Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The LOB Thanksgiving Turkey Award!

I'm starting what I hope will be an annual feature here at the LOB - The LOB Thanksgiving Turkey Award. This year's turkey is former Blackburn and Wales clogger Robbie Savage who has been "gracing" the ballroom floors of "Strictly Come Dancing" this season. One thing's for sure - Robbie wouldn't get away with those twinkle toed moves if he were still playing in the Championship without the likes of Lee Cattermole giving him a kick of the arse. Enjoy!

Truthfully, how do people watch this type of stuff!!!!

Savage isn't too bad. He has really changed his whole persona since retiring!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone

He's an athlete so I'm not surprised that he didn't Peter Boyle up that floor. He was really puffing at the end though. Fitness a question?

And has he had his teeth done? What dazzling choppers!

Good catch Bob. Very amusing.

The American equivalent of "Strictly Come Dancing" is " Dancing With the Stars", which also has Len and Bruno judging. Was that Bruce Forsyth hosting the show? I wasn't aware that he was still in showbiz.Anyhow,Mr. Twinkle Toes did well. Where were those moves when he was hacking opponents and receiving his customary yellow. Bruno said teeth like piano keys. That is a remarkable transformation with those teeth.

I got a chance to watch a bit of last season's edition at Christmas when I was visiting my parents in London. The show has been a real boon for the long career of Bruce Forsyth, who at the ripe old age of 83 comes out at the beginning of the show and does a wee bit of soft shoe. He's a legend.

I'm assuming that the flashy new choppers are part of Robbie Savage's transformation from midfield destroyer to media star.
