Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Thanks for the post, mate. I'm pleased. As you mentioned, it could have been much, much harder for England. I reckon that Groups A, B, C, D, F, and I have harder paths to Brasil 2014.

So, Montenegro again, eh? Bring 'em on!

Could be a lot worse

Of course, we will be used to Montenegro through Euro Qualifiers, Ukraine and Poland are both hosts for the Euros. Maybe they will be up for the qualifying

San Marino did take the lead against England a few years back inside a minute.. England won 7-1!
And they think its MOLDOVA... it is now!

Btw, in terms of CONCACAF, the US got drawn in with Jamaica plus the winner of Group E (Grenada, Guatemala, St. Vincent and Belize) and the winner of Group F (Haiti, Antigua and Barbuda, Curaca and the Virgin Islands).

It looks a winnable group, but I almost wish we did have a recognizable rival to beat here. The past qualifying campaigns for the WC and the Euros have been stained with performances that suggested England's lily-livered millionaires thought they could win by showing up.

But on the face of it, England should comfortably qualify top. Scotland have it all to do, and the Welsh can book their 2014 summer hols to Barry Island without fear of losing their deposit. Glad to see that the Irish only have to beat Germamy and Sweden to qualify. If they'd been drawn against the Germans, they'd be toast.
