The Most Lucrative Matches of the Season!
Hiya, lads - I'm settling in after some morning chores to watch what is the most lucrative match of the season - the Championship Playoff final between Hull and Not a Big Club. Something in the order of £60 million is on the line, with promotion to the Premiership going to the victors.
That's followed by the season finale - the Champions League final. And it's an all-Madrid classico on hand. Should be an absorbing afternoon.
Join me for all the action at noon, won't you?

Alright, then. BEin to their credit are engaging us in a pre=match show. It's an odd panel, though, with some Rebecca Lowe look-a-like hosting Gary Bailey and some Latin guy.
Here's the team news out of Wemberly this afternoon:
Hull: Jakupovic; Odubajo, Dawson, Davies, Robertson; Huddlestone, Livermore; Elmohamady, Diame, Snodgrass; Hernandez.
Subs: Kuciak, Bruce, Maguire, Meyler, Maloney, Clucas, Akpom.
Wednesday: Westwood; Hunt, Lees, Loovens, Pudil; Wallace, Hutchinson, Lee, Bannan; Forestieri; Hooper.
Subs: Wildsmith, Matias, Nuhiu, Helan, Joao, Lopez, Sasso.
I don't have BEIN but I have a Sky Sports link going strong on the computer.
Got the test match on too
Big Club to be promoted
THEY ARE A BIG CLUB
Fourth wicket down for Sri Lanka
58-4
England 498 for 9 dec
Out comes the team!!
I know the Champs get a trophy
I heard that second place get one too
They get on here as well... they should just give the captain a schedule for next year or dossier of all the Prem teams
Both teams wearing their home kits
Both teams wearing stripes.... I like it
National anthem... and the singer sings at the start of the anthem... much better than last week
The Cup Final pre game was embarrassing last Saturday
The rapper, the anthem.. Cup Final delayed because of all of it
Boy am I happy that United won the Cup and lost LVG!!
Just glanced at the TV and Belgium are winning 2-1
No idea when the goal was scored
Just before the match... my link has buggered off
And Hull City get us away here at Wemberly - come on, you Tigers!
Got it back
Come on you OWLS
Afternoon, mate - great to have on board.
Are you guys going to watch the CL Final
I think I am forced to watch but I know it is going to be a nasty game with players diving and writhing on the ground
Afternoon mate
Hull's stands are not full
Wednesday's is.... BIG C:LUB
40,000 Owls in the stands
Great overhead kick by a Belgian and a great save by Swiss
How can you go against your boy Brucey today? Shame on you, mate!
Good morning chaps.
COME ON YOU TIGERS!
I know but I still think Wednesday have a great fan base and are a big club
Bob will root against Not a Big Club whether it be on a Saturday, Wednesday , or any day of the week
They have a big history and were a good side at the beginning of the Premier League era. Finished in the top four I think and made two cup finals
Waddle and Hurst were really good. United tried to buy Hurst and then bought Cantona instead
Belgium 1-2 up in Geneva vs the Swiss on a hot , sunny day. The Chunk with a goal and his brother assisted on a long range effort scored by De Bruyne. The Swiss scorer was sent off in a friendly/.
Don't understand why
Hull are a Yorkshire team too
Wicket... 67-5
Nasty foul by Dawson... deserved Yellow there
Afternoon, MUR - great to see another Tigers fan on board this afternoon.
He's going to have to be careful for 80 minutes if not more
Michael Dawson booked for a foul from behind from Forestieri on the break
HOOT HOOT
LET'S GO OWLS
Jakupovic beats over the free kick from Forestieri
Cheers mate. Call me Tony. GRRREAT
Went to see that Anthony Weiner movie last night
I enjoyed it
They are named after a neighborhood called Owlerton, not the nocturnal animal.
i did know that.
The Belgians win 1-2 in Geneva . Their first win on Swiss soil since the 1954 WC
Emblem is an owl so there!!!
Dean Windass looks like Brett Favre's twin bruv.
Had a Snow Day yesterday and Monday off... Four day weekends are lovely
Opened up the pool yesterday
I'm not looking forward to seeing either of these sides in the Prem next season.
Wednesday well on top!!
Also, great history lesson about Not a Big Club. All those facts are ancient history in footie terms
Sixth wicket down
England are going to enforce the follow on for the second test match running...they're going to win by an innings plus again
They are dangerous on the break.
Congratulations, UWS. it's well earned. Hot and humid here, feeling like July.
BIG club... don't have to like them but... a BIG club
Stadium was in the semi final rotation
Jakupovic beats away a free kick by Ross Wallace.
Nice one, mate - should I bring my trunks?
Speaking of FA Cup, did you see they scrapped the Quarter Final replays?
Come on, Snoddy - get a grip!
No - what's the point of that?
Absolutely... but NOT the Speedos
Snoddy vs Tom Lees will be an interesting midfield battle. I think they may know each other.
Again, great history lesson
That's horrible. Will all replays be scrapped in the future. There is no need for that
El Mohammedy walks like an Egyptian into an offside position.
Of course... 'fixture congestion'... wimps!!
Also, starting June 1... players will not have to kick the ball forward from kick off any more!
What's the bloody point!
I think it is normally July 1 but the are doing it early for the Euros
What?!!!!
Matt said that he read that if Wednesday win today they get more money than Hull if they win
Wonder why?
Bob's favorite player , Barry Bloody Bannan, running the show for Not a Big Club.
Just looked it up
The value of victory to Sheffield Wednesday in Saturday's Sky Bet Championship play-off final is £170m, according to experts at Deloitte's Sports Business Group.
Wembley opponents Hull can also expect a huge revenue uplift if they triumph, although the value to them is less, at £110m, as they will have to forgo parachute payments following relegation from the Premier League last year.
That doesn't make sense. A playoff Final win is a playoff Final win.
Thanks for the explanation. Odd, but now I understand.
The June 1st would affect continental clubs more then British clubs , who finish well before June 1st
I think it is for the Euros as well
Do not like this side at all.
Busy day for footer fans. The CL Final is on today as is Mexico vs Paraguay and the U.S. vs Bolivia.
Football is becoming less of a sport and more of a business year by year
If this one goes to extra time and penalties, it's going to cut into the Champions League final. Eek!
Not a Big Club has a Portugese manager and several Portugese players just to add to your dislike of this side.
The match is in danger of sinking into a stalemate, primarily because both sides lack the quality final touch when they get into a position to make a breakthrough.
It shouldn't . I think there would still be a half hour to spare.
Oh - off the line from Dawson!
OH!!! A Header from Dawson off a corner from Snoddy is cleared off the line then the rebound comes off the post.
Doesn't the final start at 2:45?
Kieran Lee chested off the line as he's currently the villain in Bob's new book.
Can't wait to see this lot back in L1 obscurity where they belong.
Forestiere with a typically crap shot.
Yes, but even if it goes to pens, the match should end by 230 at the latest
Boy... you two are Negative Nancys!!!
Agreed. The latest action reinforced what you just said. Both teams look most likely to score off a set piece. The winner of this match will be my favorites for relegation.
LOL! When it comes to Not a Big Club - definitely!
Commentator just said... look at the fans to the left
This club is ENORMOUS
I disagree about L1. Carlos Carvahal has done a lot to improve Not a Big Club and I would expect them to be one of the favorties for promotion.
Oh - Westwood saves superbly from the Uruguayan Hernandez!
OH!!!!Abel Hernandez has a close range effort blocked by Westwood after Not a Big Club failed to defend a long ball.
I can always dream, MUR.
Hull starting to be on top
Hull starting to put Not a Big Club on the rack now, as they deserve.
OH!!! Along range effort from Odabajio is just wide as the Tigers are starting to dominate after a slow start.
It says that there is a final between France and England tomorrow . Is that rugby?
U21s Toulon Tournament
Must be rugged.
Where does it say that?
On Bein?
Swansong rooting for Not a Big Club?
Yes. It does. Thanks for the clarification.
Great run by Diome... easily passed the defenders... outside of the post!
The match has sprung to life at the Not a Big Club end.
OH!!!! Off the side of the post by Mo Diame. How are the Tigers not in the lead as their opponents appear to be Lyin down?
Andy Robertson fouls fellow Scot, Ross Wallace near the Tigers corner flag
Hull's side... well empty!
The free kick from Ross Wallace is headed out
Portugal vs Norway is BEIN shown on the telly tomorrow. Sounds like a classic.
Hull City at least have Premiership pedigree.
Where are the 4-3s or 5-4s in these matches!
The Tigers are a bigger club based on recent performances.
Oh - Westwood bails out Not a Big Club once again. They're really under the cosh.
A great close range save by Westwood from Odabajio off a nice pass from El Mohammedy. They beat the offside trap
Not a Big Club just look like they want to get back into the dressing room now at level pegging.
An old fashioned Scottish tussle between Snoddy and Ross Wallace. No love lost between the two international teammates.
Westwood should be in the Republic of Ireland squad for the Euros.
A minute of stoppage time.
So, who will Woy drop?
Delphi out
Who are the other two?
Rashford in
Barkley out?
Drinkwater out?
Henderson?
Wilshire?
Townsend?
Lalana?
Sturridge?
Robertson clears for an Owls corner.
Last chance Wednesday from a header... easy save
Half time... off to vacuum pool
A header straight at the keeper and that's that for an absorbing first half at Wemberly. Even steven between these two huff and puff merchants.
It's 0-0 at the half that the Tigers dominated in the late stages after a dormant start. All to play for in the second half.
The second half is underway
BEin nearly missed the kickoff with they adverts. The Prawn Cocktail crowd have missed the second half kickoff. They're still off quaffing some mimosas.
According to Gary Bailey, The Tigers dominated the first half and have better players
Kieran Westwood is one of five keepers in the R of Ireland provisional squad. I would think he's all but booked a trip to France salong with Darren Randolph and probably David Forde being picked just ahead of Old Man Given
No substitutions by either side. This game is going to be settled by the keepers, isn’t it? And that’s ominous for Hull ...
Well, I have to agree. This is essentially a Premiership side that have yo-yoed up and down, full of people like Jake Livermore, Fatty Huddleston and El Hamedy who have Prem experience.
Forestieri was in there but he took an age. Poor.
Great slide tackle by Curtis Davies on Forestieri off a long punt from Westwood. It results in a corner that is cleared away
Tom Lees clears for a Tigers corner.
The corner from Snoddy is headed away
I am back from pool work
I think this match will be settled by a set piece or a horrific mistake.
Welcome back. You didn't miss much
A bit more scrappy this half.
I'm getting my Speedo really, UWS.
PLEASE NO!!!
I would like to see a post on FB.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh - Westwood saves again, this time from Dawson. He's the MOTM for Not a Good Club.
Alert the neighbors, mate.
What a miss!!!!!
That was a sitter
Great cross
Pool's closed...sorry
OH!!!! How did Andy Robertson miss a wide open goal. A counter that started with a throw from Jakupovic led from a pass from El Mohammedy to Robertson , where he blasted over with a wide open goal gaping
Nearing the hour mark - should bring some changes.
Who do you hate more... not fence sitting... United or Wednesday?
I know my pick
Just over by former Chelsea Academy player, Sam Hutchinson.
Forestieri has a long range effort blocked for a corner on the counter. Jakupovic punches away a header from the corner.
Cricket update
SL 88 for 6
Eng 498 for 9 dec
I would saw Wednesday on any day of the week
Helan is on for Ross Wallace, who huffed and puffed, but looked every bit a Championship player.
I agree - not need to see Ross Wallace anywhere near the Premiership. Not a Big Club seem to be full of players who never quite made the grade at bigger clubs. Who needs them?
I am shunning both of you for anti Wednesday talk on Saturday
88 for 7
You also described the Tigers in all honesty. Melanie and her friends are playing a game of twister that's far more exciting than this shower.
Lost my link
What's this Wednesday bias. Are you a Hump Day fan?
You may be better off losing the link. This match has gone downhill.
I'm watching twister while Sparky is napping.
UWS secretly wants to live in Sheffield.
90 for 8
Agreed, MUR.
Kicked into touch. That is Not a Big Play unless it occurs in a rugby match
GOAL
GREAT GOAL!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! DIAME GIVES THE TIGERS THE LEAD
GOAL! Mo Diame with a rocket of a shot to open the scoring for Hull. They deserved it!
1-0 Tigers!
A sustained spell of possession for the Tigers . Then a long ball from Curtis Davies was not properly cleared by Tom Lees. Snoddy cut inside and passed fro Diame to score with a great finish in the upper 90 from thirty yards out
A pair of former Leeds players involved in the goal. One with a defensive error and one with a great assist
Not a Big Club making another change. Hutchinson to come off and Nuhiu to come on.
I sure hope this match does not go into ET because I don't think I can stand an extra half hour of this nonsense.
SHUN
Agreed, MUR - blow up, ref!
Shun to you too
Huhiu, the big Austrian-Albanian -Kosovan is on for former Chelsea Academy player , Sam Hutchinson, who looked all but someone from the SB Academy.
COME ON WEDNESDAY
COME ON WEDNESDAY
As things stand, Yellows goes top of the pops and will stay there unless Athletico win the next match
Stumps on Day 2
91 for 8
England lead by 407 runs
I hope like the OWLS, they sleep during the day.
breaking news Tom just told me
CL may be off because of terrorist attack!
I am just passing the word. I am now going to check it out!
I wonder if Bob will offer his condolences to the Not a Big Club fans and players.
Don't see it on line
Where is Tom getting this from???
What?!!!!
Not sure where he heard it.. maybe a false alarm
WOW!!!! That is really sad. What is our world coming to? Thanks for the update.
I don't see anything on-line about it.
Don't see it anywhere... so it must be wrong
Clucas on for Snoddy, who is none too pleased about it. I think it's a defensive switch
Clucas has come on for Snoddy.
OH!!! Abel Hernandez has a shot blocked for a corner by Loovens as the Owls are caught out on the break.
Cut back failed to find a man... come you OWLS!!
Real Madrid are at full strength, unchanged from the side who beat Deportivo La Coruna 2-0 on the final day of La Liga.
Real Madrid: Navas, Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Kroos, Casemiro, Modric, Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema. Subs: Casilla, Nacho, Rodriguez, Vazquez, Jese, Isco, Danilo.
Atletico haven't announced their team yet.
Abel Hernandez about to come off, replaced by Meyler.
David Meyler is on for Abel Hernandez. Another defensive switch by Brucey
Cor! What a side!
Pre-game is on regular Fox from 2
I can't find anything about the CL Final being postponed.
Hope they don't resort to the Spanish bull fight
Me neither
Portugeezer Joao coming on for the last five minutes.
Joao, the Portugeser , is on for Pudil , the Austrian.
