Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Subs: Bunn, Petrovic, Blackman, Goodwillie, Vukcevic, Roberts, Henley.
Referee: Mark Halsey (Lancashire)
I'm finding the new MSNBC show "Up with Chris Hayes" a much better alternative to the creepy hunting shows on ESPN.
Apparently ESPN2 and Ian and Macca are taking the morning off. No coverage of the early match on the Deuce today. So I've got this link up through First Row:
http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/94403/2/watch-stoke-city-vs-blackburn-rovers.html
Stoke begin the match in seeming safety fives places ahead of Blackburn in 14th. However, there are three sides below them that are a mere point behind and only three points separates them from the dropzone. A Blackburn win today could put Tony Pulis is real jeopardy.
Kick-off time at the Britannia.
The LUFC Academy factor this morning is 1 - Paul Robinson in goal for Blackburn.
Early corner here for the home side.
Whelan dives in on Formica and the striker isn't happy about it.
A hopeless floated free kick straight to Sorenson that shows exactly why Blackburn have scored so few goals.
Bloody hell - Blackburn are trying the Rory Delap long throw tactic with Morten Gamst Pederson launching the bombs.
Blackburn looking rather lively so far especially with Junior Hoilett and the Yak as targets up front.
Oh - N'Zonzi caught Ryan Shawcross with a nasty elbow to the nose. He's a lucky boy that the ref didn't see it.
And now it's Whelan who's taken a blow to the face. He's going to have to go off for treatment.
Interesting. I've just noticed that Stoke have a goal difference - -12 - that's quite similar to that of the bottom three clubs. More evidence that Stoke are in the relegation battle.
Half way through the first half and there hasn't been a real strike on goal yet. Pity the poor Stoke fan who hasn't to watch this shite 19 times a season.
It's remarkable that Stephen Nzonzi isn't in Mark Halsey's book yet.
GOAL! Delap puts Stoke in front!
Classic Stoke there. A good free kick into the danger area by Jermaine Pennant and Delap lost his marker Givet to head home past Robbo unchallenged.
1-0 Stoke!
Here's how crazy the Premiership is this season. That goal has Stoke temporarily in the top half in 10th on 15 points now. It also keeps Blackburn firmly in the dumps on 7 pts.
Decent free kick chance now for Blackburn with Pederson over it. Blasted into the wall. Shocking.
Pederson has been a real waster this morning, blasting high over Sorenson's goal there. Probably Blackburn first attempt on goal, sadly.
Oh - Glen Whelan heads off the line from Scott Dann's headed effort from the corner. Close call.
Coming up on half-time, Blackburn are pressing for the equalizer.
Morning Bob,
I didn't think this match was being covered on the TV so I figured I would have a sleep in
Ian and Macca did have a little kip too
ESPN2 have Man Utd v Newcaste at 10
FSC have Chelsea v Wolves followed by Arsenal v Fulham
A good feast tellie footer to come
Rochina with a good crack on goal after the free kick, well smothered by Sorenson.
I get to the link and it is half time... nice timing!
The half time whistle goes, probably at a good time for the home side, with Blackburn piling on the pressure. It's been a hard-battling even contest but Stoke have the vital goal. 1-0 Stoke at the interval.
MAN UTD v NEWCASTLE (1500 GMT)
John Sinnott reports: "You need to go back to 1 October and the 2-0 home win over Norwich for the last time Manchester United scored more than one goal at Old Trafford in the league. And you have to go back even further for a Wayne Rooney goal in the league, when he scored his ninth top-flight goal of the season against Chelsea in United's 3-1 home win on 18 September. That partly explains why the champions are five points behind leaders Manchester City and will give Newcastle some cause for hope as they return to Manchester for a second successive weekend after falling to their first league defeat of the season to Roberto Mancini's side."
I don't know what has happened to United? I watched the United Arsenal match this week and United's movement and passing was so fast... WHAT HAS HAPPENED????
Morning, Dave - good to have you on board. How's your Thanksgiving week been?
I'm going to say that it's a temporary blip for you lot. It's a long season and United have a habit under Fergie of finishing the strongest.
Blackburn have started the second half the way they finished the first half - straight onto the attack.
Nice comic moment there. Some black plastic garbage bags had somehow blown onto the pitch and as they're being cleared off the Stoke crowd are singing "What a load of rubbish!"
Oh - big chance there for Robert Huth from Etherington's cross. Should have scored.
I am back
My Thanksgiving was nice. Yours?
You should have come here. Remember, you're always invited
"temporary blip"
It has been over two months
GOAL! Glen Whelan doubles Stoke's lead.
Stoke double their lead
Nice cross... he did well to get it over
Nice pull there from Pennant but Whelan's shot was crucially deflected past a prone Robbo.
2-0 Stoke!
STRUTH... now this website jumped to Crackle... what is going on!!!!
It jumped back
No more crackle problems
I see there is a Soccer Saturday link on First Row. I will be going to that after this match
Just over 20 minutes to go
Thanks again for the invitation. I had a brilliant Thanksgiving. Totally stuff meself. You?
Me too
BREAKING TEAM NEWS: Phil Jones is not included in the 18-man squad for Manchester United. Ashley Young and Fabio start.
BREAKING TEAM NEWS: Ashley Cole returns to the Chelsea side. Oriol Romeu comes in. Frank Lampard is on the bench.
I'll be onto it as well. No "Crackle" problems at this end. This link has been brilliant from the off.
Three nil!
Crouch tucks it in
Crouch! 3-0! Over and out!
According to my schedule from the beginning of the season, this match was supposed to be on Monday night
Typical Stoke goal again. Long high ball that somehow evades all of the Blackburn defenders and Crouchie kept his shot low past Robbo.
How is it that Steve Keane hasn't won the sack race yet?
MAN UTD v NEWCASTLE
Man Utd: De Gea, Fabio Da Silva, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Giggs, Young, Rooney, Hernandez. Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Smalling, Park, Valencia, Macheda, Gibson.Newcastle: Krul, Simpson, Steven Taylor, Coloccini, Ryan Taylor, Obertan, Cabaye, Guthrie, Gutierrez, Ben Arfa, Ba. Subs: Elliot, Santon, Lovenkrands, Perch, Gosling, Shola Ameobi, Sammy Ameobi.
Referee: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)
BREAKING TEAM NEWS: No Rafael Van der Vaart or Luka Modric (who is ill) in the Tottenham starting line-up. Sandro comes in, as does Jermain Defoe.
FSC about to start Match Day before the Chelsea Wolves match
ESPN don't start until 9:55
Nice goal by Rovers!!
Too little too late
GOAL! Rochina gets a consolation goal back with a superb effort.
3-1!
My type of goal!
Good morning UWS and BD. How was your Thanksgiving? I will do this instead of Holiday shopping any day.
The boys and I were watching the Everton 4 Liverpool 4 match from '91... it looks so weird and it a makes a difference that the keeper can't pick it up
I was getting some extra kip and missed this match.
Welcome, MUR! Great to have you on board. Much better than holiday shopping.
What happened there? The ref called it back anyway but what a miss by Jones
Kenwyne was flagged offside and lucky for him as that would have been an embarrassing miss.
Morning MUR
Kathy and I went shopping in the evening and bought NOWT!
Nzonzi is in the middle of things once more. I don't think he's got a card yet!
Then Sorensen saves superbly from Rochina. Then handbags as Nzonzi fouls Sorensen from the corner. He receives a lecture from Mark Halsey.
I posted the last comment on the CL post earlier
Chelsea need to win or draw nil nil and they will be through. They drew 1-1 in Valencia so they have an away goal.
So what will happen to Citeh's Premiership form when they get knocked out of the Champions League in a couple of weeks?
That's it, then. I'm off to see a man about a dog.
Game over
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Stoke win 3-1.I' off to brew a strong pot of coffee.
I am off for a shower
A bit of a blast of the "Marching on Together" now.
I've been wearing my "El Torrero" t shirt for the past day or so in hope that Simon will pick Luciano Becchio ahead of Andy Keogh this morning. Let see....
My prayers have been answered. Here's the team news out of Elland Road ahead of today's clash with Barnsley:
United: McCarthy, Connolly, Lees, Kisnorbo, White, Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton, Sam, McCormack, Becchio. Subs: Taylor, Pugh, Nunez, Bromby, Keogh.
Barnsley: Steele, Foster, McEveley, Hassell, McNulty, Done, O'Brien, Perkins, Butterfield, Vaz Te, Davies. Subs: Wiseman, Preece, Drinkwater, Ranger, Haynes.
Referee: G Salisbury
I am back just in time
Great SS link on First Row
Who found this First Row website....good on ya
United vs Toon is on ESPN2 while Chelski vs wolves is ob FSC. I will be watching the Deuce.
Roon and Chicharito are starting today. Why didn't Chicharito start on Wednesday? I know Roon was injured.
The Blades won 0-1 at struggling Chesterfield. BD will not be pleased.
About to get underway
No Berba on the bench. He did score in midweek
Off we go
The match kicks off from OT. Newcastle have not won at OT since 1972! Let's have a United win.
COME ON MAN UNITED!
United attacking the Stretford End!
GET IT OVER NANI!!
That's what I get fed up with
Nani wins a corner off a great run off of Collocini.
Ryan Taylor heads away the corner.
United are playing with some pace so far
Collocini heads away the cross by Ashley Young.
Useless cross by Evra.
I wish the CL matches were this week and have Citeh have their minds on it during the Anfield match
Too late Ian. I already mentioned 1972.
Nice pass by Nani to Fabio... almost in
Nice attempt by Hernandez... liking the pace and passing so far
Straight to Krul from a Wea Pea shot.I agree with Macca that United look sharp. Why not in midweek?
Chelsea have scored
John Terry with the goal
The First Row link is pissing me off - I'm onto the Sky Sports News link on My Premium.
Nice hit by Hernandez... keep it up United
United broke through Wea Pea and he shot straight to Krul.
Brighton are beating Coventry
Celtic take the lead
Great passing again... KEEP IT UP
Oh - Snoddy whistles one just past the post. Good start from us.
Sunderland take the lead against Wigan
JT has put Chelski in the lead as Wea Pea has a shot deflected to Krul.
Mine is working well
WBA take the lead against Spurs
Bottom dwellers Wigan are behind already to Sunderland.
Plymouth have taken the lead against Northampton
Coventry have tied it up against Brighton
Plymouth are now two up
Partick Thistle take the lead vs Culter in an FA Cup Replay. They should have won at the first attempt.
Two quick goals at Brighton v. Coventry. 1-1 there.
Bob will be pleased that Plymouth are leading.
Nice shot by Ba... well saved by De Gea
De Gea saves comfortably as Demba Ba was through.
You guys just ignore Nocito Sportscenter!!
Celtic two up
West Brom take the lead vs Spurs.
Newcastle are playing well too
More ignoring
Brentford take the lead at Rochdale.
Terrible cross by Hernandez
I don't think it's that we ignore you there at Nocito Sportscenter, UWS. It's just that you're quicker to the punch as if you've got a feed that's a minute quicker than the rest of us.
What a shame . A great run by Wea Pea , but that cross was way too high.
Bugger! Hull are 1-0 up over Burnley. That bumps us down to 6th now.
Goal at Carrow Road.... to Norwich
a goal in almost every Prem match already
Just Bolton Everton and this one
I agree with BD. There is lots of action today and it is hard to keep up because it is such an exciting match at OT. I do have a question to ask the SportsCenter. I have Plymouth leading 1-0 and you sated 2-0. What is the correct score in the Argyle match?
Two Nil
Nick Chadwick with the second
Now Plymouth lead 2-0. I must be behind the Sportscenter as Russell Martin scored the Norwich goal. Happy with both scores.
Giggs still needs to score in the Prem to keep his streak going
Plymouth are THREE UP
I hope Giggs scores this season. That would be an amazing record. I wonder what the all time top flight record is.
Bolton are down to ten men. David Wheater off for a straight red. Ian Dowie thinks it's harsh.
United were lucky to escape there
Wheater has been shown a red card for Bolton
United started off strong....now they have slowed down
COME ON
COME ON UNITED!
Careless defending from Evra and a decent cross by Ober, but a Toon player whiffs and De Gea greatfully gathers.
I have noticed that too, UWS. I hope United up the tempo.
Big Club Sheff Wed take the lead against Leyton Orient
BD must be ecstatic about that Argyle score.
Macca is right. We will have a tough draw in the round of 16 It's all our own doing.
Very happy for my friends down on the south coast.
Of course, Benfica will overlook Galatti and lose!
We need the Gills to defeat the rotten Bradford City to help Argyle.
Penalty to Spurs.... who will take... VDV not playing
I would hope so. We do need that.
I don' think it really matters what the draw is for a club like United that expects to be there or there abouts in the CL. Eventually you would have to play the likes of Barca, Real or Bayern. What difference does it make if you meet them in the 2nd round or the semis?
Adebayor to take...SAVED.. but nets the rebound!
Evra goes on a run and is fouled after a Giggs cross is headed away.
Ade scores a penalty for Spurs at the second attempt. 1-1 there.
Roon kicks out.... Colo was fine with it but some whacko comes in and causes problems. Ben Arfa gets a card
I agree , BD. I guess we have to face them some time.Ben Arfa needs to stay out of it a, especially as he and the other player shook hands. Ben Arfa is booked and Roon was up to his stupid antics again!
Stupid by Rooney too
Did he get a card as well
Oh Dear
Leeds are behind
Brum take the lead at Blackpool
Ben Arfa was the whacko. That is uncharacteristic of him.
Handbags now between Roon and Ben Arfa. That was a ridiculous kick out by Roon, not once but twice. He should have got a red card - instead, he gets nothing. More evidence that he shouldn't be in the England squad for Euro 2012 IMHO.
Roon was not booked. He is a lucky boy. Sorry about the scores, BD.
Jeff not happy... Hartlepool are losing
BUGGGGGGERRRRRRRR!
I will not dispute that,BD.
Blackpool tie it up with Brum almost immediately
Chelsea are two up
Sturridge
Bugger.. Hernandez misses another chance
COME ON!!
2-0 Chelski - they're cruising today. Sturridge with his seventh goal. Who needs Torres?
BLOODY HELL!
we should have been in the lead as Nanit put Wea Pea in with a superb bakll and the striker blasts over with just Krul to beat.
Get in the box Rooney... you're not the left winger
oooh, almost for United!
COME ON
Two quick goals shared by Blackpool and Brum. 1-1 there.
what a superb save by Krul form Giggs. Corner United. It was a good corner, But Vidic missed the header and it sailed out for a goal kick.
This is why I think Rooney should be the new Scholes... he isn't in the box enough anyway. He always comes deep to collect the ball.... have him do that and still have two men up front!
Ignoring
More evidence that our away form is better than our home form this season. I wonder why?
United have looked their best going forward for quite a few matches
Young and Nani have disappeared!!
I agree, UWS. We need a goal because Newcastle will probably fold once we score.
WAY TO GO OBER! NOW YOU KNOW WHY LET HIM GO.
ManYoo old boy Obertan with a wild effort there.
I agree, United's passing has started to be pathetic again
They started off well
Danny Simpson, the former United trainee, heads a Young cross out for a corner.
What a horrible stretch for Newcastle
Citeh, United, Chelsea
Bloody short corner!!
What a pathetic short corner. BLOODY USELESS!
Another one and shot from Nani hits Row Q
Useless cross by Nani.
Brighton retake the lead against Coventry
I think Leeds vs Millwall is an early kickoff next Saturday along with Toon vs Chelski.
That's more like it Obertan
Poor by Ober again. Good riddance!
I have a question to throw out to LOBERS. Does Citeh have a chance of remaining unbeaten in the EPL this season where they would match the Gunners of 2003-2004?
What's happening at ER?
Any chances for Leeds?
We need a goal. Come on, you Whites!
They're going to lose tomorrow
I reckon that Citeh are due for a mini-crisis. They're as good as out of the Champions League IMHO, which might have an effect on morale in the camp.
Nice cross by Obertan and then De Gea has to make a save... COME ON UNITED!!
There are two crucial matches this weekend, I think. This one we're watching and the Citeh v. Pool match tomorrow. Either could go either way. That's why we watching the stuff.
Wigan get an undeserved penalty.... they score
RUDDY NORA... TWO NIL BARNSLEY
I hope so, BD and UWS. As I match as I hate Liversox, I would love to see them win tomorrow. I hope both of you are correct.
Wigan have equalized by through a penalty.
Goal somewhere... Charlie Nicholas yells as Mata scores Chelsea's third
Bloody Hell... Hernandez whiffs!
PLYMOUTH ARE FOUR UP!!!
Bugger, bugger, bugger! What is going on at Elland Road. According to the SS reporter, we've been horrible in the first half. 0-2 Barnsley!
Cheklsea now lead Wolves 3-0 and Wea Pea slips at he vital moment as he was put through.
The halftime score from OT is 0-0. Not pleased.
Half time
We started well and then went back to the same form we have had for the last two months
COME ON!!!!!!
Sorry about the score at ER, but happy for Plymouth. The score must be great for Argyle morale.
I'm going to be doing the full-on LUFC mojo routine at half time. Leeds mug out, Leeds shirt on. Doing the Leeds United Calypso around the flat, neighbors be damned!
The second half is Leeds time!
Good luck with that Dr. Dahlgren
Even though the score is still 0-0, I have been encouraged by United's pace... we just need to put the ball in the old onion bag
