A Very Big Sunday Morning
Morning, chaps! My beloved Leeds United start the second of their season today with a visit to Nottingham Forest, one of six matches that I see as potentially winnable. This is also the first match since the end of the January transfer window, where the board loosened the purse strings to splash out on several players, including a club record fee for 20-year old striker Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim. So, now that Jesse Marsh has the tools that he needs to keep Leeds in the division, it's time for us to start winning matches. Three points are a must today. Come on, you Leeds! #MOT!!

Steve Cooper’s men are on a good run in the Premier League, unbeaten in four, with a couple of wins and a couple of draws. They were comfortably dispatched by Manchester United over two legs in the Carabao Cup semi-final, but there is no shame in that.
Leeds aren’t in such fine fettle results-wise, winless in four, although three of those were draws so things could be considerably worse.
The team news out of the City Ground today:
Nottingham Forest: Navas, Mangala, Williams, Gibbs-White, Johnson, Freuler, McKenna, Danilo, Boly, Lodi, Wood. Substitutes: Hennessy, Worrall, Colback, Lingard, Surridge, Aurier, Scarpa, Ayew, Felipe.
Leeds: Meslier, Ayling, Struijk, Cooper, Wober, Adams, Roca, Harrison, Sinisterra, Bamford, Gnonto. Substitutes: Robles, Firpo, Kristensen, Greenwood, Aaronson, Summerville, McKennie, Joseph, Georginio.
Good Morning, Bob. Here to join you for there match at the Forest.
COME ON LEEDS! MOT!
Supposedly Forest has set a top flight record for new signings in a season with twenty nine. What's the point of signing that many players out once? Not all of them can even play. I think the owner is responsible for that, not Steve Cooper
I'm interested in seeing new boy Georginio. MOT and MWTO-must win this one!!!
Leeds first top flight match at the City Ground since 1999. Incredible that it's been that long
Good Morning, Steve. Great to chat with you. How have you been? Are you talking about Rutter? he showed promise at Accrington Stanley last weekend. Who are they?
Kaylor Navas, on loan from PSG, starting in place of the injured Dean Henderson
They're off from the City Ground.
COME ON LEEDS!
OHG! Early chance for Leeds. Sinister Luis got past Willie Boy and a great close range block by Navas
Morning, guys - thanks for joining me and or the support.
Oh - Sini nearly there. Good stop by Navas!
Fast start from us.
Cheers, Bob. Here to support you. In a contest of teams with new signings it will be interesting to see whose are more influential
Free kick chance now.
BUGGER! BRENNAN JOHNSON VOLLEYS FOREST INTO THE LEAD WITH THEIR FIORST ATTACK OF THE MATCH . SORRY, MATE!
Bollocks - against the run of play, Forest score from a free kick. Grrr!
It wasn't the great free kick from Morgan Gibbs-White. An unusually poor header from Tyler Adams and Brennan Johnson took advantage with a great volley. Sorry, Bob.
Sorry, mate. I know you and Jeesse won't be pleased with the defending off the free kick. Plenty of time to come back
Yikes! Leeds last top flight win at the City ground was in November 1971. I think Forest was relegated that season then Cloughie came a few seasons later
That goal seems to have knocked us off our early rhythm.
I'm not surprised - they probably haven't played that often in the top flight since then.
There was the Clough years where they played sixteen consecutive seasons and the teams met eight of those seasons. I guess that includes those relegation seasons in the 90s. For some reason, as you have stated they seem to be a bogey side, but now is as good a time as any to end the hex
A break in the match as Boly gets attention. Time for JM to remind out players of the game plan.
I just checked . Since 1971 that's a dozen top flight matches without a win at the City Ground. Time to end the hex. Right mate?
Absolutely, right, mate. Now's the time. We desperately need the points.
Getting a bit chippy out there now. Danilo picks up a yellow for a hack on Pascal.
This Fiorest side doing better than many thought. Who would have picked them to be above the Hammers and Toffees?
Oh - Sini should have scored! Gnonto laid it on a plate for him.
BUGGER! Willy should have tied it up. Blasted over from close range off the free kick.
A sign I haven't followed news closely enough. I heard that Jack nearly signed for the Foxes , but it didn't go through at the midnight hour. Not a fan of the Fox trot?
The color guy sums up the frustration for fans this season. We've played most of the football, but are still behind.
Yeah - we pulled out a new contract for him at the 11th hour. Apparently he even had a medical at Leicester. I thought he was gone!
Oh - now Lord Bamford miskicks and finally Ayling forces a save out of Navas.
YIKES! Sorry, mate, but not a good stat. Forest undefeated at home in the Prem since losing three win the trot in late August and early September. Last lost 2-3 vs the Cottagers in September. Better at home than I thought. A draw would be a decent result.
A decent Ayling save by Navas
I have the sinking feeling that it's going to take something special to beat Keylor Navas today.
That's good news regarding Jack. That would have been a huge loss
Agreed, mate. That's a decent loan signing for Forest. Leeds needs to continue chipping away at him
OH! Off the corner Navas claws away an Ayling headed pass acrobatically
Oh - Ayling comes around the back now and forces another save out of Navas who has injured himself.
Oh - Gnonto has a shot saved now! Great save by Navas, who is keeping Forest in this one.
Time to take Trooper walkies as we will be MOT! Will be back for the second half
Half-time: A really frustrating match so far. As in a lot of matches this season, we've played really well but are still losing. We should really be at least 1-2 up but for some splendid saves by Keylor Navas who is on loan from PSG for some crazy reason.
Back for the second half and Aurier should have been booked for a foul on Wily
I'm guessing he went to Forest to get playing time and due to his age probably unable to move to a bigger club. Sounds like a good piece of business from Forest
Back after some diaper duty to watch the second half. McKennie and Summerville on now.
I suppose that's true but it's a bit like turning up at Accrington to find they've just signed Ronaldo.
Welcome back, mate. Trooper goes in the woods so none for me, LOL!
The second half is going much like the first, with us in the ascendancy but with no end product.
Not sure about that, LOL! I think Forest is a tad bigger than Stanley and Navas not quite Ronaldo. A tad less on the salary, LOL and Forest a club on the rise so I get the move even though I see your point. I guess a bit of an unpleasant surprise
Leeds defend better on this Forest free kick
I hope Pascal didn't Struijch out? Forest players and supporters think so, but not Bob and I
Pascal is getting close to a second yellow now - I'd have him off for another forward. Yes, Rutter coming on. Firpo as well.
Our old pal Chris Wood going off now, to a chorus of "there's only one greedy bastard" from the LUFC fans.
back from a trip to the bog and didn't miss a goal , but am back in the middle of an incident
I guess they weren't tell kin g Chris that he's got Wood and certainly not chanting MOT to him. My Howe Eddie doesn't see him as part of a perennial CL team
Is Jesse going to walk the plank if Leeds doesn't get something out of this match?
Boly concedes a corner - come on!
Wober picks up a yellow tracking back there. Bit of a knock on the knee as well. That's a shame - he's our best defender at the moment.
Did you hear about Spurs's NBC motto since Conte took charge?
Oh - Surridge should have settled it there - fortunately, he put it wide.
OH! Just over by Sam Surridge for Forest. All due to the fact that Melsier punched away a free kick he should have easily caught
At this point, I'll just take an equalizer and a point. Won't do us a lot of good but it's something.
We're really missing Rodrigo now, who will be out for 6-8 weeks.
Sam Greenwood on for Jack now.
Inside the last ten minutes now - it's Leeds Time!
I hadn't heard about that Spurs motto - what is it, mate?
WOW! That's a massive loss. Rodrigo has had an excellent season. Will Jesse be around for the next match if Leeds lose today?
It's Conte's motto. Never Be Cheerful!
BOOM BOOM!
Jesse is taking a hammering on-line for bringing him on when we were already 3-0 at Accrington. It was a crazy move.
LOL! Nice one, mate!
Who do you fancy in the late one?
Summerville looks rusty since his injury. He was ripping it up in the late fall.
A Barber Shoppe Quartet of stoppage time minutes.
I'm going for the Spuds due too United chasing second place and t route for Steve, but sadly think Citeh will win it
One last free kick chance now - this one has to go in!
I thought you would like that acronym and strangely it's an accurate description of Conte
Unfortunately, it's come to nothing.
Sadly Leeds losing because the final product has been off. It's actually been a decent performance
You must be a Spurs fan today, eh?
I totally agree - our performance has deserved at least a point, but sadly that doesn't count for anything if you don't put it in the net.
It's over and Forest hang on to win 1-0. Really sorry, mate.
Yes. I'm rooting for the Spuds today. Steve may reluctantly too.
That's a bad loss for us, as it leaves us level on points with two of the bottom three and just outside based on superior goal difference. We do have a match in hand but that's at OT, so that won't count for anything. 18 points now from 20 matches, worse than last season at this stage.
Will you be around for the late match win NBC? will Jesse be around for the next match?
