Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good afternoon, Bob. Here to join you for the early season promotion six pointer. Hoping for a Leeds win heading into the international break.
COME ON YOU WHITES!
MOT!
Hi Bob and David
I am here too. I have put it on my Apple TV... hope it works
It says it hasn't started yet
Good afternoon, Dave,I checked on my wife's Imac and it's supposed to start in about two to three minutes.
my screen now just has some hanging posters for movies!
Just went to menu and back and it is on!
Elland Road looks great filled up
Hiya, boys - I'm back for the match now. Come on, you Whites!
We are off
Silly foul there
Not going anywhere but Phillips gives Boro a free kick
BPF punches away a Teesiders free kick
My screen had frozen, but is now in perfect working order.
Leeds survive free kick and following corner
Elland Road sounds amazing!
Bielsa will discover what it is to play against a physical anti footballing side as is typical for any Pulis side.
Perfect atmosphere for this top of the table match
Just read old Leeds and Liverpool Aussie, Harry Kewell has taken the reigns at rock bottom Notts County
Jon Champion the announcer in this match between teams battling to be champions of the Championship.
The long balls aren't really connecting quite yet. We'll need to try something different.
Nice move by Leeds down the right...the lay back just missed the man
I think he replaced Kevin Nolan, who took them to the playoffs last season , but really struggled to start off this season. Kewell had been in charge of Crawley
Bielsa on his bucket - luv it!
The Bielsa Bucket looking good
Nice attacking move that started with a tackle won in the Teesiders half, but a less than Pre Saiz finish with a long range effort that landed in Row Q
Wonder if he has a mini fridge with some cold ones stored in that bucket.
Leeds need to improve their crossing
Long range effort from Berardi not too far wide, but Darren Randolph appeared to have it covered.
Decent pop there for Berardi.
Should be a card there for a nasty chop on Harrison.
Free kick is collected by Randolph. Shame.
The decision was not a Friend for Leeds as that should have been a booking for George Friend. A nasty challenge. Free kick caught by Darren Randolph.
Wales are hosting England in a Women's World Cup Qualifier
0-0 so far...same time as the match at ER
Who really wants to see Tony Pulis back in the Premiership?
England should be the overwhelming favorites.
A return to ER for Adam Clayton, the pantomime villain this evening.
Definitely not. This is Pulis's level.
Great sweeper keeping from BPF
Peacock-Farrell does some cleaning after a silly error.
Great sweeping up from BPF
Long throw nonsense - definitely Pulis' method.
Great cross...get some at the back post!
George Friend does well to clear a threatening cross from Barry Douglas.
Decent cross over from Douglas but no one home.
Now Ali wins us a corner. Let's finish this one!
Alioski wins a Leeds corner.
Assombalonga heads away the corner then a long clearance from Ten Downing Street.
My picture is great on my Apple TV
Leeds fans using savory language to describe what they think of Pulis Football. Bob was more diplomatic.
Watching on plus. A great picture from Plus too.
Nice save
Oh - our old boy Jonny Howson nearly stuck the dagger in there. Good save by P-F!
And another preventing an own goal by Ayling! Come on!
BPF does well to save a long range effort from Jonny Howson, another player returning to ER then Prevents an OG by Luke Ayling
Born could have scored from that corner
Phew
And now a free header that Assombolonga fortunately puts over the bar!
Asoombalonga heads over off the corner by a Longa way
Should a pen there!!
Clayton tackles Klich for a Leeds corner.
Klich wins another corner off another old boy - Adam Clayton.
The corner is headed away then the return cross is just too long for Roofe.
Oh - Kemar nearly onto that chip in from Berardi.
Agreed. Mini Cooper got away with one on Flint.
Great last ditch tackle on an Ayling Pulis type attack
Clumsy by Jonny Howson on Roofe in midfield.
Now then - another free kick. Taken short. Comes to nothing, sadly.
Ayling's cross is hoofed off for another corner. Let's do this!
Leeds have not failed to score at least two in each game... will they do it tonight
An Ayling cross , but a Teesider decided to be A Friend by clearing for a Leeds corner. Off the line by Adam Clayton off the corner.
Oh - off the line!
ooh...cleared off the line
Great corner.... beat the first man!
Adam Clayton not doing his former club any favors with that clearance from anything but an Ayling header.
Douglas does have a sweet delivery with his left peg from free kicks and corners.
Definitely not a Pre Saiz challenge, but instead a booking for a foul from behind
Bugger. Saiz trips up his man and gets a yellow. Dangerous free kick area here.
Oh - Shotten has a header that flashes across the area and fortunately wide of the mark.
Shotton heads wide from a long free kick. So long it came from Ten Downing Street. That's quite a distance.
Oh - lovely run there but the overlapping man was off.
Ayala clears for a Leeds corner , but the offside flag is raised.
Awful square ball by the Leeds defense....they survive
Ryan Shotton fouled off a long ball from Ayala. The foul was from Alioski.
Ali is penalized for a foul. Could get a card.
Great catch by P-F.
BPF does well to gather the free kick in a crowd of players
I think the England squad was what I expected. They deserve to be chosen after their World Cup performance
I am pleased Shaw did get another chance
It is strange the Loftus Cheeks can't play for Chelsea but Barkley does
Lalana can't get a game for Liverpool and Milner is a mainstay
The formers made the squad and the latters didn't
Oh - Kemar made a big shout for a pen there.
Not sure why Roofe wants a penalty. Dion't see anything wrong other than him failing to connect with a cross.
Leeds want a pen..not given
Sort of like the Walker challenge vs Tunisia that was a pen
Harrison tries a pop but Randolph handles it easily.
Strange how some of these players are in the England squad if they rarely play for their clubs. It never used to be that way, but then there are not nearly as many English players ion the Prem.
Not sure how Joe Hart starts for Burnley ahead of Nick Pope and Tom Heaton when one made the England squad on the other was on standby, but Hart didn't make either.
One stoppage minute to come in this half.
Jon Champions says that there should be a minute of stoppage time.. which there is
Put a cushion on the bucket!!
Friday night games have been very short on goals so far in the Championship this season...this one is no different
Bielsa's a hard man; he don't need no stinking bucket!
HT
Still scoreless
Half-time - Well, that was a tense first half for sure. Both these sides will surely be around at the business end of the season.
It's 0-0 at the end of a cagey half. Not a surprise considering the visitor's and what's at stake.
Sunday
Noon in England
Old FIRM Derby AND the Old FARM Derby
WOW! An interesting coincidence. Great reasons for both to be noon kickoffs. Stevie G vs Brendan.
The page has loaded as the second half is about to kickoff. Now it does.
We're back on for the second half at Elland Road. Let's go, boys - come on!
An early cross by Clayton finds Shotton who muscles Cooper out of the way for a header down to the P-F.
The Teesiders nearly take the lead as Ryan Shotton has a free header in the six yard box, but it';s straight to BPF
Come Koppites...suck the ball in
Then a long range Leeds effort is a few feet over the Roofe of the net.
Bamford warming up. He had a loan spell with the Teesiders
Patrick Bamford warming up. I'm sure he'd like nothing more than doing the biz against his old employers.
Mini Cooper drives the ball out of touch.
A late winner from Bamford would be great
Ali tries a shot that's deflected out for a corner.
Alioski with a long range effort deflected for a corner.
Bielsa letting Pulis know he's not happy with Ryan Shotton's antics. Well done.
Woodie is Pulis's assistant with the Teesiders. Bob would consider that an ultimate betrayal.
Barry Douglas booked for a CHALLENGE ON aDAM cLAYTON.
Should have been a pen for that block on Kal.
Kal Phillips was rugby tackled by Ayala on that last set piece.
Besic finally gets a yellow for a catalog of fouls.
Sarcastic cheers as Besic is booked for the Teesiders.
Mini Cooper called for a shove on Assambalonga near the Leeds corner flag.
Cooper gives up a silly foul there when Assombolonga was going nowhere.
Berardi and Ayala called over from pushing and shoving.
Ayala gets his head to it but it's well wide.
The free kick is headed well wide by Ayala, who scored a late winner last Frioday
These set pieces are giving me hives.
Oh - Harrison wasn't that far away with that curler.
Not too far wide by Jack Harrison after some frantic Teesiders defending .
Getting close to the hour mark and Bielsa looks set to ring the changes.
Agreed. That's always a strength of Pulis sides. That's their bread and butter with a bit of jam.
Oh - Kemar nearly on to that through ball.
Been doing a few errands around the house on my last day of summer hols
Kal Phillips decided to Fry a Teesider and is called for a foul as a result.
I know the League Cup doesn't matter but this is 150+ minutes of football at Elland Road without a Leeds goal
GET YOUR FINGERS OUT
Hope you get a lot accomplished. Wishing you well this school year
Lovely - Adam Clayton picks up a yellow for a push on Saiz.
Cheers, UWS. We need goals!
Desomnd on bookings as Bob and Leeds fans are pleased to see Adam Clayton booked on his return to ER.
OK... I have to say it...
IT'S LEEDS TIME!!
A nice move earns a corner there. Let's make it count!
Get the cross over!!!!
That Leeds one touch passing is starting to Klich as Leeds win a corner
There you go, mate! We need it!
Agreed, UWS. It is Leeds time.
MOT! COME ON YOU WHITES!
Come on, Ali - stay on side!
Leeds counter as Besic loses his balance . Nothing comes of it.
Cheers, MUR!
That was close. He looked level.
Come on, Marcelo! Time for some changes.
Surprised neither manager has made a change yet
Attack, attack, attack!
Leeds aren't getting the ball in the box enough... trying to be too cute sometimes
COME ON LEEDS
Downing cuts inside and hoofs one well over the bar. Lovely.
A long range effort from Ten Downing Street makes it halfway back there.
Now Berardi picks up a yellow for a sliding tackle from behind.
Berardi booked for a foul from behind on Assambalonga.
George Friend being a friend to Leeds by letting the ball run of play for a goal kick to Leeds.
Ryan Shotton went down rather easily off the challenge from Kal Phillips.
Too many fouls now. We need to settle it down.
Another great take by P-F; that's becoming his forte.
A corner for the Teesiders BPF does well to gather just under the crossbar.
I agree...Leeds are losing their rag
Ayling tried a curler from that throw. Got it all wrong.
That sure was an Ayling cross as it found absolutely nobody
Sad to see Woody on the Boro bench.
Another bad foul by Cooper. Why does he do that?
A free kick called against Leeds as Assombalonga was barely touched , but acted as if driven down by Mini Cooper, who somehow gets booked for that
Oh - Ayala again got his head to it but put it wide.
Ayala heads the free kick from Besic well wide.
Now it's Ayala into the book and we've got a promising free kick opportunity. Make it count!
That challenge did not Klich and Ayala is deservedly booked for nasty foul.
Cooper called for a foul on the free kick - shame.
It comes to naught as Mini Cooper climbs on Ryan Shotton, which must drive Bob nuts.
Ten minutes left - still no changes from either manager.
Still nary a sub to be made as we are less than ten minutes away from stoppage time.
Our new signing Izzy Brown, on loan from Chelski.
Martin Braithwaite the Danish World Cup player , warming up for the Teesiders. Wants a move to Spain away from Pulis ball. Can't say as I blame him.
The long throw nonsense leads to a corner. Squeaky bum time.
Berardi heads out a Teesiders long throw for a corner.
Berardi is down needing treatment after that corner.
The corner from Ten Downing Street is decent delivery, unlike that from Theresa May, but cleared.,
The umpteenth long throw from the Teesiders is cleared.
Ayling concedes a corner now as Bamford is being prepared to come on for Kemar.
An Ayling cross is a friend to the Teesiders as they win a corner.
Berardi down again - perhaps he'll have to come off, too. Pontus sets to replace him.
Berardi down again and the first substitution of the match is in the 87th minute as Berardi is replaced by Jansson.
Can Leeds get a winner!!
COME ON!!
Oh - Ayala was nearly in there at the back post. P-F with a good save.
OH!!! The close range header from Ayala off the corner blocked for another.
Struth...that was close at the back post!
I was hoping for more from this game
Now Pontus is down in the box. The casualty rate is growing.
The corner from Ten Downing Street is headed away and a foul is called as the danger ends.
Bamford on for Kemar now - it's glory time, Patrick!
Five minutes of stoppage time to come - plenty of time for a late goal.
Five minutes of stoppage time as Bamford is on for Roofe against the team where he had two loan spells.
Pulis yet to make a usbstitution
And Stu Dallas to come on for a late cameo - Harrison coming off.
The final roll of the dice from Bielsa as Dallas is on for Jack Harrison.
Great move there earns a corner. Come on!
Alioski wins a corner off of Ryan Shotton.
Free kick now for a foul on Bamford. Nice!
Bamford wins a free kick just outside the Teesiders box and Flint is booked for that
