About ten minutes into the match and it's Foxes 0 Seagulls 0, but with the Foxes dominating early doors
Afternoon, mate - thanks for starting us off today. I'm just home from work and it's raining this afternoon, so I may get a reprieve from Kate's DIY agenda. (LOL!)
Penalty to Brighton early doors!
VAR checking on the call now.
Lee Mason has awarded a penalty to the Seagulls as the Foxes were caught by a long ball on the break. Young Justin bring down young Connolly as VAR checks
Good afternoon, Bob. Sounds like a great afternoon. Partly sunny and hot here
Neil Maupay, the man who destroyed Gooner dreams the other day, will take and....
Saved by Kasper!
WOW ! VAR said penalty and a poor penalty from Neil Maupay was saved by Kasper
I thought Neil Maupay was harshly treated. The contact with Jay Leno seemed unintentional and Gwen the Doozie should have been sent off and be starting a ban
There were lots of goals yesterday
Seagulls win a free kick just outside the Foxes break
Free kick easily headed away
Adam Webster down for the Seagulls and it seems his match is over
Now Lamptey down for the Seagulls as the ball whacked him in the face and he' shedding blood for the cause
Shane Duffy on for the injured Adam Webster , who does not need a dictionary to the meaning of being injured
Time for drinkies before that substitution can be made
Play resumes as that substitution is made
Bissouma clears for a Foxes corner
The corner is easily headed away
Connolly gets behind the Foxes defense cuts in and his shot is deflected for a Seagulls corner. A waste as a foul is called off the corner
A Foxes player Ndidi is booked for a late challenge
Dale Stephens booked for a nasty challenge on Mendy. VAR checking if it should be a red card.
Play resumes as VAR says to keep it a booking
Had to run back over to work for something. I should be able to join you for the second half.
Not sure what Matty Ryan was thinking as he went to throw the ball out to one of his players and it bounced on the ground and Vardy nearly took advantage
Cheers Bob. Look forward to your company in the second half
Aaron Mooy drags a long range effort well wide
It must have taken a deflection as the Seagulls have a corner that is headed away
A cross is headed out for another corner that is headed away
Lampty trips Vardy just outside the Seagulls box
The Fourth President with a pass box on the free kick and after ping pong in the Seagulls box Soyuncu heads wide from a narrow angle a couple of yards from goal.
Into half a dozen stoppage time minutes
James Justin clears for a Seagulls corner
The corner from McAllister is headed away by Vardy, the first man
It's 0-0 at the end of a boring half.
The second half is underway from the KP
I'm just back from the office in time for the start of the second half. How are you today, mate.
Snap shot from Neil Mupay is well wide
Doing well, thank you for asking. How about you?
It's been a good week at work so far. We're gradually adding staff as the weeks go by so things are starting to get back to normal. The Governor is looking closely at the numbers to make sure that we don't see a spike of COVID infections as we do so. So far, so good.
A Seagulls triple change Trossard for Maupay A right and Propper change as Bissouma is replaced, and Solly March on for McAllister in June
Not a very Presidential effort as it's high and wide by the Fourth President
Our governor is talking about adding restrictions if the cases continue to spike. We're one of ten counties requiring masks in all businesses by both customers and employees.
The Seagulls win a right and proper corner
The corer is headed away, but the Seagulls keep possession
The Foxes feel the Burn as Dan wins another Seagulls corner
The corner is headed away
Double change from the Foxes . Harvey Barnes on for Ihenacho then time for drinkies before Tielemans can come on
Afternoon chaps.
I take issue and umbrage that there's somebody on this blog that thinks Maupay was anything but reckless when he charged into Leno who was in the air.
Leno jumped and was extended when gathering the ball, so the height- challenged Maupay couldn't have possibly got his head on the ball. He rather than concede the aerial advantage Leno had, challenged the man, in the air, risking injuring the keeper, which he did.
This kind of risky foul in rugby was dealt with long ago. A player who challenges an opponent, not the ball, when the player is in the air gets a red card. It's deemed that dangerous.
The information I've read is that the rules committee took up this kind of challenge for review, but tabled any action. I hope the reckless Maupay's example will prod them to take it up again so that it's not De Gea next time.
In the meantime, the news on Leno is that he's definitely out for the rest of this season, but that his rehabilitation will likely be complete in time to start next. We'll soldier on with Martinez and won't have to go on the market for a keeper, further putting pressure on non-European competition coffers.
As for Guendouzi, he was rash and stupid to react to Maupay's winning goal when Maupay should have been in the baths instead. He's lucky because that surely is a sending off offense in different situations. Obviously someone on the committee that reviewed it thought Maupay's reckless challenge was an excusable incitement.
Play resumes ,but didn't see who Tielemans replaced
Good afternoon, Steve. I thought Maupay's challenge was definitely reckless, but don't think he went with the intent to injure Leno.I do definitely see your point of view and feel really horribly for Leno and that he is out the rest of the season
Ayoze on for Damari Gray
It's raining cats and dogs in Harlingen
Another shot that is anything by Presidential by the Fourth President
Shane Duffy booked for a poor challenge on the Fourth President
The free kick from the Fourth President is several feet over the goal
The final roll of the dice for the Seagulls as Glen Murray is on for Connolly
Dale Stephens with a poor challenge on the Fourth President, but somehow escapes a booking
You're confusing intent with reasonable awareness of the outcome of his action. I don't think he did mean to maim Leno. But that nasty whippet wanker decided to make a challenge that is inherently dangerous.
It's not so much, "I'm going to do that guy Leno" as, "even though I cannot win the ball, I can still put a bod on that man in the air." Dangerous and he should have been off. And that's what the rules committee will be thinking if they decide to take up a change to the definition of a challenge on the keeper again.
I'd say, if the keeper is in the air, and has the ball ready to gather,, the striker may not make a challenge that unbalances him. Rather, he may stay close in case the keeper hashes it up and drops it.
Lamptey fouls Harvey Barnes
Foxes cross is dunked out for a corner
The corner is headed out then Ayoze wins a corner off of Lamptey
Actually it's a goal kick
I agree, Steve. He definitely should not have made that challenge and as you stated it's a booking under the current rules. To be honest, I have no idea whether the rules committee will make that a sending off offense. It sure would make players think twice about that challenge.
A trio of stoppage time minutes
Dan Burn clears a cross from Harvey Barnes for a Foxes corner

Dave, Here's a photo of Leno with the ball being gathered, but unfortunately, not one of Leno's feet.
Maupay's your height. How would you be able to get the ball, if not by fouling the keeper?
A dour match finishes 0-0 at the KP
Actually, you're taller than Maupay by an inch or so, but the point is still clear. The nasty whippet wanker wasn't favorite at all to win that challenge.
I just saw the picture which is different the view we had during the match. It was definitely a stupid decision. The PL should review that . They do have the authority to take retrospective action or do they since a yellow card was issued?
They're off from SFL 2.0
I just checked. He's a n inch shorter than me and you must be delighted at his miscued penalty
Flappy did flap at a cross , but a foul was called, so he gets away with that

It's 0-0 even though we nearly saw out first goal of the day minutes ago
Halftime
The goal is ruled out for offside and we've got yet another 0-0 half time score line. I haven't even been watching much today and yet I'm still goal starved.
The second half of a drab day of football is underway from SFL 2.0
