Thank Goodness it's Saturday!
Morning, boys - I can't tell you how much I need this morning of the good stuff after a long workweek. It all starts with a bang with struggling Everton hosting the league leaders Arsenal. It won't surprise you at all that I'm hoping that the Gunners will munch on some Toffee. Indeed, there are plenty of top vs. bottom match-ups today. For example, I'll have a Villa win over Leicester at Villa Park, a Brentford win over Soton, a Brighton win over Bournemouth on the South Coast, a Liverpool win over Wolves at Molineux and a Newcastle win over West Ham at SJP. All of those results would take the pressure off Leeds a wee bit as we approach an away match with Forest on Sunday morning.
Join me to see how it all pans out, eh?

Morning, everyone - I'm just settling in for the early one. The teams on display at Goodison:
Everton: Pickford, Coleman, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Doucoure, Onana, Gueye, Iwobi, McNeil, Calvert-Lewin.
Subs: Begovic, Holgate, Gray, Mina, Maupay, Godfrey, Davies, Vinagre, Simms.
Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Martinelli, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Nketiah.
Subs: Turner, Tierney, Tomiyasu, Holding, Kiwior, Jorginho, Vieira, Trossard, Cozier-Duberry.
I'm disappointed to see that Arsenal are still locked in 0-0 with Everton at the halfway point of the first half. I was hoping I'd find the Gunners already 6-0 up or something. Come on!
Half-time - A typical Sean Dyche performance, full of graft rather than guile. It's frustrated the Arsenal, which is the point. 0-0.
Into the second half, still 0-0, but Arsenal knocking on the door
Good morn ing, Bob. I just woke up. Here to join you for the match. Still 0-0
Trossard for Martinelli and Jorginho on for Party Time for a Gunners debut , which may not exactly be Partey Time for Steve
Bloody Hell! One of Dyche's former Burnley players, Tark , has given the Toffees the lead
Ah, bollocks! Just moments after Odegaard spurned a good chance, Tarkowski rises to head home.
Morning, David - how's your week been?
It was a far post header off a corner. That takes the Toffees out for the drop and replaced by Wolves. If this result holds then Citeh would be two points behind with a win at the Spuds. still plenty of footie to play
Good, thank you for asking. How was you're week?
That was Tark's first goal for the Toffees. What a time to get it.
Var checking for a possible penalty to the Gunners for a challenge by Neil Maupay. VAR says nothing doing
Neil Maupay is a chippy sod.
Agreed. He was that way with the Seagulls. Steve must have been cursing him after that challenge.
Not a good smell as Fab Viera on for Odor Guard
Really need a couple of goals from the Gunners.
Odegaard wasn’t been on his game today.
Half a dozen stoppage time minutes left for the Gunners to get something out of this match
Sad to say that's what I was sniffing about Odor Guard
This result is dire for us; it will bring Everton level on points with Leeds, albeit with much worse GD. Bloody Sean Dyche.
Now things are kicking off again, with Maupay of course involved at the center of it.
An off the ball incident between Zinny and Neil Maupay. The nasty Toffee down and it looks like he started it.Both players booked. Maupay lucky not to be sent off.
Agreed, Bob. Bad for bot you and Steve. Must win vs Forest tomorrow.
Surprise surprise regarding Evil Neil
It's over and a shock 1-0 win for the Toffees and one;y the second Prem loss fo the season for the Toffees. Really sorry, Steve and Bob
Now it's time to take Trooper walkies on a chilly morning.
I'm watching United vs Palace on the COCK and a minute's silence for the anniversary of the Munich air disaster
Impeccably observed and now they're off .
COME ON MAN UNITED!
VAR checking for a possible penalty to United for hand ball on Will Hughes from a Rash cross. Andre Marriner headed to the monitor
WAY HAY! He it only took him a matter for seconds to award United a penalty
WAY HAY! HE SENDS GUAITA THE WORNG WAY WITH THAT JORGINHO TYPE STUTTER STEP TO GIVE UNITED AN EARLY LEAD
Bad news for Bob as a Matip OG gives Wolves an early lead vs Pool.. wolves up to 14th place and a pair of points clear of the drop zone. Toffees back in the lats drop spot behind Hammers and Leeds on goal difference, and ahead of the Cherries on goal difference
Glad to hear that United are doing well; not happy to hear about that Wolves goal. What on earth is happening with Liverpool?
I'm back from a refreshing shower and have the United match on now.
Welcome back, mate. Not sure about Pool.
Wolves now two up vs Pool. Craig Dawson with the second Wolves goal
Desmond at Villa Park now - a real ding dong going on there. Of course, I want a home win in that one. Things not looking good.
Villa vs Foxes now Desmond. Foxes have twice come from a goal down
At least one bit of good news. Saints starting to look doomed. Another former Burnley defender scoring as it was Mee, not he. Bees up to sixth place
Bryan Mbuemo has put the Bess two up
Burnley running with the Championship, winning 0-3 at CR. Pretty much up. SEVENTEEN points clear of the playoff spots and SEVEN points clear of the second placed Evil Blades
Blades held 0-0 at Rotherham in a South Yorkie Derby
YIKES! New Brazi signing, Tete has given the Foxes a 2-3 lead at Villa Park
Foxes now 13th and a trio of points clear of the drop zone.,
United one up at the half thanks to that early penalty
Half time has arrived and the picture is not good at all for Leeds. Of the teams below us, only Soton are losing 2-0 to Brentford. Bournemouth are at 0-0 with Brighton, Everton have already won today, Wolves are leading Liverpool 2-0 and have jumped over us into 14th, and Leicester are now leading Villa 2-3. West Ham play Newcastle later on.
Leeds were actually in for Tete in the January window, but honestly we bought loads of new players.
I switched on the match at Villa Park on the telly and now have the match from OT on the IMAC
Into the second half
Tete wide as he had a chance for a second Foxes goal. Looks like a good Foxes signing and a shame about that
Tete actually on loan from Shaktar. Had been on loan to Lyon since last March
Into the second half, United appear to be in full control of this one, despite the narrow scoreline.
Both teams attacking at Villa Park, which is great to see. Actually uncharacteristic for both sides
It hasn't been a good start to the second half for United
I need some of these scorelines to turn around. Not at all confident about getting a win at the City Ground tomorrow.
It's a slim lead, mate, so we can ill afford too sit on it . We need to attack more
As I type Rash cuts in and shoots just over
Would you be satisfied with a draw at the City Ground tomorrow? I remember Forest were sort of a bogey side where Leeds were in the Championship
Bruno down., We can ill afford to lose him
He's back up. Probably a knock that he shook off
Carrick's in form Teesiders go two up vs the Tangerines . Now third, but ten points from automatic promotion.. Tangerines second from bottom and four points from safety
Garnacho on for weghorsdt. What I think is that Ten Hog is going for more mobility for United
Still no second half goals in the 10 AM Premiership matches
WAY HAY! RASH PUTS UNITED TWO UP WITH A CLOSE RANGE TAP IN . THAT CHANGE PAID OFF
Nice one touch passing that culminated in Garnacho passing wide lefty to Luke And his deflected pass Shaw was diverted in from Rash in the six yard box.
That puts United third ahead of the late match at SJP and more breathing room
Evil Lions take the lead vs the Black Cats and replace the Baggies in the last playoff spot
Lovely jubbly!
A fight breaks out at OT. A cheap shot by Schlupp on Antony NFL style.
Both players booked. I know that's the normal decision, but I hate it because Schlupp could have been sent off for that cheap shot
Var checking for a possible red card to Casemiro for grabbing Will Hughes around the neck due to that challenge. Will he be sent off? Andre Marriner going to the monitor. Sadly I think it's an early bath for Casemiro
BUGGER! He is sent off. What was he thinking? It's the right call. Why would he do something that stupid?
GOAL! 3-3 AT VILLA PARK.COUTINHO, OFF THE BENCH, WITH THE GOAL
No it's disallowed. Foxes still ahead 2-3
Ruben Neves puts Wolves three up vs Pool
Eze does it as Jordan Aywew is replaced and Lokanga, oa loan from the Gunners, on for Will Hughes for his Palace debut
Former United defender, Paddy McNair puts the Teesiders three up vs the Tangerines. Former Gunner, Chuba agpom , with the first two Teesside goals
Great reflex save By de Gea from a Gueye header off the corner from Eze
BUGGER! PALACE PULL ONE BACK VS THE TEN MEN
The next corner from Eze was headed out and Schlupp, who should have been sent off , defected in a shot from Doucourre that writing footed De Gea
GOAL ! FOEXES LEAD 2-4 AT VILLA PARK. FORMER VILLAIN, MARC ALBRIGHTON , WIOTH THE GOAL AND DOESN'T CELEBRATE
Not happy at all about that scoreline at Villa Park. But the one at Molineux is as bad as the earlier one at Molineux. And why aren't Brighton beating their South Coast rivals? Come on!
Marcel Sabitzer, on loan from BAyewrn , on for Marc Antony for a Un iced debut. A defensive change from Ten Hog
A mistake about then goal. It was Dennis Praet with his first Foxes goal since September 2020. A long ball from Harvey Barnes was misjudged by Alex Moreno and Emi with a rush of blood rushed way too far out and Pratt easily scored.
The Reading Railroad have come from two down to make it Desmond vs the Hornets
Agreed, Bob. what about the events at OT.A slim lead with ten men
The final rolls of the dice from Ten Hog and two central defenders coming on . Lindelof and Harry Maguire on for Garnacho and Obi Wan as the sub is subbed for tactical reasons
Some better news for Bob. The Seagulls take the lead vs the Cherries
Cor! 3-0 Wolves over Liverpool. Taxi for Jurgen?
That is terrific news - so to look at some silver lining, it's still possible that the bottom three clubs will all lose. Brentford are putting Soton to the sword, Brighton have done the biz and hopefully the Toon will do us a favor.
Palace are still giving it a go but United should see this one out.
Ten man United her;d on to win 2-1. Not a good performance, but it's three points.
The late one on NBC is the Toon vs the Hammers. I will be rooting for the Hammers and you for the Toon.
GOAL ! JOW WILLOCK GIVES THE TOON THE LEAD 35 SECONDS IN
VAR checking toes if the ball was in when the pass was made. I think a sliver of it was.
No it's disallowed
GOAL! CALLY WILSON SCORES. THIS SHOULD COUNT
IT came off a long goal kick from Flappy then Schaar, not Sonny won a header at thew halfway line then Joe Linton won a tackle in the center circle then a nice through ball from one of the Long Staff brothers was well finished by Cally Wilson past the stranded Flappy as he got behind the Hammers defense
On the disallowed goal the ball was out of play by the width of a hair off the pass from Almiron . The Toon scored immediately off the resulting goal kick
The Toon back in third place by a vastly superior goal difference to their League Cup Final opponents, United. Hammers out of the drop zone ahead of the Toffees on goal difference. If the Toon score four more without reply then the Hammers will replace the Toffees in the drop zone
GOAL ! THE HAMMERS TIE IT UP. THE CORNER FROM DECLAN RICE WAS MISSED BY PLAYERS FROM BOTH TEASM AND LUKE THE PACKAGE TIES IT UP AT THE FAR POST, BEATING NICK POPE FROM CLOSE RANGE
