
It is, indeed.
UWe will have to determine whether Silvestri or Turnbull will be the first choice keeper.
Nice through ball from Mowatt . Just too long for Doukarra.
Looks as if Silvestri is the first choice and Turnbull is the back-up and Capital One Cup keeper.
Oh - hooked off the line by Bellusci after a catalog of errors by the defense and goalkeeper. Phew!
PHEW!!!! A horrible error in the Leeds defense nearly led to an equalizer , but Bellusci hooked a shot off the line that was chipped over Turnbull.
It was a horrible sliced clearance by Charlie Taylor and Bob must be relieved by that goal line clearance.
Very relieved, indeed. That was a close call.
Oh - Doukara slid a great cross over and Alex Mowatt just couldn't reach it.
Nearly 0-2 to Leeds as Doukarra played a nice pass into the box and Mowatt just failed to make the vital contact as he clattered into the keeper.
Bellusci did well again there to rescue his teammates, channeling Williams out wide as he ran through.
Williams wins a corner for Donny after Coppinger won a tackle and thankfully it was just catching practice for Big Ross
A few scary moments from Donny. I don't like it one bit.
Leeds will need to defend better on Sunday or else it will be a long trip down the Reading Railroad.
Unfortunately , the match at the Reading Railroad is not BEIN shown on Sunday. They suits have decided to televise an earlier kickoff; Wolves vs Hull City, two of my picks for promotion.
BUGGER!
Donny have a penalty! A stonewall penalty as it was a trip by Scott Wooton.
Bloody hell - now we've conceded a penalty! I blame it on Old Trafford as Scott Wootton upends a Donny player.
Williams steps up and scores. Wootton got there but the ball went under his body. Shame.
GOAL !!!! 1-1 AS ANDY WILLIAMS SHOT UNDER THE DIVE OF TURNBULL.
Now you know why he never played in the first team for Man Yoo.
So - half an hour in and it's back to the drawing board. 1-1.
Oh - now Turnbull does save from Williams but the big striker is becoming a pest.
Williams did well to collect a long ball then ran at the Leeds defense and forced a decent save from Turnbull.
I'm better off staying inside. It's 101, but the heat index is around 110 ,and not much of a breeze today.
Bloody Norah - now it's a red card for Lewis Cook. We're down to ten men!
OUCH!!!! A recipe for disaster as Lee Cook goes from hero to villain as he's sent off for an x rated tackle on Charlie Taylor.
Two footed and studs up - naughty. It wasn't malicious but he had to go.
Sorry Bob. I was thinking red before the ref even took out his card.Hopefully , the eighteen year old will learn from this.
If Leeds advance to the next round then Cook will not be available until the last match before the international break. Otherwise, he has a month long holiday.
Coppinger shoots wide after a long ball was headed away.
Coppinger is a villain as far as Uwe is concerned .
Wooton tries to make amends as he heads a free kick off the roof of the net.
Well, this has been a rollercoaster of a first half. Cook got everything rolling but then that penalty and his dismissal is going to make this a tougher tie than expected. Uwe may need to reach into his pool of players that he didn't want to use today in order to pull this one out.
Oh - Coppinger probably should have scored there. We really need that half-time whistle to go now in order to reorganize ourselves.
OH!!! Just wide by James Coppinger after a nice build up, as we begin two minutes of stoppage time.
I wonder if UWe will concede the Capital One Cup in order to have league success. That may be his mindset.
A late free kick for Leeds off a foul from Charlie Taylor.
The free kick from Mowatt is headed away as it's halftime. Leeds are a man down, but not a goal down as it's 1-1.
The second half is underway.
COME ON YOU YELLOWS!
No changes by either Uwe Rosler or Paul Dickov.
Back on at the Keepmoat in the second half. What can Uwe do to pull this one out?
Donny win a corner off of Dallas in Yorkshire.
Turnbull does well to catch a cross in heavy traffic.
I don't think Uwe can do much other than impress that stupid mistakes like those from Wooton and Cook be avoided.
Thankfully , Harry Forrester shoots harmlessly wide After dribbling through half the Leeds side.
High and wide by Coppinger as Donny have dominated the second half so far.
This is the beginning of a long string of tough matches, including Reading, Bristol City, a derby against Sheffield Wednesday and Derby.
Charlie Taylor has looked jittery tonight and he gives away another needless foul in dangerous area.
We're really under the cosh - a replay might be the best solution now. Half an hour to play.
Oh - another great save by Turnbull from Williams!!
Rosler must go for some changes.
We're giving the ball away far too cheaply, happy to hack it away.
Correct. Donny have been in control. This start will determine the strength of the Leeds side.
I'm not pleased about how we haven't been able to build on Leeds. In both matches so far we've withered after taking the lead. Lapses of concentration, maybe?
Peter Drury says that Antenucci has been "plenty lonely" in this second half. You can say that again!
Its now a downpour in South Yorkshire. Please send some of that our way. We haven't had any rain in 40 days.
About time for some changes -
Luke Murphy on for Doukara
Chris Wood on for Dallas
Rosler probably wanted to rest both tonight. Lots of matches to come.
Some changes from Use Luke Murphy is on for Doukarra and Chris Wood, a Kiwi, is on for Stuart Dallas.
That seems to have given us fresh impetus to kill this one off.
Oh - nice knock down by Wood but he was in an offside position.
I'm very hopeful about Wood, who scored bags of goals for Leicester in their promotion year before being shunted aside by Ulloa in the Premiership season.
Chris Wood is offside on Leeds first attack of the half.
I agree. I think the Kiwi is an excellent signing.
A Donny change now - Tyson on.
Inside twenty minutes to play now. The momentum seems to have shifted back toward us again.
Final change for us - Mowatt off for club skipper Sam Byram - another one Rosler would have liked to have saved.
The final roll of the dice for Uwe as Sam Byram is on for Zeke Mowatt.
Derisive cheers from the crowd as we actually get a free kick.
Leeds fans were convinced that Chris Wood was hauled back there - should have been a penalty for sure.
Well, at least from that incident you can tell that Donny defenders are now fairly rattled to have to deal with the big Kiwi.
I have to leave to take Jacquelyn to the orthodontist. I will be around to watch Man Yoo tomorrow. Cheers!
Cheerio, mate!
Antenucci picks another valuable free kick.
Nice stuff from us - if we pull this out in regulation, it would be a great morale booster.
Oh - that was close from Donny. Very close.
Oh - a whisker away by Williams. Whew!
Five minutes and change to come. We'll be lucky to survive this one. Donny are turning the screw again.
Oh - Turnbull saves really well from Tyson. He's been huge tonight.
Coppinger tries his luck again with his left peg - well wide.
Is it still tied?
Just about into stoppage time now.
Paul Dickov is all worked up about a clash of heads.
Three minutes to come.
It is, mate - almost into extra time. I'll be off home when the final whistle blows.
Dangerous free kick for Donny deep in our half.
I wonder if this one is going to penalties.
Oh - Sinclair fired it in and it was punched out.
We race down the pitch and earn a late corner. Wasted.
That's it - extra time to come. I'm off home.
I'm back as Donny have a corner in ET. Wooton heads away.
Turnbull pushes away a cross for another corner.
Six minutes remaining. Still 1-1.
Byram wins a corner off Butler. A waste as Wood is called for a push.
A minute of stoppage time.
Off to penalties.
Donny win 4-2 in the shootout. Sorry Bob.
