West Ham v. Spurs Live!
The Monday night football match this week is a tasty affair between two London sides trying to get into Europe for next season. Spurs have a grip on that fourth CL spot while West Ham will be hoping to qualify for the Europa. Join me to see who will triumph today from 2:45pm onward.

Wahay - I've got a tasty link up for Monday Night Football on Sky through First Row here:
http://www.firstrow1.eu/watch/171348/1/watch-west-ham-united--vs-tottenham-hotspur.html
The team news out of Upton Park tonight:

Subs: C Cole, Collison, Vaz Te, Taylor, Pogatetz, Chamakh, Spiegel.
Spurs: Lloris, Vertonghen, Lennon, Parker, Adebayor, Bale, Dembele, Dawson, Holtby, Walker, Caulker.
Subs: Gallas, Naughton, Sigurdsson, Friedel, Livermore, Assou-Ekotto, T. Carroll
Lovely tribute to the late, great Bobby Moore before the match here.
Rob Hawthorne and Dave Proban on the microphone this afternoon as the home side gets us underway. Lots of pretty bubbles blowing in the air right now.
Spurs seem to have gone for a particularly Amazonian backfour tonight in order to accommodate the usual Route 1 strategy from Fat Sam's side.
Matt Jarvis gets a decent cross there after dropping the shoulder on Kyle Walker. Cleared out.
Joe Cole would seem to be a key figure in this match. He has to play well for West Ham to get something today.
Hey Bob,
I am home from work with the match on ESPN2
Nice one, UWS - welcome!
We missed you on the Oscar blogging last night. I'm sure that you were cock-a-hoop about those wins for Michael Haneke and "Searching for Sugar Man." ;-)
good afternoon UWS and BD. I will try to watch the match on espn3.com
GOAL... SHOCKER... BALE!!
UP TO THIRD FOR SPURS!
I mentioned you when Lincoln won.You stated that you liked the movie.
Bugger - I was distracted for a moment and Spurs have scored. Gooner - not pleased.
I did read some of your comments for the Oscars
I finally have the match after being asked umpteen questions about my cable provider.Spurs lead 0-1 at Upton Park
HAHA CHELSEA!Agreed that Gooner will not be pleased.
Jarvis stands up a decent ball again but Andy Carroll has been completely anonymous so far. The Spurs backfour is completely owning him.
Diame wins a Spurs corner off of Scott Parker. The corner was just too high for Andy Carrroll. He should be attacking that. Nothing wrong with the corner.
Hey...lets have Arse overtake Chelsea as well...only 2 points behind
Now Andy Cole fails to trap a perfect pass then falls flat on his ass trying to keep it in play
I would love to see that happen, UWS.
Joe or Carlton...not Andy
Spurs have another London Derby on Sunday, but that one is the big one and has CL implications too.
Holtby needed to get that cross over
It was Joe, but he wasn't even an average Joe on that play
North London derby at WHL next weekend
Chelsea host West Brom... shame
Spurs take it short and Kyle Walker shoots into the cheap seats
Who will RDM root for?
Spurs break , but it's a tame effort from Bale.
Bale has been scoring but he is a ball hog just like Defoe
Penalty to the Hammers
Penalty given to the Hammers!
PENALTY CALLED BY WEBBIE!HE CALLED A FOUL BY SCOTTY PARKER ON ANDY CARROLL
Stupid challenge by ex Hammer Parker
Carroll buries it... 1-1
Carroll won the penalty there and he's going to take it....
And scores! 1-1!
GOAL ! 1-1 AS ANDY CARROLL SCORED WITH A GREAT PENALTY
I have a class about to start. I may be around for the second half . Cheers lads.
Cheerio, MUR!
Bale tries an outlandish overhead kicked... failed miserably!
Remember, he was bought as a left back!
The Arse announce 17.8 millions pounds for half a year!
Nolan comes off injured replaced by Matty Taylor
Villa host Citeh next Monday... come on you VILLAINS!!
You never know - the Villans haven't been that bad recently. They ran the Gunners pretty hard on Saturday.
Holtby had a half chance there but it was blocked out for a corner.
Great save from Jussi from Caulker's powerful header from the corner.
Coming up on half-time - this match is still on tenterhooks.
Bale has a late chance here from a free kick.
Free kick chance for Bale with the last kick of the half...wide... just!
Well up and over. And there's the half-time whistle. 1-1.
Off to set up my class. Back in a tick.
That free kick was closer than it looked
Second half underway
We're back on at Upton Park - Spurs to get us started again in this second half. Arsenal fans will be hoping that the Happy Hammers can nick something in this second half.
Strange one there. Vertonghen tried one and it cannoned off Duhamel and nearly beat Jussi at the near post.
Oh - and Jussi saves well there again from Stephen Caulker who's a real threat in the air.
I am back to see it is still 1-1>A corner from Bale and header cleared off the line.
Free kick Hammers after a clumsy foul from Dembele
The free kick is straight to Lloris./
This one could go either way now.
Fat Sam rubs his face in disgust after the Hammers can't put together two passes. Not like the good old days.
I hope Middlesborough vs Chelsea is not draw because that would mean that Man United could not play their FA Cup quarterfinal until April. Chelsea play in the EL thei first two Thursdays in March. The following two weeks are occupied by the international break.
How did Adebayor not net the rebound!!
I am back and forth helping students and trying to keep up with this match
JOE COLE PUTS THE HAMMERS AHEAD!!
I saw that from the distance. Did he slip while trying to score.AVB definitely not amused.
GOAL!!!! 2-1 HAMMERS AS JOE COLE PUTS THE HAMMERS IN THE LEAD.a LONG BALL IN THE BOX. JOE COLE DID WELL TO CONTROL AND SCORED WITH A NICE FINISH PAST LLORIS.
Joe Cole booked for taking off his shirt as the fans are blowing bubbles.

NOT BAD
You're right about the Cup... I don't want it delayed either
I should have done better. Gary O'neill booked.
AM I right about us playing the Hammers if the cup is delayed?
Makes sense to me
I missed the free kick as Emmanuel Pogatetz is on for an unhappy Guy Demel.
We were scheduled to play them in the early EPL match that weekend if we had lost to Reading. It would have been on ESPN.
Taylor should have extended the Hammers lead!
Nice save
Thomas Carroll on for Dembele. Now each side had a Carroll, the author of the Winnie the Pooh books.
GOAL !!! DESMOND AT UPTON PARK AS SIGURDSSON SCRAMBLES IN FROM CLOSE RANGE AFTER A FREE KICK WAS NOT CLEARED.
Scramble in the box.. finally put in from Siggy... DESMOND HAS ARRIVED
A really scrappy goal
Another decent save by Jussi
Another good save
Great save by Jussi from a close range header from Ade.
James Collins booked for a foul.
Spurs are threatening big time here
Jack Collison comes on for Mohammed Diame.
Spurs cl;ear after a couple of blocked shots off a long Hammers free kick
Carroll should have shot there... took to long
James Collins lining another long Hammers free kick.Kadoomph and it is cleared.
Maybe we do want a draw
I just happened to come by this article on the Daily Mail Website
As the FA have ordered all quarter-final matches to take place on the planned weekend, it means the Middlesbrough tie must be decided in time for the winners to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on March 10.
As Chelsea face a trip to Steaua Bucharest in the Europa League on March 7, the only available date for any replay with Middlesbrough is next Monday, March 4, just two days after a Premier League encounter with West Brom at Stamford Bridge.

Would UEFA allow a Monday match ahead of a Thursday EL match? I don't see a problem, but I know UEFA has some odd rules. Also, UEFA considers their matches priority and doesn't want anything to interfere with their matches.
I do want to see Spurs win this... DOWN GO CHELSEA
If you read the article more, there would be a problem with a quarter final replay with United and Chelsea
ANOTHER CORKER BY BALE!!!
UPPPER NINETY!!!
He went down to get a foul... got up... took a shot... BANG
Into stoppage time . Four minutes.Bale scores what looks like a spectacular winner as Spurs lead 2-3.
Right at the 90th minute
In other words, we have to win at the first attempt.
BBC's reaction
2149:
Ridiculous.
Steve Claridge, BBC Sport at Upton Park
"That is unbelievable, it is quite staggering, how can he keep doing it? It's one of those where your mouth just drops."
Is he going to Football of the Year?
Footballer of the Year that is
Spurs hang on to win 2-3 at Upton Park and move up to third. The Hammers are getting sucked into a relegation battle.
That's it
Game over!
Spurs are up to third with that Bale scoring a brace
Take care.... I'll be around for Chelsea's Cup match... I think
TTFN
He sure has a great chance.
Cheers UWS.
