Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Hamburg vs. Arsenal Highlights

In case you haven't seen them yet, here are the highlights from the Hamburg-Arse match yesterday. As to the VP penalty, I think it's obvious that the keeper catches his foot, but VP definitely makes the most of it as he's going to ground (9.5 from the Swiss judge). Could he have stayed up? Probably, but as the keeper had stopped him from getting to the ball, the penalty was the right decision. I'd say the same of the Giggs effort against Celtic, btw. And what a cracker from Rosicky - voom! Enjoy!

Voom indeed. Yes, it was a penalty. No, it was never a red card. And the proof is that Giggs two went down too easily to win the pen in your match, but Boruch rightly stayed on the pitch.

I really think from what I read that far from making it easier playing against 10, the Hamburg team sat back and left Ljbuda up front on the counter attack.

Imagine if Celtic hadn't wanted to have a go and instead packed in the midfield and defence. It would have been quite difficult to score 3 coming from behind.

Thanks for this clip BTW.

Yeah, point taken. I've never liked the red card and penalty thing. I reckon it's one of the other unless it's some really unusual situation - maybe the Shumacher against Batiston shocker or something like it.
