Midweek Footie Madness!
Happy Hump Day, everyone! I'm still buzzing from that last gasp penalty win for my Leeds boys, so I'm back during my Office Hours today to follow the busy Wednesday schedule in the Prem. It all starts in a few minutes with a number of 2:30pm kickoffs. Of course the marquee match is the Merseyside Derby at 3:15pm with white hot Liverpool traveling across Stanley Park to meet their city cousins Everton, who are in terrible form of late.
Should be fun - join me if you're watching.

I've got the Peacock stream for the Chelsea v. Watford match up right now. I'll be watching that one until the Merseyside Derby starts.
Of course, I'm hoping that the league leaders hammer the Hornets tonight.
The team news out of Vicarage Road now:
Watford: Bachmann, Femenia, Cathcart, Troost-Ekong, Masina, Louza, Joao Pedro, Cleverley, Sissoko, King, Bonaventure.
Subs: Ngakia, Rose, Gosling, Fletcher, Tufan, Kabasele, Hernandez, Kucka, Elliot.
Chelsea: Mendy, Chalobah, Christensen, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Loftus-Cheek, Saul, Alonso, Pulisic, Mount, Havertz.
Subs: Arrizabalaga, Jorginho, Thiago Silva, Lukaku, Werner, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech, Sarr.
Referee: David Coote (Nottinghamshire)
Good Afternoon, Bob. Here to join you . I'll watch that one on the Roku TV and pick one to watch on the computerI guess Hammers vs Seagulls on the computer
I'm sure you're in the red corner for the Mersey Derby, which by the way is really poor form
OH! Neil Maupay nearly gives the Seagulls the lead. His former Bees teammate, Ben Rama , gifted possession and Bissouma passed to him as he shot an inch wide
Watford have made a quick start here and their neighbors haven't really gotten off the bus yet.
Saints take the lead vs the Foxes.
Afternoon, David - I hope that you're having an enjoyable week. Yes, I'll certainly be in the Red corner tonight. It's top half vs. bottom half there.
I'm not at all happy with either Brighton or Soton scoring - and Chelsea have got to pull their fingers out.
GOAL ! SOUCEK HEADS ION A CORNER FROM FORNALS TO GIVE THE HAMMERS THE LEAd
Seagulls didn't score. Hammers are one up vs them. Hopefully that's better news
Thanks, Bob. Not the best of weeks, but hopefully chatting on the LOB will cheer me up as it has in the past
Saints up to 11th . Leeds down to 16th, but still five points clear off the drop zone
Massina down injured for the Hornets. That must sting
Robert Sanchez spills a shot from Coufal, but gamers at the second attempt. Sarmiento down for the Gulls
Not sure what's going on in the stands now - someone has a medical emergency. That's the second time I've seen that happen recently.
The young Ecuadorian Marched off in December as his match ends early
Really happy to see the Seagulls go a goal behind. I'm hoping that Johnno's boys can do the biz today.
Not sure either, Bob. The match halted at VR
Play resumes at the London Stadium
FOTMOB just stated that the match at VR has been abandoned. Not sure why
I'm sorry to hear about your bad week; I'm always around for a chat if you need me and don't feel like posting it on this public forum.
On the ROKU I'm switching to Saints vs Foxes
Thanks, Bob. It's just the stress from the move and I was in an auto accident yesterday. I will try to be more positive
ON the ROKU it said match suspended at VR. I still don't know why
There last action at VR was the injury to Adam Masina . I think that has something to do with why the match was suspended/aborted/ abandoned
Adam Webster down injured. That's the dictionary definition of an injury
Not a good evening g for defenders named Adam
Foxes win their first corner of the match as Dan Burn about to come on for Adam Webster. That's the dictionary definition ope like for like
GOAL !!! JONNY ON THE ASPOT AS JONNY EVANS TIES IT UP FOR THE FOXESX AT ST. MARY'S
Foxes corner clearerd then a nice run down the right by the Fourth President then a poor defensive header from his cross , then passed back and McCarthy fumble;ed a shot as Jonny was on the spot to put away the rebound
The Foxes move up to 7th place, seagulls down to tenth place, and Saints down to 16th place behind Leeds on goals scored. Same goals different e as Leeds , but Saints have only scored a dozen goals, and Leeds a baker's dozen. Tasty stats for Bob.
The coverage has started for the Merseyside Derby as we wait for that match at Vicarage Rd. to continue.
Unlikely combo for the Foxes goal as the shot from Ndidi , indeed , was spilled and Jonny Ebvans scored.
Johnny Evans has equalized for Leicester, which really helps matters.
I switched to the match at St. MAruy's on the Roku. Have the match from the London Stadium on the computer
The second time we're hearing the immortal Z Cars Theme tonight.
Afternoon Gents
Good news from Watford that the spectator has been stabilized and the game has restarted
Saints back on top
As we are up and running at Goodison
Liverpool almost take the lead....wide open header!!
All Liverpool here
Oh - Matip should have scored there - free header!
Another huge chance...Salah misses from inside the 6
Oh - now Mo Salah has missed a glorious opportunity!
I've got Talksport on my phone for score updates
Can't be bothered about putting on Peacock
Henderson....wallop...one nil
GOAL! Hendo finishes off a superb move to put the Reds ahead!
0-1!
Great, cool finish
Welcome, Dave!
Hiya Bob
It is official.... NBCSN closing on New Years Eve
Triple Header of matches on USA on NYD

Everton are now a point ahead of Leeds and let's hope that their -4 GD gets worse throughout the evening.
No games on the TV tomorrow!!
WHY PUT THE UNITED/ARSENAL MATCH ON THE COCK
Wow - that's big news. I hope it's the same crew on USA - Becky Lowe, the Robbies and so on. I could do without Kyle Martino but he hasn't been around much.
Three First Names with a shot saved by Pickers
Dive by Townsed....gets a yellow
HATE THE DIVING!
Watford 0 Chelsea 1
Mount with the leader's goal
Geez....the second half at St Mary's has been delayed because of ANOTHER medical emergency in the stands
Salah.....two nil Pool!!
Wahay! Mo Salah puts Liverpool 0-2 up - Everton are all over the place.
ANOTHER game with at least two goals for Liverpool... move over Sunderland!
Salah with my kind of finish!
Struth...almost three!! Could have been an OG
I wonder what's going on with that. I don't remember that stopping games in the past and that's the third one in recent weeks.
Back from a lengthy call with the website for which I booked a flight for Melanie that was canceled mysteriously. Still working on it
Did you see that Arsenal's Gabriel had to fight off baseball bat armed thugs trying to steal his Merc
I've just noticed that Everton are actually now level on points with us and are down to -6 GD. Let's have a couple of more goals, you Reds.
TWO TONIGHT!!
Blimey - I didn't realize that London had gotten that dangerous! Where's he living?
Bit of a Hollywood save there by Pickers. I don't know why keepers can't catch the ball more often.
West Ham have a goal called back for offside by VAR
Goal at Villa Park
Diaz gives the Citizens the lead
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-59493509
Watford 1 Chelsea 1
Leon Bailey goes off injured and replaced by Yash. Isn't that a left back for a striker?
Jota's not very happy about that challenge. Yellow card for Allain, who won't be on the Portugeezer's Christmas card list.
Good news for the teams at the top. Not so good for Bob
Bloody hell, Chelsea - what are you playing at?
Welcome back David...hope it works out
I have become pretty busy with all the tutoring I have.
Ruben Dias heads wide as he was trying too get his and Citeh's second
I'm off home to enjoy the rest of the action. Hope to join you for the second half.
Thanks, Dave. I picked the option too have them call me back, so I won't have top be forever on hold
The Fourth President makes it Desmond at St. Mary's . Bob will be pleased
Desmond at St Marys
Mr President scores in his third game in a row
Beat me to it
Gray gives Everton hope
Come on Desmond
Leeds tied with Saints in all categories . Not sure if there is a headed to head tiebreakers
Well done by the Toffees. Nice tackle won in midfield then nice through ball by Rich Arlison for Damari Gray , who nut megged the on rushing Alison
Cards coming out all over the place at Goodison
Bob will not be pleased with that first Toffees goal in 332 minutes as that helps the Toffees goal difference
Proper derby here!!
Not a tasty riesult for Luca who Digned in to a card
With Citeh top, there's bound to be a fair amount of change in the PPP if these results hold. Still lots of time to play
City two up
B Silva doubles the blues lead
Gray gets a yellow like Townsend
Why do they dive!!!
VAR will over rule it!!
Mane has a header saved
Everton have a chance with the last kick of the half
Daco haČ™ shot saved
Back from a phone call with United Airlines. Matter resolved. I don't like their United way. Worse than that of MUFC but successfully resolved
Back from the loo
Brighton scored a 89th minute equalizer at West Ham
Maupay with an overhead kick.... glad he missed the sitter vs Leeds
Villa get an early goal in the second half
Wolves Burnley end nil nil
Glad it has worked out
Neil Maupay ties it up for the Seagulls at the London Stdium . Bob and Steve will not be pleased
I'm sure Bob would have preferred a Wolves win, but a draw is better than a Burnley win
Thanks, Dave. Greatly appreciated
Hammers vs Seagulls finished 1-1
Ends all square at West Ham
I guess that is a good score for United as well as Wolves dropping two points as well
Volley from Thiago not too far wide for Pool
Would this be Stevie G's first loss as Villa boss. If so, no disgrace in losing to Citeh. The majority of teams do
Out swinging corner from MAhrtez volleyed just wide by Jesus from just outside the box
Nice header by Watkins off a cross from McGinn cleared by Age for a corner. Ezra Konsa wanted a penalty for a foul, but nothing do and rightly so
Desmond has watched a fair amount of footie at St.Mary's. Been there for a while
Andy Robertson called for a late challenge on Anthony Flash Gordon
Chelsea take the lead at Vicarage Road
Free kick from Andros off the wall for a Toffees corner
I t finishes Desmond at St. Mary's , Saints vs Foxes
Liverpool break from a corner....Salah makes it 3-1
Surprised Everton have given them a game after the beginning
Big mistake by Coleman....Jorginho in disguise
That goal from Ziyech puts Chel;sea back on top of the table.
GOAL !!! NICE FINISH FROM SALAH GIVES POOL A 1-3 LEAD
The goal came because Coleman couldn't cut the mustard. That pun is in a Salah's market not a buyer's.
BOOM BOOM!
ANDROS the pantomime villain too. Poor free kick resulted in a corner then corner headed out by the first man to Damari Gray.Decent back pass from Gray, but horribly misjudged by Coleman and salad was off to the races to score with that great finish
The three Final Results are draws
The three still going on....the top three are all winning away from home
Jesus! How did he miss that . Nice Portuguese combo as Joao Cancelo found Weekend at Bernie's wide right . Nice pass from Bernie and shanked well wide by Jesus
Leeds the only team with a home win so far in the midweek fixtures. A big payday for anyone who bet on that with the bookies
James Milner on for Thiago
OH! Great close range block by Ederson from a recent grad of the Villa academy . Nice passes from Doug Luis and Buendia
Morgan Sanson on for Marvelous Nkamba. Hope it's a marvelous ellis change by Stevie G
Jota...great turn and great finish
4-1
If Pool score two more without reply then Leeds moves ahead of the Toffees on goal difference
Make that one more. Toffees ahead of Leeds and Saints on goals scored
Toffees definitely out classed. Is that it for Raffa in charge of the Toffees?
Long Pool possession with The Toffees chasing shadows then a nice pass from Andy Robertson to Jota , who turned Ben Godfrey then scored , beating Pickford at the near post
Not exactlyEngland caliber keeping from Pickford on that last goal. Do you agree, Dave?
Ox on for Hendo
Like for like as Tosun on for Andre Gray
Boos as Jack Grealish is warming up on his return to Villa Park
Villa really giving it a go
Grealish about to come on
Here comes Jack....what will the response be
Fans singing..."I'm Villa to I Die"
I agree...went straight thru him
Fans booing as his number has been put up...some are clapping
A mixed reception for Grealish as Jack is back on his return to Villa Park
The boos go up as he first touches it...he passes it straight out of play
Chelsea hold on to win at Watford
Like for like as Minnie Minnow on for Jota
Apparently, Bob got lost on the way home....he lives close!!!
Boos for that result. Was hoping Desmond would make an appearance at VR. One can only hope.
LOL, Dave. Google maps malfunctioning?
I'm finally home after having been delayed to see Diogo Jota doing what looks a lot like the Gator Chomp as he notches Liverpool's fourth. I would have liked a larger scoreline but I'll settle for 1-4. Everton are deep in it now.
Sorry, chaps but I'm really happy with that Chelsea win - I was worried that they'd allow Watford to grab a point.
Into stoppage time at Goodison Park . A trio of those minutes. Bob wants another Pool goal
4 added minutes at VP
A Barber Shop Quartet of those minutes at Villa Park
Welcome back, Bob
All over at Goodison
The Toffees gave it a go for a while but well beaten
It's over at Goodison and the Reds thrash the Toffees 1-4 at Goodison in the Mersey Derby
It's over at Villa Park and Citeh hold on to win 1-2
All over at VP
Top three win away from home
Everyone else draws
Thats it for me
Talk to you tomorrow
TTFN
A double cock Thursday tomorrow with the key match being United vs the Gunners
Cheers everyone . Great chatting . Look forward to chatting tomorrow.
CHEERS!
In the end, the scores have really lined up for us, with even Soton drawing. Leeds are still in 15th, five points off relegation now. If we can get another win on Saturday against Brentford, and the other results go our way, we might be mid-table going into the horrible Christmas schedule.
