Champions League - Final Gameday!
It's crunch time for Liverpool and Rafa Benitez today. Simply put, they have to win against Marseille or they'll be relegated to the UEFA. Worse still, if they were to lose and Besiktas got anything out of their match with Porto, the Merseysiders would be out of Europe altogether and Benitez would surely be out of a job by the morning. It should be gripping and ESPN2 will be showing it live from 2:30 onward.

Hiya Gator,
I'm taping the 'Pool game to watch when I get home tonight so I won't follow on with you today.
Interesting that Maureen took his hat out of the ring today. Could it be that he wasn't that interested and that the insufferable little twat was just trying to get Frank at Barca or Carlo at Milan or Berndt at Real the sack? Or was it that he actually met Barwick and realized as long as that Rotarian moron was head of the English FA, it would end in tears? Or even possibly, he knew that he would have to tell Lamps," here's your hat, there's the door!"
But it's all interesting isn't it?
I've just got in from work and Liverpool are already 0-3 up in the 60th minute and seem to be home and dry.
You could either say that if Rafa plays his best XI they do the biz - Gerrard, Kuyt and Torres all scoring today - or you could look for some suspicious activity on the Far Eastern gambling circles. It does seem a very convenient result for the Reds today.
Ryan Babel has put the icing on the cake for Liverpool sliding in a fourth goal from a breakaway.
Porto have clinched top spot with a 2-0 win over Besiktas.
As I feared, the replays show some suspiciously poor defending from Marseille. Look at the Torres goal, for example, when you have a chance. Of course, it's a great move from the kid, but at least two of the Marseille players pull out of their tackles.
Boy, GatorB, I was thinking the exact same thing . . .the fix was in . . . Marseille's back four wasn't even trying . . . I wish I'd seen the match at Anfield for comparison purposes . . .Marseille were hopeless yesterday.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one. Granted, I'm a bit cynical these days about high-stakes footie. I tried to call into the World Soccer Daily show with my conspiracy theory but the buggers wouldn't take me call.
