We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Transfer Deadline Day!

For the first time, the FA has decided to end the summer transfer window a day before the beginning of the Premier League season. I like it a lot. For one thing, we know where teams stand right from the start of the season proper instead of getting August surprises that dramatically alter the fortunes of teams. So what business are you hoping that your team will do on this last day? Who would you like to pick up? Who would you like to hang on to?

Everton did some good business. Snatched up Bernard on a free, bought Mina - who has a buyback clause. Also got Gomes and possibly Zouma on loan. Shored up the bak line and picked up a pesky playmaker.

Everton have definitely made the best signings today. The Cottagers have made some good signings as well. Bob and Kate making quality additions at The Cottage.,

It says awaiting confirmation of Danny Ings to Saints , Kurt Zouma to Everton , and FM to the Cottagers. Bob and Kate have been busy with those last minute transfer deals. The window is closed till January.
