We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Afternoon, chaps - Gareth Southgate has given us an early indication of how England will set up today. Here's the starting XI:
England: Pickford, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw, Phillips, Rice, Saka, Grealish, Sterling, Kane.
Lots of changes then: Maguire comes in for Mings, Walker comes in for James, Grealish comes in for Mount and Saka comes in for Foden.
Gareth has also ruled out Mount and Chilwell for the Round of 16 match to come.
Southgate on dropping Foden for tonight's match: "He’s on a yellow card. Given we look like missing two players for the next round, I don’t want to take a risk on a third. It’s a shame for Phil, but I think it’s the sensible decision.”
And on Harry Maguire's inclusion: "Harry Maguire: “He’s been the outstanding English defender in the league this season, and has been a bedrock. It’s a difficult call because Tyrone Mings has been a colossus, but it’s a good opportunity for Harry to get 90 minutes. We were hoping he’d be available for this game, and he is.”

I agree - that's the danger side. Of course, we may still get Portugal in the R16 and Spain in the Quarters but that's the nature of this competition.

There wasn't a tournament but playoffs until the semis
