We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Blogging the RNC!

I'm having a bit of a giggle today over Hurricane Isaac's having postponed the Republican National Convention by a day, but I'll be keeping vigil with the convention through Thursday. If you're doing your civic duty as well, free free to drop in for a chat.

So, what are we missing tonight as Isaac sweeps over the Gulf area heading for New Orleans?

The RNC organizers had originally planned to take care of the Romney nomination process tonight, largely in order to avoid a floor flight with the Ron Paul supporters. Paul seems to have been frozen out of this year's festivities, along with George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin.

The Romney nomination has now been pushed to Thursday. Oh - and Mike Huckabee's star turn has got the axe.
