Another Cracking Premierxhip Weekend
I've got the special treat this weekend of sharing another great slate of English domestic footer with the Gooner alongside. We start with the current champions Citeh, who have dipped in form this year. Then it's the current table toppers Chelski against Norwich. We finish then with the Arsenal in a local derby with the Happy Hammers. Join us for all the action. Cheers!

Got the coffee and bagels going. Gooner's having a bit of a lie-in.
Here's the team news out of Manchester this morning:
Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Richards, Lescott, Kolarov, Milner, Toure, Barry, Silva, Tevez, Balotelli.
Subs: Pantilimon, Nasri, Dzeko, Aguero, Rodwell, Clichy, Toure.
Sunderland: Mignolet, Gardner, O'Shea, Cuellar, Rose, Johnson, Larsson, Colback, McClean, Sessegnon, Fletcher.
Subs: Westwood, Campbell, Kilgallon, Vaughan, Meyler, Bramble, Saha.
Ref - Lee Probert (Wiltshire)
City are without the services of captain Vincent Company, so it's Lescott and Micah Richards at the center of things. Gareth Barry is back in at defensive middie. And Jamie Milner starts ahead of Nasri, who was woeful against Dortmund.
Sunderland will rely heavily on their new goalscorer Stephen Fletcher who has scored five times in six matches.
And we're away at the Etihad.
Good morning BD. A si type Tev was off on goal and Cuellar is booked for a horrible challenge just outside the box.
A wild challenge there by Cuellar as Tevez is racing through. He nearly cut him in half, says Macca. Yellow card.
Kolarov and Balo over this one....
GOAL! Kolarov with a sublime left-footed strike!
1-0!
GOAL !!! KOLOROV SCORES A ROCKET OF A FREE KICK THAT LANDS IN THE ROOF OF THE NET.
You can perhaps fault Mignolet there in the Sunderland goal for cheating a bit to the left and leaving his near post unprotected. Still - what a hit!
Morning MUR = great to have you on board. The Gooner is snoozing Rip Van Winkle style.
Well Citeh had to score two late goals to salvage a late draw that ended up winnin them the title last season. Sunderland have not trailed this season . Will the Black Cats come back?
Cheers, BD. Great to be on board with you. I believe UWS is RVW too. I am sure it has been a long week.
It's still dark in Harlingen As I got up at the same time as I do during the work week.
Well, Citeh haven't had a clean sheet yet this season and are without Kompany. I think there are goals yet in this one.
Silva fouls Fletcher in a decent position for the Black Cats. The free kick was headed away, then head tennis in the box, then volleyed just over by Sessignon.
Sessignon has a pop there acrobatically after the free kick.
Apparently Balo and Mancini are already having a spat today and Aguero (my GBB) is warming up. Hope so!
I agree, BD>. An early morning cracker. Just heard that there was an latercation betwenn Mancini and Balo and as a result Bob's GBB is warming up. Balo refsing to listen to instructions. What a surprise?
Zabaletta heads out for a sunderland corner.
Barry heads out a corner from Larsson for another. That's a fine!
BLOODY USELESS!!!
Two consecutive corners that fail to beat the first man and fail to leave the ground, and a foul called.
Gooner would dole out some club fines there.
Are you off on Monday, which is Columbus Day?
Me too. Shocking corners!
I'm afraid not - although, I don't teach on Monday, so it's light duty for me. We've got Fall Break here Thursday and Friday but I'm off to a conference at Dartmouth.
Balo seems to be in a pissy mood , even by his standards , as he shoots well over from long range.
The girls are off Monday. I was supposed to be , but have jury duty!
Oh - a scrappy move there but it came to Zaba in front of goal. Mignolet with a point blank save.
WOW!!!!Nearly 2-0 as Mignolet saves from two Argies. First from Zabaletta from point blank range, then from Tev
Surely you'll be kicked loose early doors from the jury duty. All you have to do is say something incendiary on the survey, e.g., that the death penalty is a racist institution.
I hope you enjoy the Fall conference in evil New Hampshire.I heard Dartmouth is nice. Hope you enjoy the beautiful Fall foliage.
Man Citeh are now third as a result of that Kolarov free kick.
Well, this is the follow up from last Monday when not one single case made it to trial and we were all there till nooon. A waste of a morning, then they said you have to report back next Monday, which is my day off.
Balo goes down as if he's been kicked in the face there - Gardner is incensed.
That means United is fifth
It's Kolarov again, who smashes it straight into Larsson's head. Ouch!
The free kick from Kolorov is blocked by Larsson and over for a corner. Larsson is worse for wear
Looks like you're fourth, just a point ahead of Spurs
So, a trip to New Hampshire, the Texas and Arizona of New England!
That may be. I wasn't sure of the Baggies
Indeed, however, NH seems to be plumping for Obama this time around. That shows you what a trainwreck the Romney campaign has been.
Oh - Balo is inches away from connecting with that Milner cross.
Talking about politics, I just got back from a monsterous trip from the loo.I fell much relieved.I missed the debate, but heard Obama was poor.
Now starting to see some daylight.
Great work from Tev, earning a corner.
Tev has a shot blocked by Cuellar for a corner, on the break
Balo tries a curler from the corner. Mancini won't be happy with that lazy effort.
Curled wide by Balo off the corner.
Did you see my loo comment. It tied in with politics.
Balo's down again - Lee Probert has seen enough of his antics.
Poor by Balo as he goes down easily as it was just a coming together woth O'Shea.A classic textbook case of a Bipolar personality
Fletcher had a shot at Hart. His first of the season that was on target that wasn't in the back of the net.
Then why not book Balo???
Tev has a cross blocked for a corner.
I agree - Balo is riding his luck.
Barry rockets a long range effort just wide off a short corber from Milner and Silva.
No comments from my loo remark from a few minutes ago?
MacLean gifts possession on a rare Sundelrand attack. Unusual for the young Irish midfield player
Sorry, I missed it the first time, mate. I reckon that Obama was a bit under the weather Wednesday night. Perhaps he needed a trip to the loo?
Offside by Sessignon as he received via a mis kick from MacLean.
Could be . He will need to do better next time. Two minutes of stoppage time.
How about the Green Party, mate?
Fletcher failed to connect on the cross from Larsson and it went to Hart
That's who I'm plumping for this time, given that I can be assured an Obama win in NY. I reckon it's a safe bet for you too, given that Dems haven't had a look in in Texas for yonks. No chance for Obama there.
Halftime and Citeh lead 1-0 thanks to that early free kick from Kolorov.
Half-time. I'm off for a shower.
Hey Boys
I have been busy running around this morning... not sleeping... but I am her for the second half and the 10 o'clockers.
I have to leave at Noon for Tom's match
Everton were the last team to win at the Etihad when they won in December 2010. I think I rember that match as that was during the freeze.
Back from the shower just in time to see Sunderland kick off the second half. Still no sign of RVW.
The seocnd half is underway from the Etihad.
We're off
Morning, UWS - great to have you on board for this one. How have you been, mate?
Good morning UWS. Great to have you on board. How was your week?
RVW... was not sleeping!
Are you off on Monday, UWS? It's Columbus Day.
Busy as ever! Games every day, practices and 2 jobs!
Yes, I have Monday off but I do have practice at 4
No - this morning's RVW is the Gooner who's visiting for the weekend and is enjoying the comforts of my guest room this morning.
Adam Jonson wins a corner off of Lescott, against his old club. The corner was headed over.
Definitely a busy schedule , UWS. I have off Monday, but have bloody jury duty.
ooh Fletch had a chance there!
Oh - Richards does well to block Fletcher's volley.
Fletcher has a shot blocked, then miles wide by Larsson.
Oh - Balo pulls a great save out of Mignolet.
Is Gooner resting for the 10 AM matches?
WAKE HIME UP!!!
Richards misses TWO chances!
mIGNOLET TIPS OVER FROM bALO.Danyy Rose clears off the line, then Balo shoots over.
Sorry, that was Yaya - I made the same mistake that Ian Darke did.
No - it's Richards with two bites of the cherry! Off the line by LUFC Academy!
Gooner can have a late lie in during the mini reunion. There is a nice spare bedroom available.
Oh - Fletcher gets a great header off and Hart tips it around. It's ruled offside anyway but a lovely bit of play.
Great cross from Sessignon and Flletcher had a header superbly saved by Hart, but he's offside.
Sunderland have created more chances this half already than they did in the entire first half
Poor marking by Richards.
I think we're both still catching up on our kip from the week in London.
I agree,UWS
That's what I was thinking, BD.
Finally - it's Balo off for my GBB. I want a hat-trick!
Bob's GBB will come on for Balo.
We've also got a concert tonight that could be a late night out.
Balo is being replaced.. he won't be happy
Now that change occurs,
How's your dad?
Where is he?
What concert, Bob?
Balo's off down the tunnel to have a wee pout about being yanked off.
He's definitely bipolar, that Balo!!!
It's a guy named Robert Glasper who is a jazz pianist. His trio has been experimenting with r n b and hip hop fusions with the likes of Erykah Badu and Mos Def. Looking forward to it.
Micah with a header well saved by the Keeper
Nice save from Mignolet off a header from Richards off the cornber.
It's Richards again with the header from the corner. He's a danger, alright. Mignolet plucks it out of the air acrobatically.
Sounds like a great concert.
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!
GBB! 2-0!
Bugger!!!
Bob's man doubles the lead
GOAL !!! 2-0 CITEH AS BOB'S GBB BLASTS IN AT THE NEAR POST OFF A CROSS FROM KOLOROV.
Super move down the left through Silva and Kolarov. Aguero does so well to beat his man at the near post. Wonderful finish!
David Vaughan is on for Danny Rose. Minus one for the LUFC Academy factor.
Yes - LUFC Academy factor is down to 1.
Unfortunately, I think this one is done and dusted.
Yeah - Citeh are cruising it now.
So is the MUFC academy factor and the Arsenal academy factor.
Gooner has risen from the dead - he's not happy with the score-line.
Luis Saha is on for Adam Johnson, who gets a standing ovation from both sets of fans.Ex United on for ex Citeh
Tell Gooner that no one is... except for your little cheer at the second goal!
Morning Stevie
Inches wide by tEV AND THAT COULD HAVE BEEN three,
Good morning Steve. I am not happy with the score, eikther
Tev rounds Mignolet and a lob from Silva is headed off the line.
Kolorov heads out a cross for a Sundelrand corner.
Great save by Hart off a header from McLean and Barry. The ref blew for a foul. A better corner from Larsson.
Barry has shot delfected for a corner off a corner
Richards has a header blocked off a corner from Milner.
Sunderland did start this half well.. now it is just shot after shot for Citeh!
Did Ian say Mignolet or Vandolay???
Agreed , UWS. It looks like a first defeat of the season for the Black Cats as Richards volleys miles ove off he corner from Milner
Gooner says "hiya" to all assembled.
Hello Gooner! How are you?
Fletcher shoots straight at Hart
Naughty by Colback on Zabaletta. He's booked for that challenge,
Lecott deflects a shot from Vaughan out for a corner.
Lescott heads out the corner from Vaughan
Yaya has a shot deflected for a corner,
Clichy is on for Tev, who hets a standing ovation.
Kolorov has shot deflected for a corner and that should have been a handball on Gardener and a penalty for Citeh. The next corner is cleared.
Aguero puts Kolorov down the left and is fouled by Gardener just outside the bo. Unnecessary as Kolorov was not going anywhere
I come back into the room and Milner scores a third
GOAL! Milner with #3 - again I think Mignolet could have done better.
3-0!
GOAL !!! 3-0 CITEH AS MILNER BLASTS THE FREE KICK IN THE ROFF OF THE NET FROM A NARROW ANGLE. DID THAT GO OFF OF GARDENER?
Rodwell is on for a late cameo.
Jack Rodwell is on for Silva.
Citeh up to second
I don't see United winning at SJP tomorrow so Citeh will be above them
Three minutes of stoppage time as I have to leave to take Melanie to tenniss. Elizabeth and Jacquelyn to Denny's. Will be back for the 10 AM matches.
No Grand Slam for Melanie then?
Game over
That's that, then. An easy win for Citeh that sees them into second slot ahead of the rest of the matches.
Boring Chelsea v Norwich on FSC at 10
I can't find a link for SS - anyone got one?
The teams out at Stamford Bridge:
Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Luíz, Terry, Cole, Mikel, Lampard, Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Torres. Subs: Turnbull, Romeu, Ramires, Moses, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Bertrand.
Norwich: Ruddy, Russell Martin, Barnett, Bassong, Garrido, Elliott Bennett, Howson, Hoolahan, Johnson, Tettey, Holt. Subs: Bunn, Turner, Snodgrass, Jackson, Pilkington, Morison, Ryan Bennett.
Referee: Anthony Taylor (Cheshire).
We finally have a juicy home match against a rubbish side, Barnsley. Three points, please, boys. MOT!
All Chelski early doors - rubbish effort from Torres though.
Watford have taken an early lead over Boro.
GOAL! West Brom 1 QPR 0! Lovely cross from Shane Long on the right wing, who pegged it past his full-back as if on a jet pack, and then curled the ball onto the head of James Morrison, who headed back across goal and in. Simple, and excellent.
I am back and see it is 0-0 at the Bridge,
Nice one from the Chelski faithful -
"He tweets when he wants. He tweets when we waaaants. Ashley Cole - he tweets when he wants."
I am back. No grand slam today as it is a preseason match. A grand slam is on the card for Elizabeth and Jacquelyn at Denny's
GOAL! Yes - Norwich take the lead through a brilliant move. Houlihan with deep diagonal, lovely knock back and Grant Holt thundered it home.
0-1 Canaries!
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
GRANT HOLT GIVES THE CANRIES THE LEAD AT THE BRDIGE. A CROSS FROM HOOLIHAN WAS KNOCKED DOWN AND HOLT FINISHED EMPHATICALLY. WHAT WAS CECH THINKING?
Holt scored his frst ever EPL goal at the Bridge last season.
Good day for all the competitors at the top. Everton have fallen behind at Wigan. Condolences, Someone Said.
UWS will be pleased that Pompey have taken the lead at the Fake Dons.
Just got out of the shower to see Holt's goal!
YES!
Everton tie it up at Wigan
The Leeds line-up today:
Kenny, Byram, Lees, Pearce, Peltier, Brown, Austin, Tonge, White, Becchio, Diouf.
That's the settled side right now.
Bugger! That didn't take long. Torres flicks a header home. 1-1!
Bugger... Torres ties it up!
SS link is about 3 second after the TV... I like that!
I am off for walkies... Shadow has been penned in all week
I'll be back
BUGGER!!!!
TORRES TIES IT UP WITH A HEADER OFF A CROSS FROM IVANOVIC.
Great cross over by Ivanovic and a super run and header by Fernando. Ruddy with no chance.
Good that LOBers are squeeky clean
And another goal! Wigan 1 Everton 1! Another header from no distance out! Everton bring the ball towards the edge of Wigan's area but the player who attempts a curler to the far post falls over while he's doing it, and the ball is miscued onto the head of Jelavic, two yards beyond the far post, who nodded in.
Hazard volleys tamely at Ruddy off a cross from Torres after a nice pass from Mata
Yes, indeed, Gooner is getting squeaky clean for the late match now.
All the goals are in the Prem so far. Only that lone Watford goal in the Champ.
Come on, the Leeds boys!
Ruddy easily catches a corner from Lampard
End to end stuff now. Tettey should have hit the target but has a head like a 50 pence piece.
GOAL! And Lamps adds a second. This game is wide open with no real defending going on. Great volley from Frank.
2-1!
BLOODY HELL!!!
LAMPARD GIVES CHELSEA THE LEAD WITH A TYPICAL FINISH AFTER RUSSELL MARTIN CLERED A CROSS FROM TORRES.
Millwall have taken the lead vs Bolton and the Foxes vs Bristol City. everton tie it up at Wigan
Pompey lead 0-2 at the Fake Dons. UWS will be disappointed!
Cashley heads wide off a cross from Oscar after he was unmarked by Russell Martin
Hartlepool lead at Crewe. Jeff will be pleased.
Evil Millwall are 1-0 up over Bolton.
Leicester are 1-0 up over Bristol C.
West Brom lead bottom club, Evil QPR, 2-0
Cambridge United have taken the lead vs Jane Mansfield.
Stirling Albion lead the mighty Rangers
Two more goals now in the Championship. Huddersfield are flying these days. They're 0-1 up at Brum.
And Burnley have taken the lead at Palace. That helps us.
Nice one, MUR - not sure that Jayne Mansfield would be any good, having been dead for several decades. And those knockers might get in the way too.
Garrido has a cross deflected off of Ivanovic for a corner. The corner from Bennettt is headed away by JT.
GOAL !!! 3-1 AS HAZARD SCORES ON THE BREAK LEAD BY MATA AS THE CANRIES WERE CAUGHT OUT.
GOAL! Hazard makes it 3-1 Chelski. They're romping it now. Great thru ball by Mata to Hazard who slots home his second for the Blues.
Cheers , BD. I think you can say the same thing about Cambridge and Mansfield.
Useless cross by Bennett after a nice pass from Hoolihan.
Burnley now lead 0-2 at Palace while wigan now lead the Toffees 2-1
John Terry has to make a last ditch block there. Norwich are still giving it a go.
