The War of the Roses Redux
Afternoon, chaps - I can't say that I'm looking forward to the annual slaughter that is Leeds' visit to Old Trafford. During our first season back, we lost 6-2. Last season we lost 5-1 on opening day. Add to that that we've under a caretaker manager situation, having sacked Jesse Marsch at the weekend. So, my only hope is that we put 10 men behind the ball and try to keep the scoreline down, as goal difference might have an impact on our relegation dogfight.
I'll be in the office following the match; feel free to join me and gloat - I can take it. ;-)

Good Afternoon, Bob. Thanks for getting us started. I may be a tad tardy because I need to pick up Jacquelyn from class then make my appointment for my upcoming colonoscopy. Hope it's not like that for you during the match, LOL!
Just a reminder that Leeds's Fifth Round opponents will be in action this afternoon as well.
BUGGER! WILLY GIOVES LEEDS THE LEAD AS I WALK IN TO THE HOUSE, BEATING DE GEA AT THE NEARE POST
The goal was scored 55 seconds into the match with Leeds's first three touches off the match. Bruno caught faffing about then Willy played a one two with Bamford then beat De Gea at the near post
Harry Wilson has given the Cottagers the lead at the SOL. As things stand you , Kate, and M&M will be hosting Leeds in the Fifth Round
Some sinister luck for Leeds as Summerville is on for the injured Luis in the middle of Winter
I'm just back in the office and see that we've taken an improbable lead through Willy Gnonto.
Thanks for the reminder about the Cup replay - I'll keep an eye on that one. I think I'd prefer to meet the Black Cats.
I'd probably take the entire forward line up right about now and put on five defensive middies and defenders.
United have a free kick now - mark 'em up!
Oh - Keystone Kops defending from us and Sabitzer probably should have scored.
Rearguard action in effect now.
Oh - Garnacho so close after Wober coughed up the ball. Enough of that, mate. Stick in your lane.
United really dominant now - this one's going to be a white knuckle ride.
Struijk down now after having been struck with the ball. We've already lost Sinisterra early doors.
I thought Garnacho had tied it up. He was about a foot wide off the [pass from Bruno trying to make up for being responsible for the early Leeds goal
Bloody hell - Firpo on for Struijk now!
Hiya, mate - sorry, I was held up in a meeting.
Time to Sruijch out Pascal from the starting lineup. Junior Firpo on for him. It won't count as one of the five subs or three windows as it was a concussion substitution
No problems, mate. I was off for a few minutes too
Leeds up to fifteenth place and three points clear of the drop zone
We've somehow made it to the half way point of the first half without conceding. It's a miracle!
A loss will hurt us . If we win then we will be level on points with Citeh , but miles behind on goal difference
It's all very scrambly from us, as if we're playing a five a side scrimmage in training, just trying to find a free man.
Oh - what a save off the line by Wober!
OH how did Garnacho not score? Should have tied it up after madness from Meslier, but got twice past Ayling then brilliantly headed off the line from Wober
Your Austrian doing better than ours.
Varane had a shot well blocked by wonder then Varane headed straight to Meslier from close range
Willy clumsily fouls Garnacho near the corner flag. Ion the replay we were gifted a free kick
Now Gnonto brings down Garnacho - another free kick. Actually, not sure there was any contact.
Ayling has struggled against Garnacho
Oh - great save by Meslier from Sabitzer, who's a real threat from distance.
Melsier does well to turn around a curler from Sabitzer after GArnacho had a shot blocked
I fell that we are unlucky not to be level due to the chances we've created
Yeah - Bill is running through treacle against Garnacho. We need someone to double up on him.
Cottagers one up at the half at the SOL
No pattern at all to our play - we're just trying to scramble it away.
To be honest Santos vs Romney and Biden vs Green were more feisty than this encounter has been so far. Do you concur?
Blow up, ref!
We're coughing up the ball far too much.
Yikes, mate! There's still a lot of footie to play.
Absolutely - I thoroughly enjoyed those fireworks last night.
LOL! I've seen enough!
Gnonto wins us a corner - take your time with it, mate!
Doesn't beat the first man.
A rare Leeds corner cleared by the first man. I don't think you will be pleased. Then A nice block by Lizzy Martinez from Willy
Bloody hell - now Gnonto's down - we can ill afford to lose him. He's our only bright spark.
Willy down, but it was a firm, but fair tackle by Lizzy Martinez
I'd stick a defender on for him - get him off now.
He's definitely been your best player by far this season.
LOL, mate! A tad early to take Willy off?
Eight is enough stoppage time minutes. More than enough for Bob.
Now Lord Bamford is down!
Bit of afters there from Martinez.
Sorry, mate. A tad naught naughty by Lizzy Martinez on Bamford. I know you will be none too pleased about that challenge
Another great block by Wober this time from Dalot. Blow up, ref!
Yet another block by Owner and no Dilly Dalot from him as that shot goes out for a corner
Fortunately, Fred puts the corner into the crowd and that should be that. I'm off home to enjoy the second half (as much as I can).
Wober needs to be off for a forward. He's over his quota of blocked shots
Looking forward to chatting with you later. It will test your blood pressure for sure
At first glance Leeds had a shout for a penalty on a challenge bye Lizzy Martinez on Summerville, but after looking at the replay it looked a dive by Summerville in the D. I give him an F , not a D
Leedsone up at the half.
The second half is underway from OT.
Former United player , Andreas Perreira has puts the Cottagers two up at the SoL.
I'm back for the second half in time to see Summerville slide one in from an improbable angle. What is going on?!
BLOODY HELL. THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT AS SUMMERVILLE BEATS DE GEA AT THE NEAR POST TO PUT LEEDS TWO UP.
Welcome back, mate. Looking at the replay a wicked deflection helped the ball in off a pass from Willy after Garnacho was triple teamed deep in the Man Yoo half.
I'm feeding Macy now.
There Shaw are some afters with McKinnie who is booked for a foul on Fred
I sure hope United's forwards are fed too. Is Maddox hungry?
Former Leeds striker , Jack Clarke, pulls one back for the black Cats , now trailing the Cottagers 1-2
Wout is going on is that Sancho is on as a sub and a South American swap as Pellistri is on for Garnacho for a Prem debut
A fifteen year old has come off the subs bench for the Black Cats. I guess if they're good enough they're old enough
Cottagers now lead 1-3 at the SOL.
WAY HAY! RASH PULLS IT BACK TO 1-2
Bugger! Great header by Rash. 1-2.
It was off a lengthy Man Yoo possession that culminated in a long diagonal pass from Sabitzer to Pellistri. He laid it off to Dilly Dalot and his cross was well headed in by a rising Rash.
Rutter on for Bamford
OH! Free kick from Aaronson off the post just after coming on for Jack Harrison
I'd still take a draw in this one.
It could have been 1-3 off that free kick from Aaronson
Chris Armas still the assistant at Leeds. Former Man Yoo assistant
Costa Rican teenager, Jewison Bennette pulls it back to 2-3 at the SOL in stoppage time.
Desmond! That was coming.
WAY HAY! DESMOND AT OT. Sancho with the goal
It Shaw did come off a one two with Sancho then Sancho Shaw did score after Luke had a shot blocked.
Sorry, mate. I agree with what you said about the equalizer.
Now we have to weather 20 minutes just to get a point.
Leeds down place to sixteenth, a point above the drop zone.
Sancho with a shot off Tyler Adams for a corner
Tyler Adams apparently took one for the team. Do you need details, mate?
Junior Firpo booked for holding back Rash on the break
Barely hanging on.
OH! Meslier tips over a header from Varane off a cross from Bruno
It's over at the SOL. The Cottagers hold on to win 2-3. You and your family will be hosting Leeds in the Fifth Round
Sabitzer booked for a foul on Willy after Fred gifted Leeds possession.
OH! Just over from Bruno from about thirty yards out
Malacia on for Dilly Dalot and Lindelof on for Sabitzer. One like for like and the other a defensive change.
Bruno down. That was really clumsy by Junior Firpo.
Hang in there, boys!
OH Low free kick from Bruno goes through a crowd of players and Meslier does well to gather at the feet of Rash,
COME ON MAN YOO! LET'S WIN IT LATE!
Close range shot from Fred blocked off a run and pass from Sancho.
Greeny and Joseph coming on.
Willy and Weston Mckinnie off for Sam Greenwood and Matty Fernandez
A quintet of stoppage time minutes
Long range shot from Fred comfortably saved by Meslier
Blow up, please!
I guess a draw would be a better result for Leeds even though you will be disappointed that Leeds lost a two goal lead
United have out shot Leeds 23-8, but the finishing has been off.
It's over and it fin dishes Desmond at OT. Great War of the Roses Derby at OT.
They do it again at ER on Sunday, but not a replay.
That's it - a really vital point for us. Still, you have to wonder we were pressing for a third when were 0-2 up.
Great chatting with you. Look forward to chatting again this weekend.
CHEERS!
