We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

RIP John Noakes (1934-2017)

For those of us of a certain age, John Noakes was a huge figure in our lives. He (and his trusty dog Shep) were our companions after school on Blue Peter. He taught us all about conservation and science and arts and crafts. John died yesterday at the age of 83, which makes me feel just a wee bit older. RIP.

Thankfully, we've still got Leslie Judd, Peter Purves, and Valerie Singleton, but this is sad. RIP.
