Morning boys
What do I do? Keep watching the exciting Ryder Cup or be bored by my United!!
Manchester United XI: De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, Fellaini, Matic, McTominay, Pogba, Lukaku, Martial
Good morning Bob and Dave. My question was watch my United or have a late lie in? Hope I made the right choice.
Will John be there with Steve , hopefully watching his United getting hammered?
Sanchez not even in the 18
Jose is picking fights with everyone!!
Pogba of course
Complained to Rashford about not warming down properly
Dissed Bailly and Jones... about penalty kicks
Now Sanchez
Who's next?
BLOODY HELL! Jose Out and NOW!
Ho was your week at work? You told me you thought it would be a better year because you have two good classes.
Morning, boys - great to have you on board. I wish I were in DC this morning - it looks magic!
UWS already posted the United side but here's the team news in full as the sides come out surrounded by bubbles:
West Ham (4-3-3) Fabianski; Zabaleta, Balbuena, Diop, Masuaku; Noble, Rice, Obiang; Yarmolenko, Arnautovic, Felipe Anderson.
Substitutes: Adrian, Ogbonna, Fredericks, Snodgrass, Diangana, Antonio, Lucas.
Manchester United (possible 4-D-2) De Gea; Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Matic; Fellaini, McTominay; Pogba; Lukaku, Martial.
Substitutes: Grant, Bailly, Darmian, Herrera, Fred, Mata, Rashford.
Referee Michael Oliver.
So why is Alexis in the doghouse? I have to admit that I've found him underwhelming this season but surely there is a way to motivate him. That's the gaffer's job.
Good morning, Bob. Would have loved to have joined Steve. Is Johnno there? If so hope he watches his team lose today, LOL! Will route for him some other time.
Agreed,Bob. Am none too pleased about that. We really need Alexis. Even below par he can win a match at a moment's notice.
They're off from the London Stadium.
COME ON MAN UNITED!
COME ON MAN UNITED!'
COME ON MAN UNITED!
What an atmosphere in DC and in the London Stadium. And we're away. United in their Pretty in Pink kit and the Hammers in their typical clobber.
Early corner for Utd.
Mark Noble wins a corner off of Luke Shaw.
Sorry, that's for West Ham. Header goes wide.
Valbuena heads wide from the corner from Felipe Anderson
As with your announcer , Jon Champion is the announcer . Kevin Kilbane accompanying him.
Not sure if the full DC contingent is down at the Premier League Live fest. Looks fun, though.
West Ham on top to start
Sorry meant to say as with your United yesterday, Jon Champion is the announcer.
Problem with Jose... Fellaini is his favorite
Let's hope Champion does a better job today.
Grumpy Bear loves Hair Bear! If ever there is a reason to out Jose among a million other ones.
Is it because Jose favors the grafters and not the quality players?
Bugger - sorry, chaps - early goal for Felipe Anderson.
DAMN IT! ANDERSON WITH HIS FIRST HAMMERS GOAL AS HE SCORED OFF A PASS FROM ZABA,
Ruddy Norah.... one nil West Ham after six minutes
Looked like two Hammers offside there. The linesman was only a few feet away from Zaba who crossed from an offside position. Shameful.
That Shaw was awful from Man Yoo . Zaba easily tackled Luke Shaw, played a one two then got past Shaw and his pass was cheekily back heeled in by Felipe Anderson from close range and clearly unmarked.
Thanks, Bob. Grafters are important, but you need a balanced side. Both quality and grafters are needed.
United are still on the coach. Very sluggish at the start here.
Even if Zaba was offside. , Man Yoo were sluggish in the tackles, slow to back track and simply just out of it.
Why aren't the United players ready to play?
Do they want Jose out?
Are they losing on purpose?
Do I want United to lose?
United are already 8 points and counting behind Liverpool after 6/7 games... AND THIRTEEN in goal difference
That's what I was thinking. It's as if they're still in Manchester and none too interested.
First decent move from United. Valencia crosses and Kung Fu had drifted into an offside position. Horrible header.
Shaw... what was he thinking of with that cross? He just kicked it... it's like U10s
Awful header by Martial and offside as well
A header is karate chopped wide as he was offside , but a nice cross.
Yeah - I suspect that Jose has lost the dressing room with all of these antics.
Turning over to golf more often than I should!
That says it all
Awful by Kung Fu running the ball out of play like a ten year old.
United are toothless
Now Jose has another chance to complain about Martial
I've been thinking a late lie in would have been great. Jose may be on his way out with a loss today. Trying to agree to the terms with Zidane's attorneys?
I just checked in with Kate. She's just about to start the drive home. Should be here in about 11 hours.
The replay shows that is Zaba was offside it was close and simply horrible defending from Man yoo more than anything else.
Has Jose been having a strop with Karate Kid as well? Does he like any of the United players other than Hair Bear?
Why are the board still backing him?
He has never played the United way but they used to be winning
Now, they aren't playing the United way, they aren't winning, he complains about his own players, he is forcing players out of the club
Why isn't Lingard even on the bench
Great news. Glad Kate will be back in Fred Town
Remember in the summer... Martial left the US to be at his kid's birth... Jose complained... and wanted him sold
One of the worst things about it.... I am actually not that upset that United are losing... I want him out!
I'm thinking the board and Zidane's agent are still negotiating his salary. Just my thoughts.
Me too. A real Hammering should help expedite his exit.
Good news for you Bob
Of course, you never came for a visit while she was gone
United offside by a Chunk as the two crosses from Yash blew Chunks.
Another promising cross by Young comes to nothing as The Chunk had drifted offside.
It's weird how we get used to the camera view from certain stadiums. I don't like the view at the London Stadium
The Anfield view looks weird now after the stadium renovation
Useless cross by Young... then Lukaku....and others.. offside!
PAY ATTENTION
Sorry, mate - busy time at work.
Work smhirk
LOL, chaps!
A nice cross from Yash is headed wide by a little less than a Chunk
Oh - United knocking on the door again. Young again with the service and Chunk with a header off the outside of the post.
Roberto and TH14 in attendance. Watching Hair Bear or the Chunk?
What was that from Shaw..a cross...a shot....no just crap
I know, but I'm trying to make myself a possible candidate for Dean when the current Dean retires.
I took the day off yesterday , but did some work schmirk!
Pogba just jogs around looking like there is no urgency
I think I want him to win the Jose fight but HE STILL SUCKS
Wishing you well and promise not to call you Dean Martin if you get that position.,
Wow... good for you Bob
As far as I'm concerned I'm rooting for anyone to win a fight with Jose.
Thanks, mate. I don't know if I can get it, but possibly.
LOL, MUR - only if you're Jerry Lewis.
In case anyone is interested, I will be leaving at the beginning of the late match next Saturday and will be gone all day Sunday, missing the big one between Citeh and Liverpool.
Dean of what exactly?
Where are you off to, mate?
Cheers, Bob. I actually do a decent Jerry Lewis imitation!
Dean of the College of Education here at Fredonia.
What are you up to MUR?
How many Deans are there at Fredonia?
Visiting Melanie in San Marcos. Will be watching her perform in the marching band at a football game. She wants me to come to that game because of the music being played.
Surely better than watching Jose vs Raffa?
Liverpool play at Chelsea then City?
That will show their true strength
psst...I like the way they play
I sense #19 at Anfield...first in 29 years(United went 26)
Absolutely...congrats
Smalling heads out a cross from Noble for a Hammers corner.
Four. Ours in the COE, one for the College of Arts, one for the College of Liberal Arts and one for the School of Business.
Thanks, UWS . looking forward to the trip.
Sounds like a good day out, mate.
Sadly , probably true about Liverpool. The big one next Sunday will let us know for sure.
All this against the" long ball"l....United pass it sideways, backwards...get it back to De Gea.... and...LONG KADUMPH
Thanks, Bob. Looking forward to it.
Pogbawatch: 6/10. Nothing much to report. One or two nice bits of skill and strength, one good crossfield pass.
You would be in elite company with that promotion.
United will go in to the dressing room for half time
NOTHING will change in the second half
Against Derby, Jose said...you're winning but Derby have a chance.
With all the money we paid , we expect better than that, but thanks for the update
The Hammers scored eight in midweek and United were hit for eight in a manner of speaking in midweek.
Thanks, mate. It would be my retirement job if I get it.
a corner from Luke Shaw is out for another.
Could easily been given as a penalty. Michael Oliver not impressed
Would that expedite your retirement or would you stay with the original planned retirement date?
Think the player went down too easily. Would have been soft at best as United have been even though not as much as the first few minutes.
A long range effort from Obbiang so far over that it nearly clears the running track.
I'd stay on until 70 regardless. That's the plan that I've worked out with my finance guy.
That last hammers move show that on current form Arnautovic is more of a match winner than anyone in the United side even though Pogba and Sanchez could be.
Nice interplay on the edge of the United box but Yashley got back to hoof away.
Wishing you well with everything and hope everything works out for the best
Wish I had a plan!!
Two nil!!
Good, lord - it's two-nil due to a horrible deflection off a shot by Yarmolenko. Sorry, guys.
BLOODY HELL! JAMMY LENKO PUTS THE HAMMERS TWO UP, SHOWING WHAT A JAM UNITED ARE IN
Terrible deflection.... but close him down!!!
A corner from Anderson was headed on and Jammy Lenko had a shot that deflected off of Lindeloff for what should be an OG.
Into stoppage time.
Into a stoppage time minute as United looking like strawberry jam
Hammers two up at the half and simply not good enough from United.
That's it for the first half. Sorry about that one. You two should have stayed in bed. I'm feeling a bit sleepy, so I'm off for a shower.
Half time...has any manager been fired at half time
Not that upset... I want Jose out
An old Premier League game is scoreless at half time
Coventry 0 Sunderland 0
Hate myself but I'm more interested in the Ryder Cup
Regarding your halftime question I'm thinking yes , but not sure when
We are off for the second half
No changes
Second half underway as Jose sent out his players a couple of minutes early.
Is John at the Premier league Fest in DC
That L1 update you mentioned is a definitely a match between teams that have fallen on hard times. Remember when they were in the top flight.
Not sure. If he is then he must be having a blast
Jose sent the team out two minutes early and they were just standing there... They're going to start slow again!!
Mark Noble straight at De Gea after a free kick was headed then a clever back heel from Arnautovic.
I'm back from a refreshing shower. Come on, you Red Devils!
Never felt that sending the team out early ever worked. it's about the halftime talk , which is meaningless if he's lost the dressing room.
No Lingard or Sanchez for United to call on
Rashford is available after his three game ban... but Jose has problems with him too
Pink Devils
Never felt that sending the players out early worked. It's about the halftime talk , which is meaningless if you have lost the dressing room.
Yash wins a corner off of Dioup.
What was that corner from Yashley?
City Brighton then Chelsea Liverpool on NBCSN. No games on NBC because of the golf
WHAT AN ATROCIOUS CORNER!!!
Jose has too many issues with players.
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???? Yash passes he corner to Noble to set up a Hammers counter as if he meant to do that
A World Cup semi finalist with one of the worst corners I have EVER seen
It was a pass for a quick break for the Hammers
Welcome back from your shower to watch this shower of a performance
West Ham seem content to sit deep and try to hit United on the break.
It was so bad it's as if he intentionally took that poor of a corner.
From the Beeb
6 - Manchester United have won more Premier League matches when two or more goals behind at half time than any other side (6), and were the most recent team to achieve this (Man City 2-3 Man Utd in April). Comeback?
NO!!!
Still don't see any urgency from United
Rashford about to come on
For who? Probably Martial... again...Jose hates him
Of course, you need at least two goals...take off a front man!!
Not sure what's going on between the Black Cats and Coventry. In the first half Coventry made one substitution and the Black Cats made two
Lindeloff coming off for Rashford???
Sounds like Lindelof is coming off. Has he picked up a knock?
Champ says that Liendlof is about to come off.
In this situation I'd always have one of the defensive middies off - either Matic or Hair Bear. Or both!
Great tackle by Smnlling on Arnautovic.
Pogba doing stupid dribbling in his own half...no one moving around from his teammates
Now Jose doesn't even look at Lindeloff...now another one in the dog house
A forward for a defender as Rash is on for Lindelof, who ignores Jose and goes straight down the tunnel. That says it all!
Lindelof straight down the tunnel without any pat on the back from the boss. What is going on?
Rashford on. That move will certainly expose United to breaks.
Lindeloff straight down the tunnel
Jose managing as if he''s picked up some knocks.
Well... HB won't come off
At this rate Jose has more doghouses than Barbara Woodhouse ever did. BOOM BOOM!
United are bloody clueless going forward
More from United now. That's a good sign.
With Hair Bear ,Matic and McTomain is that three defensive middies for United?
Will United get rid of Jose?
I fear they won't
Would they bring in Zidane?
Fred is delighted as the Black Cats take the lead at Coventry
Has Flappy had to do anything of note?
Eventually they will have to if results like this continue.
United 'up a man' ... what do they do..just pass it around....then lose it
Not that I am aware of. Not even had to flap his gums.
Lindelof back on the bench now. Maybe he had to take a crap?
A long serving Black Cat, Lee Cattermole , with a rare goal.
Great header from Fellaini... Flappy does have to do something
Great save
Finally a decent cross
Oh - now Flappy has something to do. Great cross by Yashley and Hair Bear seemed certain to score. Super save by the Pole.
Flappy finally forced into some work. He superbly saves a close range header from Hair Bear off a great cross from Yash
United piling on the pressure now.
So, United have moved Fellaini up top
So is there Lukaku and Fellaini....then Rash and Martial out wide?
Valbuena forced top clear for a United corner that leads to yet another Hammers counter.
Another ATROCIOUS corner by Young... but slightly better than his last
The Hammers counter off a free kick from Yash.
Not sure what exactly United are doing. Look like a bunch of keystone cops out there.
That said it all
"West Ham are dangerous off Man U set pieces"
Arnautovic just fails to divert in a pass from Anderson. Could have been 3-0.
Fred about to come on
Who will come off?
Bet you it is a front man...hope not!
I would bring off Matic
"Piling on the pressure"
One header needed to be saved!
That's it
Agreed. That's four breaks I've counted. Sound about right?
Fred on for Pogba. Is that four defensive middies. I guess three if you take into account HB is up front.
Fred on for Pogba... ridiculous
Mata on for Martial...ridiculous
Goal
Untied score
Rashford
GOAL! Rash gets one back! The come-back is on!
WAY HAY! RASH PULLS ONE BACK FOR UNITED
Poor cross in but Rash did so well backheelng it toward the near post.
2-1!
The LUFC element for this match - Snoddy on for Yarmo.
I didn't celebrate
That was the final roll of the dice from Jose and it did Mata as the last sub was karate chopped on to the pitch
A Hammers change as Snoddy came on for Strawberry Jam and wins a Hammers corner.
At least the Rashford substitution has had some effect. I don't understand taking Pogba, who has some attacking threat, off and putting on the water carrier Fred.
3-1...where was ANYONE back there!
What was that? Sorry, guys - 3-1.
Should Flappy have done better at the near post despite the clever back heel
BLOODY HELL! SO MUCH FOR THE COMEBACK AS ARNAUTOVIC SCORES TO MAKE IT 3-1 HAMMERS
Sunday League defending
Again... I don't want a comeback... I want a PINK SLIP for the boss of the PINK Devils
Have you noticed that, in order to escape a yellow card for taking the shirt off players are taking to having extra shirts with their names available on the bench in order to hold them up to fans?
What a shame. Just as United were getting back into this one. That is a killer blow.
