Another Fascinating Day in the Prem
Morning, chaps! I'm up early for the Arse, who are on the road this lunchtime against the Foxes. The winner will move into fifth in the league. That's followed by the usual 10am fixtures, including Man City v. Palace on NBC Sports. We wrap up the day with the marquee fixture of the weekend - Spurs hosting Man Utd.
Join me for all the fun and games, won't you?

We start at Filbert Street this morning. A very intriguing match to start the weekend, between two in-form teams who have gathered themselves together after a slow start to the season.
The teams now coming out onto the pitch:
Leicester City: Schmeichel, Amartey, Evans, Soyuncu, Castagne, Tielemans, Soumare, Thomas, Maddison, Iheanacho, Vardy.
Subs: Bertrand, Barnes, Ward, Choudhury, Dewsbury-Hall, Vestergaard, Ndidi, Daka, Lookman.
Arsenal: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tavares, Saka, Partey, Sambi Lokonga, Smith-Rowe, Lacazette, Aubameyang.
Subs: Leno, Odegaard, Maitland-Niles, Holding, Cedric, Pepe, Elneny, Kolasinac, Martinelli.
Referee: Michael Oliver (Northumberland).
It's poppy season in Britain starting this weekend, with the managers bringing out wreaths to mark the period leading up to Remembrance Day.
And after the preliminaries, we're set to go here. Let's have some goals, eh?
Quick start there with Saka getting in behind the Leicester defense. Could have been an early own goal off Amartey.
And Aubama wins Arsenal their first corner.
Oh - Great ball in from Smith-Rowe and it was inadvertently flicked on by Vardy. Only needed a touch.
Morning Boys
Arsenal take the lead as I join!!
I won't be on here a 100% today
PEA with another chance....saved easily by Peter's lad
GOAL! Another corner swung in and this time and Gabriel nods home!
Arsenal 0-1 up early on. Leicester haven't really woken up yet.
Morning, Dave - great timing from you. It's been all Gunners so far. Leicester are still in the dressing room. I'm sure that Brodge will be livid.
So, as I mentioned earlier, Arsenal have leapfrogged a bunch of sides, including Leicester, into fifth.
Arsenal have really improved!
As I said, I may not be on here for all the time....rain coming...leaves all over the place!
Also, Doug is in the hospital right now. Took him to the VA hospital on Tuesday and then again on Wednesday. They admitted him. He's doing ok but still not sure what is up
What a change in this Arsenal side since those first three losses, when everyone was calling for Arteta's head.
Arsenal are all over them!!
Now Partey tries one from distance. Why not? Kasper down to save sharply.
Free kick chance for the Foxes
First real attack for Leicester and Ben White catches Maddison. Dangerous free kick chance for the Foxes.
Maddison straight into the wall...useless effort
I'm really sorry to hear about Doug - please pass my best on to Kathy. I'm sure she's worried about him.
League Cup Quarter Final Draw was made this morning
Arsenal vs Sunderland
Brentford vs Chelsea
Liverpool vs Leicester C
Tottenham vs West Ham
Very bright opening to this match - I'm really enjoying this. Lakonga wins another corner for the Arse.
Thanks...I will
The natives are getting restless already in the KP.
Good draw for the Arsenal. You'd have to favor them to get through to the Semis. And suddenly it's all smiles for Mikel Arteta.
Oh - great run from Tavares, who then laid it on to Laca who played a dangerous ball in. Wins a corner.
Two Nil!!
VERY MUCH DESERVED!!!
Leicester still in bed
GOAL! Smith-Rowe knocks in the second. What on earth is going on here!
0-2 Gunners!
Are Leicester Man U in disguise?
I don't know what's up with them. We've got them at Elland Road next week. I hope they play like this again.
West Ham would deserve to win their first League Cup this season!!
They have already beaten Manchester United and Manchester City....next up Spurs!
If they get thru that... Liverpool? Chelsea? Arsenal?
United made Leicester look like World Beaters
Gabriel just went down by himself....wonder what is up with him
Gabriel is down needing some treatment now. Rob Holding warming up.
He's up again...looks ok
Definitely - I don't like David Moyes' West Ham side but they've certainly proven themselves in the Carabao.
Leicester really playing like United....going backwards!!
Great high press from the Arsenal - we need to do that to Leicester next weekend.
Nice effort from Inneacho...I guess it was saved
Leicester just starting to creep back into the match - Iehanacho strikes one and Ramsdale get tipped it around.
I am not sure he should have left OT....he was never given time
I agree with you - it would have been interesting to see what he could have done given a few seasons like Fergie was.
Nice overlap from Tomayasu but Kasper plucked the cross out.
You can hear that Leicester fans are really fed up.
Seven more goals from the Arsenal and they'd be fourth!
Leicester are seeing plenty of the ball now, which wasn’t the case during the first 20 minutes. But they’re still struggling to pull Arsenal out of shape. All a bit ponderous.
Arsenal are showing the other sides in the league how to get after Leicester and other sides (Spurs, Wolves, Everton, WH) who like to defend and hit on the break.
Leicester with another chance of a free kick
Stupid foul by White
Last time it went straight into the wall
Free kick chance now for Leicester. Maddison and Iehanacho over it.
Maddison with a great effort and a great save!!
Saved off the line
Oh - great hit and Ramsdale with a worldy of a save - twice!
A scare there - the Arsenal have to kick up the intensity or they'll let Leicester back in.
I read somewhere that Leeds were on top before they fell behind at the Emirates
Half time
Steve must be pleased!!
Half time - it's coffee cake time.
Good Morn ing, Bob and Dave.. Just woke up and here to join you for the match. Have a strong pot of coffee brewing
Agreed. Steve must be delighted.
Cottagers two up vs the Baggies in a promotion six pointer between teams relegated from the Prem last season. Kate with both goals.
Cottagers second, two points behind the Cherries who kickoff at the Reading Railroad at 3 PM EDT today.
Attacking subs for Brodge at the start of the second half - Harvey Barnes and Adamah Lookman both on.
Harvey Barnes and Ade Lookman on for Amerty and Ihenacho
Second half underway from the KP
Morning, David - how are you, mate? It's been all Arsenal so far here this morning.
Amartey and Ihenacho are the ones who've gotten the hook for Leicester.
Sounds like Kate is having a field day this morning!
Arsenal straight onto the front foot once again - Tavares wins a corner.
Doing well, thank you for asking. I guess I slept in a tad late because I sampled several different drafts of the 5X5 ale. When I say samples, I mean pints.
Morning David
Boozer!!
Ian Darke. mentioned that these two first met in 1895 as Leicester Fosse and woolwich Arsenal. For being a twat he's quite the anorak this morning
LOL, Dave! Good Morning
Dave you will be interested to note that the tiny town where we're moving has it's open local brewery and I'm not talking moonshine
Leicester go very close
Nice shot
Oh - best move yet from Leicester. Thomas on the end of a great ball from Tielemans but his shot was wide.
OH! Nice one tough passing from the Foxes and just wide by Luke Thomas off a nice pass from Tielemans
Now Arsenal are impersonating United!
Sounds like you had a good night out!
Then a nice back from Party time for a Foxes corner
Odegaard looks to be coming on for Laca now.
Pretty good night out and finally some pleasant weather with a decent level of humidity.
The Gazette is coming off...tactical?
Another good save by Ramsdale....England's #1?
Another good sharp save from Ramsdale.
Odor Guard onas a Gunners sub. Who came off? If you don't ell me then I will have to read about it in La Cazette
Nice near post save from Ramsdale
He might well get a look-in.
Maddison's form has really dipped!
That's a reliable pun from you, David - well in!
Tielemans with a pass off of Tomiyasu for a Foxy corner
Bit of aggro now between Jonny Evans and Ramsdale.
Cheers, Bob.
Johnny Evans with a nasty bump there on Ramsdale
Ramsdale isn't pleased
Jonny Evans booked for that?
Barnes in now and Ramsdale saves at his feet - but Arsenal need to wake up here. They've allowed the Foxes back into this match.
Nice reflex block by Ramsdale from Harvey Barenes for a Foxes corner
All Leicester right now...I think Steve would like David to go back to bed.... it was all Arsenal when David was in Bedfordshire
Ramsdale should start for England instead of Pickford based on this form
LOL, Dave! I won't be in Steve's good books in the Foxes pull this one out like they did vs United a few weeks ago
This evening I will be going to my last ever Toros match. Win vs first place El Paso and they're in the playoffs. Otherwise they have to hope El New Mexico loses at home to last place Real Monarchs
Evans is now in the book
Was he the last man?
Of course, all the commentators want is a red card in every match
Evans pulls back Aubama and booked. Should it be red for denial of a goal scorpion opportunity. Steve will be livid
Var agrees that it's a booking
Hope they win in your finale
PEA with a nice volley cross and then a chance at the back post well saved by Peter's boy
Free kick from Saka volleyed across by Alabama and not sure who it touched last. Corner to the Gunners. Nice save by Kasper from Aubama off the corner
Thanks, Dave. If we do then we're away to Phoenix in the first round. They won it all last season, but a good season as it would be the Toros first ever playoffs in their five years of existence
Go on, the Toros!
Now it's Vardy into the book for a late one on Ben White.
I will have to pick a new American team to support next season. In MLS it would be Atlanta United . There are several USL teams two hours away, but in different directions
Vardy in the book... it was really nothing
There is no consistency
White will lay down for a while
Foxes fans chatting that the Gunners are cheating. They're watching a different match then us
Charlotte FC
https://charlottefootballclub.com
I'm surprised to see Leicester fans in shirtsleeves today. How warm is it? It's bloody cold and rainy here in WNY.
English refs were the most consistent when we were at LHS. They haven't been for years
Cold and rainy in ENY too
I agree - David - at most Arsenal are doing basic match management.
Would you be closer to Atlanta or Charlotte?
Definitely be a Charlotte fan... just as they are starting
They and Atlanta United would be the local Championship teams .. In L1 it would be Chatanooga and Greenville. In L2 Asheville, but L2 ended their season in July. The L1 and L2 teams are a two hour drive. I think Charlotte is about three ands a half hours away.
I'm hoping that we can get one more nice weekend and I can finish the winter prep.
I'm closer to Atlanta. The downtown area is about two and a half hours or a little more away . I think Charlotte is a little more than three and a half hours away. Elizabeth has an aunt that lives near Atalanta in case I need to spend the night without driving back till the morning
Kate with a hat-trick against the ten man Baggies as the Cottagers are now three up
Since Thursday the weather has been a tad colder and a lot less humid. Some of the humidity is supposed to return on Monday. I will get a taste of the NY weather when we move. Time to experience the four seasons
Doesn't look like I am going to get to the leaves today...STOP RAINING!
Arsenal saving some of their staters now - Saka comes off.
Sorry, mate.
When we were in NC there were plenty of leaves to rake. That won' t start here until around the time we move out
I second that. Hopefully the weather improves tomorrow.
Arsenal have somehow hung on to the 0-2 lead. They took their foot off the gas around the half hour mark.
Kolasinac on for Smith-Rowe for some rare first team action
A quintet of stoppage time minutes
Arsenal away fans loving their day out in the Midlands.
Congrats Steve
It's over and there Gunners up to fifth place as they win 0-2 with all the goals scored in the first half
Thanks to Kate's hat-trick the Cottagers defeat the Baggies 3-0 in a promotion six pointer between two yoyo teams.
Agreed. Congratulations, Steve
That's it - a great win for the Arsenal, who leap up to 5th in the table.
I'm off to the shower.
Next Pool vs Seagulls on USA and Citeh vs Palace on NBCSN. That leaves three matches on the COCK
I'm using the PIP to watch both matches. They're off from both Anfield and the Etihad.
Chelsea at the Toon , so the top three should all win , but you never know
I am off for my walk with Kath
I will listen to SXM FC coverage
I put on Goal Rush on my computer
I have goal Rush on the Cock and they're showing the match from Anfield. Nice save by Allison from Solly Match in late October. Should have scored with just the keeper to beat
GOAL !!! HENDO GIVE POOL THE LEAD WITH A SIDE FOOTED SHOT IN THE UPPER 90 SECONDS LATER
I'm back from a refreshing Saturday shower. I'm watching the Newcastle v. Chelsea match on Peacock, as that's the one that has the most implications for Leeds. Obviously hoping for a big Chelski win.
The Liverpool goal works for me, too.
GOAL!!!! ZAHA GIVES PALACE A SHOCK LEAD AT THE ETIHAD. CONOOR GALLAGHER CAUGHT CITEH FAFFING ABOUT AT THE BACK THEN PASSED TO ZAHAA WHO SCORED WITH A WELL PLACED FINISH WITH JUST EDERSON TO BEAT
Jeff Stelling has apparently announced today that he'll be leaving Sky at the end of the season after 30 years at the channel.
Chris Wood has given Burenley the lead vs the Bees and move out of the drop zone ahead of Leeds on goal difference
That one doesn't work for me - hoping for a Citeh win.
Welcome back, Bob. Sorry about the news at Turf Moor
WOW! Jeff's been there a while so a deserved retirement
Also need a Brentford win over Burnley.
Not surprisingly, Newcastle are defending with ten men behind the ball, just trying to hang on. It's a matter of time.
Liverpool now top and Citeh now third
I'm watching Goal Rush along with the two televised matches
Citeh wine free kick as Tyreek Mitchell fouls Jesus
OH! Long range shot from Bissouma tipped on to the post by Alison then out for a Seagulls corner
Swans two up at Posh as are the Potters vs Cardiff. Blackburn one up at the Rams as is Coventry at the KP. Coventry now fourth
Goal Rush at Anfield and says there's a goal at Turf Moor, but is watching an injured player instead
The goal was disallowed for offside and Bob will be pleased as Burnley could have gone two up. Max Coronet with the disallowed goal
Ox on for the injured Keita. That's an attacking change
Saints take the lead at the Hornets
Che Addams with his first goal of the season with a nice finish in the upper 90 from just outside the box
Blackburn two up at the Rams., Blackburn now sixth
GOAL !!!! POOL GOES TWO UP AS MANE HEADS IN A NICE CROSS FROM THE OX
The Seagulls on the verge of moving down the table more toward their true position off their lofty perch
That's lovely but I need Brentford to pull their fingers out.
Ziyech nets for Chelski but he's ruled offside unfortunately.
Bees with a chance to tie it up, but Nick Pope makes a nice save from Ivan Toney
Barnsley takes the lead at Bristol City and move out of the drop zone ahead of Cardiff on goal difference. That's not idle gossip
PNE takes the lead vs Luton
GOAL !!! POOL GOERS THREE UP AS IT'S A NIGHTMARE FOR GOALKEEPER, ROBERT SANCHEZ. HIS CLEARANCE COMES OFF OF MANE FOR AN EMBARASSING GOAL. AFTER A VAR CHECK IT'S DISALLOWED AS IT CAME OFF MANE'S Arm
Burnley goes two up vs the Bees thanks to a rare goal by Matty Lowton. A header. Meanwhile. Kyle Walker-Peters with a spectacular goal line clearance to preserve the Saints 0-1 lead at VR
Then the Saints should;d have gone two up but Che ADDAMS MISSES A SITTER. WIDE OPEN AT THE FAR POSt from a yard out off a nice cross from Stu Armstrong and heads into the ground and over
Burnley goes three up as Burnley's French coronet puts them three up with a nice finish from the D. What a signing he's been
GOAL AND OUT OF THE TOP DRAWER AS MWEPU , THE ZAMBIAN, WITH HIS FIORST FOR THER SEAGULLS. MAY HAVE BEEN MEANT AS A CROSS, BUT CURLED INTO THE UPPER 90 AND NOW 2-1 AT ANFIELD
A pair of stoppage time minutes at both Anfield and the Etihad
WOW! CITHE DOWEN TO TEN MEN AS LAPORTE SENT OFF FOR DENIAL OF A GOAL SCORING OPPORTUNITY. VAR CHECKING
POOL lead Seagulls 2-1 at the half
The decision stands and La Porte takes his sweet time but finally leaves. Citeh both a goal down and a man down
Now weekend at Bernie's booked during the weekend for a naughty challenge on Zaha. Pep will want the halftime whistle ASAP
Wow - that's a turn up for Citeh.
Half-time at SJP - Newcastle sadly still hanging on for what would be a gritty point.
Palace both a goal up and a man up at the half
These scorelines are no good at all. My beloved Leeds have dropped into the relegation zone again, behind Burnley on goal difference. Brentford are letting us down, as are Chelski and Citeh. Grrr!
Second half underway in all the matches
Leeds needs a big win at CR tomorrow. It would be a perfect Halloween
Actually, the second hasn't started yet at the Etihad
Salah has a goal disallowed for offside as he rounded Robert Sanchez off a through ball from Mane. Just off
Second halfs starting up - I'm hoping for some goals against the lower half sides.
Second half finally underway from the Etihad
A win against the Canaries is a must. Fortunately, Norwich have lost 7 of 9, have only scored two goals all season and have a -21 GD. But I'm still nervous.
OH! long range sho from Ziyech deflects off of Lascelles and off the post . Still 0-0 at SJP. Not Ziyech's day as he had a goal disallowed for offside
I don't blame you. The Canaries have drawn their last two matches at CR, so Leeds needs a professional performance tomorrow
Potters three up vs Cardiff as are Swans vs Posh. Bristol City have come from behind to lead Barnsley 2-1. Barnsley now back in thew drop zone and Cardiff out off the drop zone
PNE two up vs Luton and Brum score two quick goals to go two up at the Riverside
Cambridge one up vs the Real Dons while Argyle have come from behind to lead the Tractor Boys 2-1 and areback on top ahead of wycombe on goal difference
Dave will be pleased that Pompey has taken the lead vs Bolton
