The Hammers have had a tough time at their new home of London Stadium but they've been better on the road. Later today, we've got Southampton v. Chelsea. Join me for a late morning treat, eh?

Good morning, Bob. I'm here to join you.,
Morning, MUR - how was that extra hour of kip for you?
Nice tribute for Howard Kendall, who passed away a year ago, at the 4th minute - his shirt number.
A moment's applause as Coleman cuts out a cross for a corner before Antonio could shoot
Great . How are you, Bob?
I thought It was for Howard Kendall, but missed the beginning of the applause when I was getting my morning cuppa.
It's 1-1 in the Second City Derby. Gary Gardener gave Villa the lead then David David tied it up for the Blue Noses and was booked for excessive celebration.
Doing well, mate - that extra hour did me a treat. I needed to catch up on my sleep.
The best move of the match as the Hammers put together a great move and Obbiang shot well over past the on rushing Robles after a multi pass move.
The Hammers put together another move and Robles turns around a shot from Payet . He takes the corner and Antonio is called for a push.
An interesting fixture as Slaven played for both clubs .
Oh - Obiang should have scored there. Instead he blasted over and then tried to claim a penalty.
Agreed. The extra hour really helped. I could have used another hour, but this helped. Just three weeks till Thanksgiving break.
The Hammers win another corner The Tofffees break through the Chunk down the left. His pass made it out to Gareth Barry, who passed to Bolassie , who had a shot blocked and Barry had an effort go inches over. It all started with a Hammers corner gone wrong when Payet toook an out swinger and Fernandes had a shot blocked that started the break.
The Hammers are really pressing their claim in this match.
The Toffees are starting to dominate as Idresse Gueye had a pass deflect to the Chunk, who failed to control and it was gathered by Adrian. The Hammers went straight up the pitch and Lanzini played a great pass across the box,but there was no takers
The Chunk has a shot come off the Coyote for a corner.
The corner from Mirallis is easily gathered by Adrian
Oh - Lanzini ghosted into the box but then blasted across the box.
What a save from Adrian from Barkley as Everton have ratcheted up the pressure.
OH ! what a close range reflex save by Adrian from Barkley off a pass from Bryan Oviedo , who tackled Fernandes.
Kate is grossed out by Barkley's spitting.
I don't blame her. Didn't he have a loan spell at ER? Just asking.
Oh - Gana is in trouble now as Obiang is in on goal. Yellow card from Referee Taylor in the end. Could have been red.
Idresse Gueye has his pocket picked by Obbiang, who then gets fouled in return . Gueye is booed.
Agreed. He's a lucky boy. He was never Gana get away with that
So, another chance for Payet to swing a free kick in.
Into the wall.
Into the wall by Payet. The Hammers still attack until the Coyote runs it out of play
Adrian tips over a diagonal effort from Mirallis
Mirallis has a shot clip off of Gareth Barry, but Adrian , as usual, was alert to it
The Toffees win a corner despite Adrian's best efforts to keep the ball in play. Funes- Mori heads well wide from the corner taken by Mirallis.
It finished 1-1 in the Second City Derby from St. Andrews. New Villa manager, Brucey must have received a hostile reception from his years in charge of the blue half of Birmingham.
Adrian appears to be in cracking form.
Reminds of Tom Heaton from Yesterday, who plays for another claret and blue team.
It's all got a bit ping-pongy out there.
That was an extraordinary performance, sadly for United.
Agreed. Prior to the last few minutes, this had been an entertaining match.
Agreed. Now I see why Tom Heaton has been in recent England squads.
A minute of stoppage time.,
Payet goes on a great run , but had a shot block and the Toffees counter, but it's halted.
It's 0-0 at the half. Adrian has made several great saves.
Peep peep - half time arrives and we're goalless at Goodison.
The second half is underway from Goodison Park
Teams back out at Goodison - no changes to either side.
Antonio wins a corner.
Early corner for the Hammers - comes to nothing, as most near post efforts do.
The corner from Payet is off of Obbiang from a difficult angle and out for a goal kick.
Oviedo wins a corner off of Fernandes at the Gladys Street End where Adrian easily catches the corner.
GOAL !!!! SCRAPPY, BUT THE TOFFEES TAKE THE LEAD. THE CHUNK GOT THE FINAL TOUCH
GOAL! The Chunk nods home from about two yards - the easiest goal he'll ever score.
Coleman shot at goal and it was tipped away by Adrian. Bolassie beat his man to the rebound, crossing to Lukaku who couldn't miss.
1-0 Toffees!
It started with a poor Hammers clearance to Barkley, who passed to Coleman . He cut easily inside Lanzini then his shot was parried away by Adrian .Bolassie shot the rebound that last went off the Chunk , who will get credit for the goal.
Unlike United, the Toffees battled and scrapped for the rebounds.
Obbiang is booked for obstructing Barkley.
Great combo play by the Toffees then just high and wide by Barkley
Oh - Barkley's shot is deflected over. How is this guy not in the England set up?
Nice move from the Hammers ends up with Antonio picks up a tasty free kick chance.
Antonio weaves and juggles his way past several players then is fouled by Bryan Oviedo in the D
Payet tries a Ginger Winger special under the wall but the wall did its job.
A wretched free kick from Payet is easily blocked.
The Coyote wins a corner off of Oviedo
Joel Robles is fouled as he attempted to punch away the corner from Payet
Andy Ayew, who moved from one claret and blue team to another, is on for Obbiang.
And Ayew is fouled because he was never Gana be permitted to get past his man,.
Gareth Barry heads out the free kick from Payet for a Hammers corner,.
A complete waste as the corner from Payet curled out and back in , which results in a goal kick. Absolutely useless.
What a great save by Robles from Antonio, who completely picked Ashley Williams's pocket.
Winnie Reid is booked for intentional hand ball. What was he thinking?
The free kick from Barkley is easily gathered by Adrian.
Great block by Robles from Ayew off a pass from Antonio. The short comes to nothing and the Toffees counter.
Joel Robles superbly turns around a long range effort from Mark Noble.
Simone Zaza is on for Fernandes. An extra striker for he Hammers
The corner from Payet is headed out as is the return cross from Cresswell.
Clever Boy is on for Mirallis.
Oviedo trips Antonio near the corner flag to halt a solo run and is booked for that
The free kick from Payet makes it to Lanzini, who has a shot blocked.
GOAL !!! BARKLEY SCORES WITH A FAR POST VOLLEY TO GIVE THE TOFFEES A TWO GOAL LEAD. GREAT CROSS FROM THE CHUNK.
It all started when Lanzini coughed up possession in midfield . Barkley picked up the loose ball and played a long ball down the right to the Chunk. He beat Obbiang and his cross was volleyed in at the far post by Barkley past Adrian.
The final roll of the dice from Slaven as Feghouli is on for Lanzini.
Barkley has a shot deflected for a corner.
Oviedo is called for afoul off the corner from Barkley
Jags is on for Bolassie so the Toffees can shut up shop and preserve the two goal lead.
Oviedo heads out for a Hammers corner.
The Chunk leads a break off the corner from Feghouli , but it is halted by the Hammers
The final roll of the dice from Ronnie as a former LUFC Academy player is on for a former LUFC loanee. The Wee Beetle for Barkley
Great reflex save by Adrian from the Chunk . Great pass from Clever Boy
Antonio is booked for late challenge on Gareth Barry.
Four minutes of stoppage time.
Adrian with a near post from Clever Boy off a pass from the Chunk
Ogbanna appeared to foul Guye in the box, but Lee Mason waved play on.
Lee Mason blows the final whistle as the Toffees defeat the Hammers 2-0
Sorry to abandon you during the last half-hour, mate. The Gooner called through for a chat.
But I'm back for the Southampton v. Chelsea match if you're still around.

Referee Mike Jones
Welcome back, mate. I'm always around for a natter, mate. How is everything at Gooner Central?
Thanks, mate - we're off from St. Mary's. Everything is good at Gooner Central. I told him to come on and have a chat with us now and again.
I missed the first couple of minutes, failing to realize that the match is on the local NBC affiliate.
Absolutely. He's welcome at all times.
Good to see both sides playing in their traditional strips.
Tadic dazzles a bit but it comes to nothing.
GOAL !!!HAZARD GIVES CHELSEA THE LEAD
GOAL! The in-form Eden Hazard finishes from a tight angle to fire Chelski into the lead.
0-1!
Hazard played a one two with Victor Moses then cut inside Steven David and nut megged Forster at his near post.
Decent scoring rate this weekend - I've enjoyed it, especially that Liverpool match yesterday.
Redmond goes on a solo run, but is tackled by Matic as Chelsea has trouble with the Saints high press.
Tadic has a go but gets the technique all wrong.
Agreed. That was a match for the ages, especially the first half. It has been a great weekend other than the match at OT
The replay of that incident makes it looks worse for Davis with an elbow on Moses. Might be a disciplinary action retroactive.
Yeah - a lot of chatter about Jose having lost the plot this morning.
Hello All . Unbelievable, as soon as I get through to LOB Chelski score .
Hope you are all well . Will be reading the posts more than commenting because its difficult on my phone . What ? No David ?
Azpi fouls Ryan Bertrand, the former Chelsea trainee.
Hello Tony. Great to hear from you. I hope all is well. You must be delighted that Chelsea has taken the lead.,
Good to see that the Saints are pressing their claim. There are more goals in this one, for sure.
Correct, Bob. That's why I was against Jose being appointed manager in the first place. That's the last thing we need with a new manager in charge.
A high boot by Azpi on Ryan Bertrand, Charlie Austin heads wide from the free kick.
Morning, Tony - haven't heard from your brother yet this morning, but good to hear from you. Chelski are looking like true title contenders again, don't you think?
Azpi clears for a corner after uncertainty in the Chelsea defense.
A Saints corner is taken short, but all they get is a throw.
I've just checked the top goalscorer's chart. Diego Costa is now level with Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku on 7 goals, so I'm hoping that Soton can shut down the thuggish Spaniard.
Chelski are looking much more solid defensively this season, don't you think Chelskilad?
I agree. Costa has been quiet so far. It will be an interesting goal scoring race.
Did you hear about the news that Wayne Rooney is considering a move to the LA Galaxy at the end of the season?
I didn't , but it makes sense and is about bloody time. That will allow United to move forward as a club. He's been holding us back.
Hazard looks menacing every time he gets the ball. After missing almost all of last season through apathy, he is fit and firing again.
Agreed - I don't think he's well suited for the MLS but at least he'd be off your books.
Late by Marcus Alonso on Tadic. A decent position for a Saints free kick.
Soton have a free kick chance now....
Tadic fires low to the near post and Courtois turns it around for a corner.
Court pushes away the free kick from Tadic
The corner is headed out for another
Costa heads away the next corner from Tadic
Agreed. about Roon. Good riddance and probably a great end of career payday. That's the only reason he's moving to Hollywood.
Hazard is back to his best. The disruptions last season really affected him.
Chelski seem satisfied to hit the Saints on the break, as there through Moses. Corner.
Chelsea counter through Hazard off a long clearance. he finds Victor Moses with a long diagonal pass, but He gets it all wrong.,
Van Dyke heads out for a corner in front of Forster, who was about to gather the cross. The corner is headed away
Shouldn't Charlie Austin be better than he is?
Hazard again...jinks inside and rifles but Forster saves well.
Forster comfortably saves a long range effort from Hazard
I think Charlie Austin is playing to his full potential. he's rather limited in what he can do.
Well saved, Forster, preventing Costa from scoring his 8th goal of the season.
Matic wins a tackle in midfield and puts through Costa, who tries to nut meg Forster, but shoots right at his boot.
Nice slide tackle by Charlie Austin on the Side Show that forces a corner. Court punches away the corner from Steven Davis
Redmond is tackled by Marcus Alonso for a corner off a pass from Classie.
A complete waste as the Saints commit a foul off their corner.
I'm off to Wendy's to pick up lunch. Will be back for more in the second half.
Azpi fouls Ryan Bertrand., A minute of stoppage time.
Cheers mate. Have a great trip and great lunch
The free kick is headed on and Charlie Austin heads high and wide.
Chelsea is one up at the half thanks to an early goal by Hazard
The second half is underway
Back on at SM and back with the lunch.
Pedro wins a corner,.
Welcome back. How was lunch. I haven't gone to Wendy's in ages.
Fonte does well to cut out a pass from Marcus Alonso for an Azurri corner.
Excellent sliding tackle there by Fonte. They're keeping Costa at bay.
Matic heads wide from the corner.
Southampton have some decent attacking options on the bench, including Boufal, McQueen and Hojbjerg. I suspect they’re going to need them.
Correct . He had the fewest touches of any Azurri player in the first half.
Agreed. This game is far from over. The team that has scored first in this fixture has failed to win five out of the last six times.
Romeu fouls Costa in an all Spanish tussle.
GOAL! Of course, it's Diego Costa with one out of the top drawer. His 8th of the season.
0-2!
GOAL !!!! WHAT A GREAT LONG RANGE CURLER FROM COSTA. SORRY MATE.
That was reminiscent of the kind of goals that Hazard likes to score, a nice curler into the upper 90.
It was simple . A short free kick was played out left to Hazard. he passed short to Costa and he curled one in the corner from 25 yards out to put the Azurri two up.
It will be tough to see the Saints getting anything out of this match
Costa blasts over from close range as he was tightly marked by Jose Fonte . Great solo run and pass from Victor Moses.
Oh - Pedro nearly nipped in for a third. Soton are in danger of being turned over here.
Victor Moses concedes a free kick. The Azurri clear at the third attempt./
agreed. I guess they're more than just the thin blue line.
Boufal on for Classie.
Southampton make their first change, with Clasie replaces by Sofiane Boufal.
Somehow, the Azurri failed to got three up and now the Saints are on the attack.
Pedro set Hazard free with a clever back heel . He passed to Moses, whose shot was fumbled by Forster and several Azurri players could not get a shot off.
The dynamic hasn't really changed with the introduction to Boufal. They'll need something else.
I agree. I don't see anything changing to be honest other than perhaps the lead extending.
This game is done. Chelsea are in full catenaccio mode and Southampton have no answer.
A rare second half chance for the Saints and Charlie Austin heads over.
Oh - Hazard with a nice shot that Forster parried away.
An appropriate match for tomorrow: Halloween.Stoke vs Swansea a Halloween horror show. Bob Bradley will be in charge of the Swans unless that's you dressed as him for Halloween.
Chelsea have been brilliant in the second half. Before half-time they were excellent defensively but offered almost nothing going forward. Since the break they could have scored four or five.
Agreed. I guess we have to consider them as title challengers.
A header from Steven Davis comes off of Side show and clips the top of the bar for a corner off a great cross from Martina.
I think so - the sides that seem to be clicking right now are the top four - City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Several changes about to be made. First for the Azurri, Willian is on for Pedro. The final rolls of the roulette wheel for Claude Puel as Sam McQueen is on for Ryan Bertrand and Hoijberg is on for Tadic.
Substitutions galore. Chelsea introduce Willian for Pedro; Southampton bring on Sam McQueen and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for Dusan Tadic and Ryan Bertrand.
I have a feeling that those will be the four sides in the CL next season.
Likely to be - shame that United struggling under Mourinho.
Hazard is called for a foul on Romeu
What about the Halloween question. Will BB be in charge of the Swans or will that be your Halloween costume tomorrow?
Fraser Forster pushes aeay a rocket of a shot from Victor Moses.
Charlie Austin rattles one into the net but he's ruled offside.
Charlie Austin turns the Side Show and scores , but it's disallowed for offside. He was merely inches offside.
Shame - that might have made the final five minutes or so more interesting. Instead, Chelski are looking to lock things up.
Ivanovic is on for Victor Moses on the final roll of the dice for Conte as the Azurri shut up shop, two up on the road late on.
Great ovation for Costa as he goes off.
Three minutes of stoppage time.
Were you one of those giving Costa an ovation?
Deep into stoppage time, now.
Kante wins a free kick near the corner flag
