We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Glad you enjoyed it, Trev. I've just noticed watching it again that after he gets out of the congratulatory mugging of his teammates, Crouchie starts to do the legendary Robot dance but thinks better of it. Shame - I love it.
absolutely magic and freakish at the same time.
i cannot think of another really tall player ever that can do what crouchie does. there's koller who can 1-hold up the ball when it's punted up to him, and 2-cannon a header in from a cross. but could he do this? and can he dig the ball out from under his feet and jink by a defender? haven't seen it if so.
i think we're seeing a singularly unique kind of player here.
