Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Hi, I am here.
Already one game in the books. A great game from the Emirates.
The Arse take a two goal lead, Sunderland tie it up but RVP scores a late winner.
Steve's lot back on top
Chelsea's team news for the Reebok
Lampard and Terry both in the team
Liverpool make five changes from the Champions League
Half time at Reading. Nil nil
Morning, Dave!
From 365: "Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez makes five changes but there is not even a place for Peter Crouch on the bench, his place as fourth-choice striker now clearly confirmed.
An ineffective display in midweek against Marseille in the Champions League would not have helped his cause. Benitez brings back John Arne Riise, Andriy Voronin, Jermaine Pennant, Alvaro Arbeloa and Javier Mascherano into his side.
Tottenham make just two changes from the side which drew 4-4 with Aston Villa last week. Jermaine Jenas - recovered from an abdominal strain - and Lee Young-Pyo replace Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone.
They're off at Anfield
Morning Bob.
How did your Gators do last night???
Spurs the quickest out of the gate. A dangerous free kick here...
Bale over it...
That was close by Bale!!
The Spurs fans thought it was in
It's a big cheer, but it's merely side netting after a deflection
Ah, it's a sad day in the Swamp this morning, after a painful, but thrilling 28-24 loss to LSU that puts them top of the heap. Our second loss in a row.
All these Sunday games are terrible!!
I was listen to FiveLive yesterday and they were complaining.
The games at Blackburn, Bolton, Liverpool and Everton are all because of the UEFA Cup. The Man Citeh actually had to be played today. It is actually supposed to be at Boro. The corresponding game is at the end of the season and it was moved because the UEFA Cup Final is to be played at the Eastlands and they didn't want a game there just before it. They just switch venues and had to play on Sunday because United were at home yesterday.
The games at Arsenal, Reading and Fulham could have been played yesterday.
CITEH HAVE GONE ONE UP
Citeh are one up against Boro, another great start for Sven's men.
I agree with you.
For some reason, the noise from the Spurs fans is clear as a bell on the broadcast, so you may want to cover the kids' ears, Dave.
You could hear the "wanker" chants going up when the ref awarded the corner, even the commentator commented on it.
Now you can hear them taking the mick out of "You'll Never Walk" with "Sign on, sign on, with a pen in your hand, and you'll never get a job, you'll never get a job."
Goal for Cost del Pool.
Was Robbo at fault?
Bloody hell!!!
Oh dear, you've got to pin that on Robbo again, he spilled that one badly and it's 1-0 Liverpool
Can Macca really pick him for Saturday? His confidence has got to be shattered at this point. Of course, it is Estonia - he shouldn't have much to do.
Sparky's lot has taken the lead against Brucie
Here's the 365 view: "Robinson was at fault for the goal, raising more questions about his position as England's goalkeeper."
I can't disagree.
Me too
From the Beeb
1515: GOAL Blackburn 1-0 Birmingham
David Bentley swivels beautifully in the box and finishes at the near post. Very good goal that.
Will he play for England?
SWP isn't even in the squad for Chelski
Nah, I think Macca will stick with SWP, even if Grant doesn't like him.
Bloody Hell!!
The Rugby World Cup!
England shock Australia
France shock the All Blacks.
Now, Fiji has scored two quick tries to tie it up with South Africa
Reading have scored for Reading.
Doyle with the score
More bad news for England: "Joe Cole is receiving treatment at the Reebok Stadium after being caught by a late tackle from El-Hadji Diouf."
What the hell this is "Operation Anfield Exercise" they keep announcing?
What on earth is going on in the rugger world?
Reading could be getting an important win.
Derby haven't scored an away goal in the Premier League in FIVE YEARS
I heard that as well!!!!
Do you think Spurs have been the better side?
SA just took a three point lead with less than 20 minutes to go
Chelski have hit the bar.
Spurs have been knocking it about better but Liverpool have looked more dangerous and have had better chances. Torres is class, isn't he?
We like to have all sports here.
We have mentioned college football, our football and rugby.
Here are two more
Sri Lanka 164 All Out
England 5 for 1
GO SOX!!!!
Free kick time... ROBBO must be nervous... off the post
Any luck listening to Talksport? You would love the banter
Close by Berba
This is great stuff. First Stevie G. smacks one off the post and then Spurs knock it down the other end and Carra has to clear off the line from Berba. Great game.
More sport.
Big game in NY
Jets at Giants
Citeh go two up!!!
Are they going end up in the top four!!!
Nice cross by Costa del Pool
Then, what are Liverpool doing. TAKE A SHOT
Gretna 1 Celtic 0
Both teams are getting chances at the Reebok. End to end stuff but still goalless.
Bugger.
SA have taken a ten point lead.
Scotland play the Argies later today.
Sport #5
Formula One
Rookie Englishman, Lewis Hamilton, could have been World Champion today but he dropped out. He has a four point lead with one race to go
I counted wrong.
Sport #6
It really could be 4-2 at this point but for some overly cute finishing up front. I know a certain striker of Italian extraction that might have had a hat-trick by now in this game.
Spurs look dangerous
Citeh really could be the real deal. I can't see them mounting a real challenge for the championship but top four isn't out of the question with Chelski falling off.
Newcastle 1 Everton 0
Butt with the goal
Chelski have scored.
Citeh looked VERY good against Newcastle last week
Was Nicky's goal in off the bum? He really should score at least one that way. Boom boom.
Thank you Basil
Yes, Spurs score!!!
Another bloody announcement gets interrupted by the goal. Did you screen turn green as well?
Well deserved equalizer
Great finish from Keane, and it's no more than Spurs deserved. Half-time 1-1 and the best match FSC have had all season. Can't wait for the second half.
Yeah, that was weird with the commentators obscured by the tannoy sound. My screen went wobbly but not green.
There was a bit of green in your wobbly screen!! Open your eyes.
SA have won 37-20
Here's the email that I sent FSC yesterday:
"Dear Sirs: Yesterday, you broadcast an hour of "Soccer Saturday" and it reminded me what I'd found on my occasional trips to the UK - it's the finest footie chat show available. If it's possible, I'd ask you to broadcast the hour lead up to the 10 a.m. EST kickoff with the live feed from the "Soccer Saturday" panel. I'm sure I'm not the only English footie fan that would be delighted by this additional to the channel.
Thanks for your consideration.
Regards, Bob Dahlgren
Reading get a precious win.
OOOH, they are showing United's goals
Lovely goals there from United!!
Great letter
Why was Ronaldo so chuffed to score a header, with all that pointing at his noggin? Doesn't he score a lot with his head?
Jesus, I was late getting back to the telly while doing some washing up and I've missed Spurs and Keane's second goal. It's a carbon copy of the first - long ball knocked on by Berba and tucked in neatly by Keane.
Sami Hyppia really does look past his sell by date here. Berba's been making a monkey of him all day long - he's won every header.
Andy Johnson has replaced McFadden at half time for Everton.
Sorry, I was getting a haircut from Kathy. Do you still get those!!!
Great goal again by Spurs.
As for Ronaldo, maybe it is because he just had stitches from last week.
Good quote from the Beeb
1609: "Has Jamie Carragher bought a ticket to watch Berbatov's flick-ons to Keane ? At fault for both the goals."
Nice chant from the Spurs crowd:
"Anfield's an Highbury!"
A comment on its imminent demise?
Blackburn have scored a second directly after Birmingham have a goal disallowed.
Newcastle have been pegged back by Everton. AJ with the goal
Actually if you look again, Carra was marking Keane and Hyppia Berbatov. They've now switched and Jamie's won a few headers off Berba.
Keep it going Spurs. They are dominating
That was quick from AJ; he's only just come on.
Don't tell me, tell the Beeb
I reckon it's close to Crouchie time. On for Pennant?
What was Pepe doing? I guess it ended up okay but...
Good tackle, Pepe!
Uh oh, what is up with Stevie G
Just went back and it was a tackle on his thigh. Lucky it wasn't his toe
Right, get Voronin off!
As you were saying earlier, do they have microphones in the Spurs stand? Or are all the Pool fans silent?
Citeh have scored number three
There is no way Spurs don't deserve the three points. I still don't think they will get all of them.
Stevie G. hasn't looked right for several weeks. He's clearly playing injured. I wouldn't play him against Estonia.
Citeh's third was scored from a free kick by Elano again. Last week was a bullet. This weeks a curler.
I agree with you on Stevie G.
Please put him on the bench just in case.
It will never happen by the way
Birmingham have a goal back at Ewood
Looking at a live table, Liverpool are still in fifth but are 7 points behind Arsenal and five behind United.(with a game in hand on Utd.)
Interesting that after the Derby game, Liverpool had a great goal difference. Now Utd have the same GD as Pool.
Do you know the last league goal Utd conceded?
The match at Eastlands on August 19
Michael Owen warming up at St. James'
Yeah, you have to say that the Vidic/Rio partnership is the best in the land.
That always gives me a sinking feeling. You always feel that he's gonna get crocked playing for Newcastle.
From the Beeb
1632: "Sven was asked after the first three wins why he's good with clubs but couldn't do it for england. His reply: "England didn't have Elano". I'm starting to see what he meant!"
With Babbel and Kuyt coming on, does that mean that Crouchie is the fifth choice striker for Pool? Madness!
Robbo spill again but cleared.
I can see Spurs start to get nervous and blow this. They deserve all the points.
Owen is on
That's a glib response from Sven. In the end, he took England to three quarter finals. The question for England is how to get over that obstacle. Certainly two penalty losses makes you think that penalty shoot-outs might be something to take seriously?
Oh dear, come on wee Mikey!
Good save from Robbo at the near post
You can see that Robbo's back four have no confidence in him. He rarely comes to clear or catch a cross; Spurs defenders are left to clear away for corners. Not good.
Deadly by Torres
Row Q?
Come on Spurs
Keep it up
Are you really that worried about Liverpool at this point?
Newcastle score a late goal.
Pepe's gone walkabout again...and he's really lucky there.
I am always am
I lived in England in the 70s and 80s
Boro get a consolation goal
3 minutes of added time.
Celtic score two late goals.
Poor Gretna
Bloody Hell.
Torres scores a late goal.
Bugger.
At St. James' Park. Owen set up the Toon's second and scored their third.
Way to go Mikey
Bloody hell, you were right! I thought Pool were done for - it's Torres with a lifesaver - great header!
Well done, Michael Owen. Let's hope he gets another hat-trick next weekend to move him closer to Sir Bobby's record.
Great game.
Spurs don't deserve this.
One last chance with a free kick
That's it.
Citeh win 3-1
Rovers win 2-1
Agreed. Best game I've seen this season. Absolutely fantastic. That's why we watch the Premiership.
Nice chatting with you as usual, Dave. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
That Owen goal was important. Everton just scored again
You too
Cheers
GO SOX!!
GO INDIANS!!!
