Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The pre-debate buzz is all about whether Edwards and Obama will come out swinging. We'll see. I reckon they're just settling for second place and perhaps a VP slot.
A poor showing so far. It's noticeable that in all of these debates, the "moderators" defer to the Big Three candidates. And all three are basically in a giant pile-up on the issue of Iraq, trying to split hairs on policy but essentially refusing to commit to anything real. How long will Obama keep trying to get traction out of the "I wasn't there in the Senate for the vote in 2002" line. Pathetic.
Interesting moment there. Kucinich was kicking ass on Iraq, while Edwards looked on with a look on his face that suggested - "Boy, I wish I could say that!"
Clinton rattling the sabers on Iran. Why can't we get some candidates (other than Gravel and Kucinich) who are anti-imperialists? Sheesh.
Why is Chris Dodd (or Bill Richardson) still is the race? The only thing that keeps Biden somewhat interesting is his wacky partition idea. Who does he think he is - Lord Balfour?
Now Hillary's having a go at Syria! Who's she going to want to bomb next - Belgium? Tell me I won't have to put up with four (or eight!) more years of this militaristic shite.
Okay, just how bad can this moderating team get? Russert's assistant fielding the emails just lobbed a question about immigration first to...Richardson. He made light of it but still....
What's next - are they going to ask Obama where to get chicken and waffles in Chicago?
So we've had a half hour of hawkish foreign policy and immigrant bashing. Great. Why should any progressive vote for any one of these idiots? Might as well vote for a Republican.
Okay, Kucinich and Gravel just restored a bit of faith there with some great comments on immigrants. Kucinich in particular talking about canceling NAFTA. Hear hear.
Russert teed one up for Dodd there, asking him why he had said that Bush would want Hillary in the White House. And he whiffed on it. The obvious answer is to speak to the Clintons negative numbers with the public. Instead he left it to Biden who cleaned up by talking about "all the old stuff (baggage) that comes with the Clintons."
Alright, Russert just went down the line of the second-tier candidates, trying to poke holes in their presentations. Do you get the sense that he's sick of seeing the same faces?
Interesting. Edwards has just basically admitted that he's a bigot on gay rights issues but that he's willing to leave decisions up to his kids who are more enlightened on the issues. Why not clean up your act, John?
