Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The latest musical sensation in the UK is The Zimmers with their take on the Who classic "My Generation." I particularly enjoy the performance of the lead singer, who, although he's certain no advert for National Health Care dentistry, reminds me of the old boy that I used to visit as part of the Mrs. Thompson's after-school program. Enjoy.

Glad that you enjoyed it. British pop charts have always been kind to the novelty hits such as this one. I fondly remember many a "Top of the Pops" full of the likes of "Shutupayaface," "Kung Fu Fighting" and the Chelsea boys singing "Blue is the Color."

Btw, these geezers were on Leno the other night.

Actually Bob, this fits more in line with those pop charters that sang "Matchstalk Men" and those achingly bad children's choir pieces that seemed to spring up from time to time.

It was before I realized that the deejays were bent and receiving payola for playing this sort of novelty. I can remember some guy at Andy's records telling me with a straight face that the phenomenon could be explained by juke-box sales to working men's clubs. Riiiight!
